Motherwell fought tenaciously for most of the game at Celtic Park this afternoon but a momentary lapse was all that Georgios Samaras and Gary Hooper needed to settle the contest. Celtic moved an astonishing 23 points clear at the top of the table and are odds on favourite to become champions before the next return to Celtic Park.
Samaras was first to show after 9 minutes when he latched onto a Matthews flick but Darren Randolph was quick off his line to block. Player of the Year elect, Charlie Mulgrew, then jinked past a defender before slipping the ball to Samaras. The Greek’s shot was block and Mulgrew blasted the rebound wide. Randolph then saved well after Samaras shot from inside the D.
While Celtic always looked dangerous, Motherwell were in no mood to concede, so the goal was surprising in its simplicity. Adam Matthews fired a throw-in to Samaras, who chested the ball into the path of unmarked Gary Hooper. Hooper put his laces through the ball from a narrow angle to give Randolph no chance.
Samaras, Hooper and Forrest all had chances to finish the game off but the second goal never arrived.
Good defences are a lot harder to quantify than poor defences. Today Celtic strolled through the game at the back. No one was stretched and Fraser Forster didn’t have a save to make until the 77th minute.

Is their any resale value in asbestos?
Did anyone else hear keevins on Snide talking about the fantastic turnout for a mid week game between the mothers and hibs on Thursday night?
Could it have had anything to do with the fact the mothers could be looking at 2nd place? A potential CL spot?
Welcome to our world Hugh…….

Hyperventilating mate, I am so charged that I will explode the day they are liquidated and as I said I am quietly confident this will indeed happen. I will not need any champagne or alcohol, I will be so high on the adrenalin rush…

HH from a bright and sunny NE Scotland. Glad to see NL taking the muppet Hately to task. Good luck to ICT, it will be interesting to see if they retain their application and endeavour for getting stuck into teams from Glasgow? I think not.
Nope! There is no sign of it wearing off.
This deep deep feeling of exultant joy.
Just thought I’d share :)
Coorslad it was a one off meet, I was upstairs wae the Doire no 1 Celts.

The arrival of DD must have worried moonbeams no end, because he was richer.
The 6-2 game must have caused him great consternation but being ‘still game’ he went and spent £12m.
Halifax merging with his pals at the Bank of Scotland and subsequently upon examination of MIH and Rankers accounts moving all control of them away from the masonic mafia up here must have made him nervous and twitchy.
So what did DM do ?
He installed place people with their hands on the levers of power and influence through the sfa and the media because they the Peepul had to prevail at any price.
It’ll be amazing to see just how obvious this all becomes as the veil is torn aside.
That’s what i think

Do the Orcs kick off at 12.30 or 12.45? i need to let the ice cream thaw a bit and want to time it right

What’s the poppy story? My great grandad, grandson of an Irish immigrant, was killed in 1915 and his name is on the Cenotaph in Levengrove Park Dumbarton.
I should be interested to find out if a (much maligned, rightly or wrongly) charity for old soldiers has been abused for the purpose of faux jingoistic posturing.
Good to see Neil bitch slap hately, know your place hun, your nothing to us.
A thought occurs:
What if Sebo got an EBT or a second contract?
The gift that keeps on giving.

No story just a rumour at the moment, we all have our fingers crossed that it turns out to be fact.
Where are all those folks now…. who would come on here and dismiss the cheating Celtic have faced (these past few seasons in particular)
Are you still to be convinced ?
I work with a guy who STILL laughs at the thought…..
Never mind he’ll be going into his pocket when the Huns are wiped out by Hector.

Spot on. When the truth comes out I believe this has been a coordinated sting on Rangers FC and Murray is the architect of this scam. He was in total control and him and Muir must have hatched a plan to get Lloyds their £18m.
Wonder how much Muir got from Lloyds for getting them the £18m????
Scumbags like Bain should also be looking over his shoulder. He lives in Scotland and we should be letting him know it’s not acceptable to screw Rangers over
He’s been sucking Rangers dry for years – he was on the EBT so his £600k salary was also tax free as well as any other bonuses.
Bain is an imposter and was also shite at his job and Lieswell ran rings round him.
I posted yesterday the new board need to be appointed for their love of Rangers and not their love of money and perks of the job.
The fans should not allow a repeat of the gravy train mentality that the Rangers Directors have been enjoying.
People like Bain, McClelland, McIntyre should NEVER be allowed back at Ibrox – they are parasites who have bled Rangers dry
How can they sleep at night knowing full well that they are responsible for this disaster that is unfolding in front of us.
As for the main culprit Murray – he is another shyster who has dumped the club onto that ***t Whyte and Murray should be outed if we can prove he has been scheming to get rid of the £18m debt and liability for the Big Tax case.
Should really tale it easy on hateley.
He’s obviously still on stage 2 while the rest of TFOD are now on stage 3.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I wonder if there’ll be a comical Paisleyesque firebrand figure who’ll rally ra peepul into a Eugene Terreblanche style finale on the steps of Holyrood as fat eck tries to stitch his fabric of scottish society back thegither ?
I think I’ll lay off the jelly and ice cream today and switch to shortbread and whisky.

I don’t read the s & dr, but read NEIL’s commendable rebuff of HATEley’s unintelligent / pathetic rant….how can anyone criticise Celtic for ranker’s potentially illegal cheating, resulting in TAINTED trophies, and resulting in putting all other SPL teams under extreme financial difficulty over many years…….good on Celtic for refusing to allow rankers stupidity to influence our Financial Strategy…….
Hateley was simply ‘currying favour’ with the baser elements of their support….the rest will know what he’s up to………pathetically comical…!!
HATEley = FUD = Fekin’ Unbelievably Dense
Kenny McDowall and Jimmy Bell (Kit man) would be two welcome redundancies to start with.
