    I know GFTB!!

Not sure there would be much left between the fridge and him getting to me!!!

    Only kidding Gerry!

    Hope you are well Buddy!

  2. Very entertaining afternoon. The support in great voice and the team eventually turning their pressure into goals. Deservedly won well. Some great football throughout the match but especially when Tom Rogic appeared. Everybody seemed to up their game then.

    PHILBHOY,

I don’t wish to prolong yesterday’s argument. The song’s lyrics may well not have anything to get anyone upset about but in the context of the film itself (which was played out against the background of the rise of the Nazis) it was very very powerful, in fact, frightening on how evil can win. The feeling it gave me reoccurs whenever I hear the very phrase. That’s how it affects me.

So Brendan thanked every single Celtic employee in today’s programme for their contribution to this season’s success.

    He never mentioned The Rangers.

What a slur. Ra Peepil will be outraged.

  4. Philbhoy- i know you do as i met you both at McChuills…obviously left an impression. Lol :-)

But does his £2.5m salary epitomise the Walfrid ethos?

Does Brendan’s? Does any of the players? Should they all pay subs and someone take the kit home to wash it every week? (Remember to turn yer socks the right way oot after ye take them off, lazy bastards, or the muck won’t come oot).

How far do we take this?

  11. Philbhoy- naw, that was Gerry with a wig and stilettos oan. :-)

    Sorry Gerry! Lol

  12. At home visiting my sick mother and first thing this morning I visited the shop and picked up milk for the breakfast and grabbed a newspaper (Evening news available at 9am in my parish). My sister walks into the house an hour later with, Aye you guessed it a litre of milk and the same paper. My mother whispers to me that she always bets Lucinda Russell when she has an unoccasional flutter. After the game I went into Ladbrokes on Westmuir St. And stuck a tenner each way on One for Arthur and went into the Charlie to watch the race. £195 later I’m celebrating with the Bhoys in the pub when my sister comes in to tell me that she put a tenner each way on “Arthur” for ma.

You’ve not answered the question, my question was about his very high salary and how this fits with the Walfid ethos you asked me about last night. Again, does Brendan’s salary epitomise the Walfid ethos?

  15. Teuchter,

Seeing as how you’re in a happy frame of mind…

I saw BMCUW refer to you a short time ago as Sconie.

If you don’t mind me asking,…..did you ever post on the Old Firm Fans Forum under that name ?

If not, then accept my apologies for troubling you. ( he did say you were a crabbie auld geezer who had trouble with computers – or something like that )

Good to hear of your mammy’s ‘ good luck ‘ :-)

“But does his £2.5m salary epitomise the Walfrid ethos?”

His salary ,if it is as reported (I know guys whose wife doesn’t know their husbands salary) is what is the going rate 129 years after Brother Walfrid. Brendan’s gesture with money received surely does. (it’s reported he gave it to a hospice)

I thought you were on Chelsea but remembered that was the other night, GFS is great fun and an amazing cause, still gutted Harry Kane smacked the bar with last kick of the ball, but more importantly am a goal nearer you and I think after Tynecastle, you’ve already had your day :-)

I think golf is nauseating, especially playing, a good walk wasted, but can understand why so many actually enjoy it, but love the last day stuff, any fancies ? I usually try and pick a 20/1 shot who is 3 or 4 shots behind

For the record I have no problem with Brendan’s salary whatsoever. He is worth every penny and much more.

Right, golf underway. Masters Saturday is the best day because when it’s finished you’ve still got one day left.

  22. What a great day.

MWD – Thanks for the tickets, the olde fella really enjoyed the game, the wee guy as well. He saw just how good the Green Brigade support is as well.

What a player Tom Rogic is. He has the most sublime skills.

We would have liked to see Kieran take on the fullback a bit more. Eboue Kouassi played a peach of a pass with the small amount of time he had on the pitch and I have high hopes that he is going to be a quality Celtic player.

I didn’t bet on the Grand National – If I’d seen the name I would have. Dads name is Arthur. ;))

It was still a Great day!!!!!

Without boring the blog AC’s mother was my godmother, when Lennybhoy told me he knew her and went to her house as she wasn’t fit to go to Mass gave me a were shiver, in fact Coatbridge Paper Bhoy now residing in Australia seemingly grew up as their next door neighbours and knew all my cousins……. Small (Celtic) world :-)

You are more than welcome. Delighted to help a fellow Tim attend with his dad and his Bhoy.

Tom is a class act and so is Moussa. Tom slight of touch is outstanding an Moussa’s strength, directness and skill is fantastic. Good to see both back showing great determination to Brendan and us.

I forgot until today that I have a wee issue with vertigo.

Last time it affected me was in or around 1989 when it took BP on site fire service 3 hours to coax me down off a 200ft tower. Think I cost BP a wee bit of cash that day oor in Grangemouth.

But today sitting up in your seats at 33000 ft in the LL top tear top row had my heid in a wee spin wanting to take a run and jump. Had to move down a wee bit to where it was ok.

Sure I have asked you this before but exactly do you think the ongoing business model for Celtic should be?

This Board, or current custodians, of our club have reacted positively to the Ronnie semi final debacle, and provided the club through their decisions with a season that could end as one of our most successful in our domestic history.

We have money in the bank, a four year plan and a full stadium watching some of the best football since TB’s team.

If they have increased ST prices, for the first time in 3 years, I don’t see, in any way, what you find to moan about? Chill out and enjoy the ride,

    ——–

Firstly, my book increased in price last season and then again this season.

I’ll scrape together the cash to go watch my team.

My worry is that others won’t be able to and are priced out of doing what they love.

But the thread I’m picking up from you and your likes is “I’m alright Jack who cares about some fellow Celtic fans”.

It’s pretty saddening and disgusting that the greed of the club and selfishness of many, as it doesn’t affect them YET, sees excuses for our PLC’s greed and apathy towards fellow fans.

But you fire away. I’ll not be backing you when the board eventually prices you and your likes out. It’ll be exactly what you deserve!

No bona fide Celtic supporter, or CQNr would have have a problem with our Club’s present promotion. They would understand its’ the root philosophy. They would not attempt to smear Celtic FC with an allusion to the Nazis, via a musical written by two Jewish writers. That would come under the Ken Livingstone school of German history, ie disreputable. Then again no bona fida CQNr would several days ago insult and abuse a respected poster who knows far more about the contemporary history of Irish Republicanism than most on here. The posts in question, both made on the evening of the 4th of April, were removed so fast that their target did not even get the chance to see them nor any mention of said posts being removed by the Moderators, in that they did not post that they had been removed, nor the reason for their removal. Only Blantyre Tim, and Canamalar made some brief comments. Two longstanding posters are currently persona non grata on this dear green place for any offence that would pale by comparison. Paul, you were quick enough to close their accounts, why the reticence to explain why the posts of April 4 were deleted, and why similar action was not taken against those responsible for them.
