South African news outlet IOL insisted fans should “remember the name” after Baartman became the second youngest goalscorer in the country’s top-flight.

Sean Connor, Cape Town Spurs’ technical director, witnessed the kid’s first strike and added: “I think he showed that he’s more than capable of playing at this level.

I don’t want to get too exuberant about him. He has great potential and a great future, as long as he keeps working as hard as he can, as he’s doing at the moment.”

The champions’ talent scouts believe he is one for the future and will continue to keep a close eye on the teen as the season progresses.
