Really enjoyable first half performance,
Denayor after a couple of early frights has grown into the game. Looks strong, assured, comfortable, and a natural centre-half.
Mulgrew plays best when in a deep lying midfield role when he has time and space on the ball, showing his range and accuracy of passing well.
Berget looks a totally different player to the one we saw in the Legia first leg. He’s a busy player, showing all over the pitch and combining well with Izzey.
McGregor looks like a real prospect, sharp and tricky.
More of the same second half.
I posted the other night (tongue in cheek) after the St Johnstone game that if Ronny wanted my approval he would have to go through the league season without conceding a goal
Looks like he has taken up my challenge
The reassuring thing for me is that we have pressed United so far up the pitch and our passing has been crisp. What was lacking previously in players moving off the ball has been massively improved with darting runs and making themselves available for a return ball which has kept United very much on the back foot.
Keep it up Bhoys.
We know United are pretty good going forward so we have attacked them at their weakest point which is clearly at the back and played the game our way.

i don’t mind getting up at 4.30am to watch Celtic play like that! the players are working hard, playing sharp quick passes and look like they are enjoying themselves. I’d like to see Biton in midfield for more balance.

Lost my CelticTV stream before 2nd goal and haven’t got it back yet. What I saw up to that point was encouraging, although it seems from the comments that we have stepped up a gear. Like both Berget and Denayer. Berget looks to be a classy player – we just need to figure out how to get the best from him. Denayer looks a similar player to Virgil, with good strength and pace.
Best performance for quite some time.
VVD mark II took his goal exceptionally well and looks every bit as good as his partner.
D Utd not pressing us in midfield letting SJ run the show.
Pass marks all round.
CG looking sharp off his line in goal.
I like Bergets as he is simple and effective and unlucky off the bar near the end there.
Even Efe is looking class with a nutmeg even early in the game.
No negatives at all for me and more of the same second half please.

After the Legia game, the comments were that Ronny had lost the dressing room. Well he has found it and has it in his back pocket. Can’t say how much I loved and appreciated first half. Hope we can keep it going.
