JAPANESE double-act Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate will NOT figure in the World Cup Finals.
The Celtic pair have been overlooked by international boss Hajime Moriyasu for the soccer showpiece in Qatar which will kick off on November 20 and end with the Final on December 18.
Striker Kyogo and midfielder Hatate had hopes of joining in the soccer extravaganza in the Middle East, but both have been snubbed.
HOOPY DAYS…Kyogo Furuhashi celebrates his goal in the 3-0 win at Livingston, but there was bad news on the World Cup front for the Celtic fans’ favourite.
Hoops team-mate Daizen Maeda has been given the nod by Moriyasu to take a place in the 26-man squad which has just been announced.
The decision will be a major disappointment for 27-year-old Kyogo who has claimed three goals and picked up 15 caps over the past two years.
The prolific hitman, who was the club’s top scorer with 20 strikes in his debut season, and Hatate, 24, could be named in the reserve list and may yet figure if there are call-offs.
Japan will face Germany, Spain and Costa Rica in Group E.
