Celtic in Group of Champions

918

Celtic join Barcelona, Milan and Ajax in the Champions League’s only group of former champions.

We beat Barcelona and Milan the last time we played each of them, and eliminated Ajax from the same competition last time we met 12 years ago. This is an incredibly difficult group, but it is the job we wanted this time yesterday.

Now we must get ready for the task ahead.  Prepare properly and fear no one.

There will be a ticket scramble, among those who didn’t renew their season tickets………..

NFL has already said he brought virgil in to partner, Wilson, so it appears it’s virgil and another. Efa would be my choice too. i’d throw either lustig or Charlie in when injury/ suspension or where formation requires 3 centre backs.

tbh once all our players are back and we have signed a of other players, we’ll have a good team on our hands. time will tell if its better than the one occupied by Wilson, victor and hooper, lets hope so

“thanks for posting that, I listened often to the Four Green Fields clip with Tommy Mackem reciting that very poem, and I didnt have a clue where it came from.”

A favourite of mine too , as my blog name suggests.

  5. Ghuys,

Always liked Effe , however on Wednesday he was the spare man with plenty of time on his hands , as Mikal shackled a very ponderous Shakter centre forward. Against teams who think they are better than us Effe will be given very little room to play out of defence.

Getting the 2 centre halves right over the next 3 weeks is the priority, I trust that the messing about by Virgil in the pre-match warm-up is his way of relaxing , as we need this ghuy switched on over the next few weeks.

  6. Greetings fellow Tims,

The euphoria has still not worn off, although the voice is a wee bit better and lubricated.

    Auldheid:

First of what thinking Celtic Supporter ever trusted what was written in the Celtic View.

I personally gave up buying it when I was sixteen and no longer covered my walls with the pictures.

Secondly, I remember an e-mail I sent you around the time of Dallasgate when there was a lot of dancing in the streets and likewise on the blogs. It was around the time when Celtic Supporters were being accused of making death threats to SFA officials.

I remember then the reaction from official Celtic.I remember the reaction to the 5 way agreement, I remember well the reaction to Campbell Ogilvie being re-elected unopposed when at the very, very, very, very, best he was at best very, very, very, very forgetful and incompetent; and at worst…. I remember quite a lot but I’d rather not list them all here.

I can remember all their words verbatim, it’s not very hard to do ‘cos there were none.

I remember saying I’d keep my champagne on ice until Ogilvie is gone.

The only reason I don’t say anything is because I don’t want to inadvertently hurt my club.

I know the SFA is a nest of vipers, they’re also very good at breeding. I wonder if they would procreate so freely is Robert Kelly or Fergus McCann were still in charge.

I do bite my tongue a lot mate but our board has an obligation not just to this generation but to all the generations to come. What they do in this decade could very well reverberate for decades to come. They’re only incumbents, not despots, after all, but they often appear to behave like a rump parliament.

Apologies for the short odds selection last week fellas.Boylesports and Powers had the thing priced up at 9/2 when I posted it.

    Good luck everybody.

  9. Morning napsters.

Early hill climb on the card so I’ll get my selection in early. Going against 16 roads in the 2 35pm Kilarney with “Now this is it” at 12/1, and think its an excellent each way bet albeit in a very competitive race.

He gave the talented Sea Lord a good race at Perth, and 12/1 seems a nice price to me given he has probably got the ground he’s been crying out for. Can’t see the 12/1 being around too long.

    Good luck bhoys. Happy punting.

  10. Sun Central 3 30pm Chester and Shoegazer 3 55pm Newton Abbot were the 2 that I thought about jinxing before opting for Now This Is It. If all 3 win I’ll be happier than Peter Lawell was on Wed.
