Assoc-member club allege inappropriate SFA involvement

946

In a universe close to you, one side of a football club boardroom battle thought it would be a good idea to undermine the other side by accusing them of leaking company information.  The allegations of a leak [at Newco Rangers, in case you were unaware]were blazoned across The Sun today, who were shown “a copy of explosive minutes from the board showdown at Murray Park where Gers power-brokers voted to sideline (chairman, Malcolm Murray)”.

This is cringe worthy.  At what level of humanity does leaking [highly confidential]boardroom documents about an earlier alleged leak appear to be acceptable behaviour?

The Sun report the minutes from last week’s board meeting record:

“The SFA mentioned to the acting chief executive (Craig Mather) that the Rangers board situation needed addressing as the SFA understood information was leaking from the chairman.

“Given the concerns about confidentiality [no laughing now], credibility and professional conduct and the impact on regulators, a motion was proposed to remove Malcolm from the position of chairman and as director of the company following the completion of the investigation.

“It was decided that Malcolm should not attend to any duties in the meantime and would not be involved in the direction or detail of the investigation.

“The resolution was passed by a majority of shareholders.”

The campaign to blacken Malcolm Murray’s name has been underway for some months but you can ignore that, there are three points from the above worthy of note:

“Malcolm… would not be involved in the direction or detail of the investigation”.  Despite having the minutes, The Sun fail to clarify which investigation is being referred to, the on-going investigation by Pinsent Masons and Deloittes, or an investigation into Malcolm Murray’s behaviour.

As it was proposed to sack Murray as a director on completion of the investigation it’s unlikely the investigation is into his own behaviour.  Sentencing is usually reserved until after guilt is established.

The possibility that the minutes indicate Malcolm Murray will not be allowed to be involved in the direction or detail of the Pinsent Masons investigation renders the exercise pointless.  The investigation into links between Green and Whyte, with consequences for SFA membership, was at the insistence of Murray.  If the persons who removed him are now controlling the scope of his investigation, that investigation is moot.

The other interesting point is that the “resolution was passed by a majority of shareholders”.  I’m pretty sure this was a directors’ board meeting not a shareholders meeting.  It’s a curious comment to make its way onto the minutes.

By far the most concerning comment to be made on an SFA associate member’s boardroom minutes was:

“The SFA mentioned to the acting chief executive (Craig Mather) that the Rangers board situation needed addressing as the SFA understood information was leaking from the chairman”.

It is no business of the SFA whatsoever if a club chairman talks about its business outside the boardroom, the allegation here is of completely inappropriate behaviour by the Association, which makes it our business.

Who at the SFA is involved in this, what did they know, when did they know it, who told them and who did they speak?

Time for some leadership from the SFA board and some proper journalism, or would everyone rather play their part in the Great Football Swindle?

  1. Evening Folks,

I’m a first time poster to this forum bhoys, but rest assured, I’ve been watching and reading from afar. Something has just caught my eye with a previous post from Charles Kickham and his link https://twitter.com/Hullbhoy/status/333952357337554946/photo/1

Call me paranoid but see what you think. I think its code.

Swap STV for Rangers. Swap BBC for Celtic. Swap Scottish Government for SFA. Read the complete email again with theses changes and what do you think?

Does anybody have access to any other additional emails from/to C.W. that we could transpose these terms for?

I don’t see any respect in that post so don’t say there is.

I said I have never used, or would use, the word nuclear. And I would never use it as that would be a case of, as you say, bullshit.

As EKBhoy says, why go to Glasgow if you haven’t got something to say.

After Nimmo Smith AT had said he was finished with the story. The fact that he was filming would suggest that it was something of substance that got him reinvolved.

  9. So the tape released on TSFM tonight featured CW (our hero), Chuckles, and possibly “Brian”.

The snippet is short, so it is difficult to guage what exactly is being discussed, however the tape would appear to provide more evidence of direct contact between Chuckles and CW.

“Brian” could be Stockbridge, or Kennedy, of the Blue Knights.

Seems to me the big question is – given the boardroom civil war at Ibrox – who leaked it?

  10. Apart from Hearts and Dunfermline, who were heading down the tubes anyway, I believe the other SPL clubs have realised that there is life after Them.

This should give them more confidence to see that they are not aided by the forces of skullduggery.

