Celtic in Group of Champions

918

Celtic join Barcelona, Milan and Ajax in the Champions League’s only group of former champions.

We beat Barcelona and Milan the last time we played each of them, and eliminated Ajax from the same competition last time we met 12 years ago. This is an incredibly difficult group, but it is the job we wanted this time yesterday.

Now we must get ready for the task ahead.  Prepare properly and fear no one.

There will be a ticket scramble, among those who didn’t renew their season tickets………..

Efe is one of our better players, He’s inclined to make the odd mistake, but he’s class, I think he’ll improve with every game and become one of our star players, only to be sold on in a couple of years time. He’s a full international player of many games, and seems to cruise through them.

Back in 1999 at the Southern Hemisphere CSC convention in Perth, Billy described Celtic as not just a football club but a feeling, I don’t think that I have ever heard anyone so aptly describe what Celtic means, better than Billy McNeill.

Sorry, don’t agree……NEIL confirmed that we are trying very hard to get players in…….I think he was alluding to the LL …… before oldco died, they were given all th confidence- building help possible (only to still fall flat on their face …LOL) whereby the anti- all things Celtic agenda is still ‘alive and kicking’ ……. But our day has come, and they know it…..IMO sevco will fold in December, when the institutional investors ‘cash-in’, and exit stage left….!!!!

  14. Just coming down from Wednesday night and thought I’d like to make two points (which have probably been said before).

Goals 1 and 3 arrived in time added on – time-wasting in first half, feigning injury both halves – served them bloody right. Poetic justice of the first order!

Last year I was telling everyone around me in 104 that NL and the team had unearthed a gem, for hee haw. It’s said that Charlie Mulgrew is on Neil’s team sheet every game, well Mickel Lustig MUST be right up there. He is so secure in defence, hardly loses a ball in the air despite not being the biggest defender in our team, and the reaction of the guy after the final whistle had me worrying about his health – I thought he was going to blow a fuse as he ran and jumped and punched the air along in front of the North Stand. There’s a guy who gets it and he would be in my team, somewhere, every game.

God it’s great being a Tim!

    ——

“Could it be an attempt to flush out the rhat? Surely the club having accounts “leaked” before them being released to the stock exchange is clearly a crime? It’s an equivalent of insider trading.”

    ——

OK i am going to show the members of our board how you find out who the leak is, if they want to. Unfortunately, I have had occasion to use this method and it works very well.

Firstly you need a document that you expect to be leaked, in this case the accounts.

You make a list of everyone who should get a copy, and advise them that they do not pass the copy to anyone. In each copy you put in a deliberate spelling mistake (different in each copy), you note the spelling error in your register.

Should the document be leaked and published you can confirm the source of the leak and sack their sorry a***.

    Its as simple as peas…”

  17. I contacted P.Power this morning, they are aware of the disgust in the country and are dealing with the matter internally and will issue a statement in due course.

  18. I like Efe, he’s a footballer. Yes, he frightens us at times, but I think that with a solid CH beside him, and flexibility from the full-backs, we will prosper.

When he breaks from the back, he will attract a midfielder from the opposition, so that will leave a space we can exploit: we need our midfield to move for him, to make themselves available. Sounds simple (that’s why I’m not a player or manager), but I feel that generally our off the ball movement should be better.

They are still spendin’ money like drunken sailors, because Mr Creosote believes they are Rang##s and have to act with unsurpassed dignified dignity.

They spent 500k on a bus to take them to Cowdenbeath.

They have a game at Stranraer so they choose to break the journey with an overnight stay at Turnberry.

They have learnt absolutely nothing from their past mistakes, and are heading down the ole plughole at a rate of knots.

  21. Morning all

Delighted with the prices for the 3 game package, flying early tomorrow but going to Stan’s game on the 8th so can pick mine and Leaf juniors tickets up then. Been worried that I would have to try and find an internet café when on holiday!

28 quid to see Barca is amazing value as it was last year but I would argue we are getting more value this year as Milan replaces Benifica and Ajax replaces Spartak Moscow so the pedigree of team (in my opinion) is better.

If you take out the extraordinary items in the Rangers accounts — such as the revaluation of the ground etc ( we all know what if fetched the last time )— then the figures are atrocious.

    Absolutely atrocious.

It is a business with no operating profit and no prospect of actually making any money whatsoever.

It has no player assets, and so must get cash in from elsewhere.

That means another share sale or the sale of other assets as Paul67 described some time ago!
