BLANKETY-BLANK AT DENS: CELTIC THREE AHEAD

PHILIPPE CLEMENT watched his Ibrox side fire blanks in the scoreless stalemate against Dundee at Dens Park tonight.

The draw leaves Celtic three points ahead with both clubs still to meet in the final derby encounter of the campaign at Parkhead on Saturday May 11.

The Govan club now have five games to play – the same as the champions – and they blew the opportunity to cut the gap on Tayside against eager opponents who had a ‘goal’ ruled out for offside in the first-half.

Amoudo Bakayoko turned a close-range effort past stranded keeper Jack Butland, but the standside linesman flagged for offside and referee Don Robertson and VAR official Alan Muir agreed with his judgement.

It’s the first time the Ibrox side have failed to win in three successive Premiership games in just over five years.

Clement has seen his side rely on a stoppage-time goal to salvage a 3-3 draw with Brendan Rodgers’ side at Ibrox before they collapsed to a 3-2 loss against Ross County in Dingwall at the weekend.

The Belgian appeared transfixed as his team looked devoid of ideas against Tony Docherty’s side who had their chances to pile on the misery as the Govan title challenge fades as the pressure mounts with the finishing line in sight.