Last year it took ST resistance to facaus their minds.

Is there the stomach to unite against the SFA in a similar campaign?

With regards to the forthcoming AT piece…

Who knows what it will centre around, I’m sure it must be pretty juicy if O.G keeps mentioning it.

I remember big phil tweeting several weeks ago that our hero craigy had a long list of people he had recorded. A list longer than the list of people he hadn’t recorded, by all accounts. Possibly AT will expose what went on. Or possibly he has ‘5 way agreement’ intel.

  14. swatson Neil Lennon's 6ft skinny twin! on

I think if we ever get to see it, the ‘5 way agreement will confirm that the old Rangers died and the SFA, SPL and SFL understood this to be true but that they the ‘3 governing bodies’ would go along with the pretence that the club was seperate from company and had survived to get fans to buy into it.

In other words they have all been part of the fix in one way or another!

CALLING ALL FORMER PUPILS OF ST AUGUSTINE’S IN MILTON

SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ALL RED BLOODED MALES OF A CERTAIN AGE

    Good Evening,

Some time ago on these august pages, I wandered off on one of my usual rambling and inconsequential stories and somehow came to mention the pupils and teachers of the former St Augustine’s in Milton.

To my surprise there were many former pupils on here who readily remembered and recognised some of the people I talked about.

However, what became abundantly clear was that amongst virtually all who took the trouble to post, one teacher stood out in the memory– and that was the delectable Miss Ord of the P.E. Department.

Now I have to be slightly careful of what I say here because Moira Ord has been a friend of mine for very many years despite being— ahem— a good deal older than a mere stripling like myself.

However, that does not take away from the fact that I fully recognise that the reason that the young Miss Ord was so readily and immediately appreciated and remembered with great fondness by many of the patrons of this here blog was because she was—— a bit of a babe in her heyday!!!

That being so, I now wish to appeal to your sense of decency and charity– but if necessary to the remnants of your juvenile indecency and memories—– because Miss Ord needs your help!

The lovely Moira has undertaken an immense challenge:

2 years ago she agreed to support/ sponsor/adopt a young 8 year old girl – Wasilla – from Niger, who lives with her grand-parents in very poor conditions. She lives in extreme poverty and is fortunate to go to school.

Moira sends a regular monthly donation to World Vision for Walissa’s upkeep and there is regular communication – mixture of French / English – between Wasilla and Moira.

    So far so good.

However, along with others Moira decided to take up the Live Below the (poverty) Line Challenge – spending only £1.00 a day on food – UK equivalent of the extreme poverty line. Accordingly between Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May she spent £4.95 on food and survived – although she did lose 3lbs in weight!

    Again all very good.

Except that Moira Ord is now a woman in her 70’s. She is still a very trim lady, is unbelievably active in all sorts of things including the preparations for the Commonwealth Games ( she is a former International Netballer and a member of the Sports Council for Scotland )– and although she does not like to mention it she was awarded an MBE for her services to sport.

Anyway Miss Ord is looking for donations and sponsors– far better idea than having a septegenarian starve herself to death.

    There are three links below:

The first takes you to the main world vision page:

The second takes you to the main live below the (poverty) line challenge page

and the third should take you to Moira’s own donation page.

If you can please give something– I know there are all sorts of claims on money these days but even a little here makes a difference.

And if you are not from St Augustine’s, Moira was also at :

St Margaret Mary’s Sec Glasgow – Head of Dept

PT Guidance – St Brendan’s High School, Linwood

Lecturer – Bedford College of Physical Education

and worked as a Development Officer at Sportscotland and The Prince’s Trust Community Venture Strathclyde.

Finally, if you don’t know her from any of these places then just give her your support as she is one of the world’s good souls.

Alternatively– just help her out because it is not often you get to help a babe from your youth!

    Cheers

That about sums it up, after Nimo Smith, serious questions should have been asked, but “nothing to see here” was the attitude.

In fact, the meek acceptance of the Nimo Smith white wash is partly why very few expect anything of substance AT any more.

Recently talking to a hun who still thinks clubs are going out of business is because rotten supporters are not going to SPL games, when asked if I thought the same I had to let him down easy, who gives a monkeys about yer hun shite, you don’t get yet do you, they’re DEED and if clubs can’t live within their means then hell mend them, they shouldn’t be relying on away support.
