  1. Left a bit frustrated after that. Main thing though is 3 points in the bag and we move on. Motherwell just played to keep the score down and they succeeded in that, but it kinda fecked up the game.

  2. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

    2 going on 10.

    Good watch. Everyone played well.

The bookies were offering 150-1 on 8-0 and 300-1 for 10-0.

    Its Ginny happen

  3. Come season’s end Brother Beaton will be one of the favourites to take home the “Golden Apron Award”

You can get your money on it

  4. Straightforward and simple 3 points.

Tommy Boyd on Celtic TV repeatedly stating the ref is trying to even it up. Said any decision was possible after the penalty for hearts in the first game!

  5. Very quiet Live Updates thread. The football men at the game and the politicos, negatos and trollos have no interest in a thread where Celtic get the points.

I guarantee you if we had witnessed a draw or a shock Motherwell win, this place would be jumpin’.

  6. Fastest ever get away from CP- almost home before the radio had finished the classified results.

We were always in control though 1:0 left us vulnerable to a fluke goal.

Kieran Tierney off the crossbar was a memorable moment and he was a deserved MOTM. Lasley AND Mouult could have seen red cards but dor Bro Beaton.

Final mention to Jozo for another classy display. One more discounted project who has risen to look like the real deal.

  7. Watching Keiran get the effort in where he hit the bar, that is the kind of entertainment that fills football grounds. Just brilliant.

  8. Lasley & Co and ref Beeton represent all that is wrong with Scottish football

Dangerous lunging tackles ignored all day

Scott Brown yellow card for resisting a Well player who was actually trying to stop him from trying to take a quick thrown in !!!

Ref Beeton might get 4th shot at the goat for keeping the score down and no red cards for the “Steal” men

But a nice points against the, erm, “family” team

Well done & on to bigger fish, Celts !!!

  9. Well done the Bhoys !

KT for a goal v BM on Wednesday , he’s gonna terrify the Jerries with his Dazzlement !

He dazzled that ‘Well mob today.

    He’ll be a ” HUN DAZZLER” on Sunday !

Like everyone else, I hopewe can keep KT for many years to come, I predict if he stays he will be CAPTAIN TIERNEY in the next 3 years !

  12. Haven’t posted much lately because NOT BEEN ABLE to…

All sorts of problems logging in and “lost” password…

I like to comment during games … today, just wasn’t possible

Don’t even know what my “new” pwd is…

Main thing is pts and no broken limbs….

Scottish football will never progress with MIBs like that …

Henderson (among others) will be lucky to be walking tomorrow !!!

  13. Mild sweetie paper type rustling home win or the Hoops against hapless Motherwell who clung on to John Beaton, their only hope for 87 minutes. Less than a hundred away fans made the trip from Lanarkshire, and who could blame them when your only hope is thuggery and scoreline damage limitation.

The authoritiveless , very partially sighted SFA product ‘missed’ fouls on Celtic players with blind abandon until he was caught when Moussa Dembele outpaced the Well’ keeper leaving him with no option but to award Celtic a superbly taken spot kick with three minutes to go of his abnormal time.

Celtic lacked a cutting edge and BR will be slightly concerned at missed chances but not a lot, when he looks down on the rest from the top of the table, with goals to spare. Resting players at the start of a season defining spell, wasn’t much sweat of this squad’s back.

Always a slow burner after international travails, the highlight of the first half was Dembele’s sublime ‘dummy’ that allowed Scott Sinclair to side foot home into the untraditional first half Jock Stein end.

James Forrest had Well on toast and was backed by our new Cha Du Ri in the first half, but we lacked the killer finishes that had earlier ejected Mark McGhee’s side out of the League Cup. BR used all his subs and let Kolo Toure stretch his legs with ten minutes to go, just in case there were mibbery assisted manufactured notions of an undeserved equaliser.

    M.O.M James Forrest

  14. Lasley’s assault on Henderson is a sending off in any other country in the world, it didn’t even merit a free kick. Lesley has form for the late, studs up challenge, probably because he knows he’ll get away with it.

Moult’s petulant assault on Henderson seconds after the referee didn’t give him a decision is a sending off in any other country in the world, yellow card in SPFL.

  15. Dembele did well to win the penalty. Credit to him for chasing what seemed a lost cause in the opponents box in the final minutes.

Pride of place has to go to KT, what a genuine superstar. He would walk on to any team. Fervently hope we hang on to him for many years.

I’ve never understood why a Celtic player hasnt dished out a revenge challenge. The ref has set the scene and fair enough I can see why Brown wants to avoid a red card (with games coming up) but Henderson, Armstrong, just let rip, test the ref??

  17. Competent display. MIB was an absolute bar steward of the Jaffa Club. Allowed constant abuse of our players, ignored laws of the game and hoped that his free kick awards would lead him to instant promotion in the Ludge.

BR did right by bringing on Toure to allow us to defend high balls with more ease late on.

Excellent performances from Brown, Tierney and Henderson. The standing ovation for young Tierney brought a lump to my throat. That type of thing is what our club can do to people.

    Hail! Hail!

  18. Just returned from the game, job done onwards to Wed,young Tierney ah thing of Beauty is a Joy forever, on the other side of the coin,,Bhoy could we do with a Bertie Auld, or Davie Hay to sort out the so called hard men, if those assaults were committed on the street, they would be fitted with Bangles. As for Bro Beaton, just another Nailbag Wearer that we produce in this Wonderful Wee Bigoted country where we abide.

Fellow Celtic fans a shut out and move on to Wednesday…..

Corkcelt I thought you said you’d be happy with a 2nd goal, then we get that 2nd goal, some Celtic fans are never happy :-)

Anyway enjoy your weekend fellow Celtic fans, I have a movie night to look forwar too, lights out “Horrid Henry the Movie”

Vfr, if still awake at 10pm, I will try not to annoy anybody…… Just try, I can easily dissapoint

Petec – Brendan could be very special (no bad for a squirrel)

  20. Evening all.

Some great entertainment today. KT’s effort in the first half was simply brilliant. It would have been the goal of this or any other season.

Lasley sums up all that is wrong with Scottish football. Mind you, the MIB was a close second.

  21. Evening all

Main worry before game was that my sister going would jinx us – and longer it was 1-0 there was always a chance we could muck things up but really though the score was tighter Well was no less outclassed than last two visits.

Thought BR mucked the subs up a bit – would have kept Gamboa on – and we almost had too many attackers on for last quarter of game. Beaton shocking even by his standards. Jozo, Broony, Liam H and KT all very good with JF after a slow start close to being my MOTM.

Was going to say cannot wait until Wednesday but a wee trip to Gartnavel on Wed morning ( trivial reason but unlikely to be pleasant) means my stomach is beginning to flutter for cowardly reasons.

Good result and happy enough, but the overall performance must sharpen up – the reffing aside we looked half-cocked – Mothers offer nothing of quality just clugging spoilers who get away with murder all day

    Except Kieran who was outstanding

thought Liam handled the situation well despite sufering a string of dangerous tackles

Normally comment during games but tbh it’s a real chore navigating site now – phone is no go now as absolutely impossible to handle all the pop up and slooooooooowww loading and navigating.

    This ipad is barely tolerable-

Cannot wait to meet a real fitba team BMG in Midweek – then we will see our players share a platform to show their talent.

SFA – and their horrible refs are wrecking our game. It’s awful!!

Watching Scotland in last two games was horrid, we looked like Melborough, Tynecaster, Everpool or Walford Rovers ;big, brutish, ponderous makeweights against the style skill and athleticism of Melchester Rovers

When we were Kings Kenny Dalglish was Roy Race and everything and anything was possible.

The game is dying in Alba

The blog is almost impossible to follow now!

  23. Jim good luck on Wed without too much Payne obviously.

Today, good performance against the hammer throwers.

Lasley consistently going thru the man with studs – never even spoken to. Got Broonie 1st half and then Hendo 2nd half. Moult (i think) on Hendo (again) was straight red.

We got 2 bookings. Broonie for trying to get player oot his way and other yellow for a tug-back on half-way.

Same behaviour from Well, simply ignored. Handball, ignored. BB must have been ragin having to award pen.

As TET says, sort the refs……

  24. Delighted with today’s result. I didn’t share the optimism of some regarding a high score line, too often players come back from international games tired from lengthy travels. I think today we weren’t quite at our best but were never in danger of losing the game despite the best efforts of the referee.

I was in a corporate box for the first time ever today. Free booze and food and a padded seat thrown in.

A great experience but not for me every week.
