    HT,

I suppose the difficulty with the current system is getting onto the away games wagon without previous history. Until about four years ago I got tickets for them all , then mysteriously it all dried up. Can hardly get a ticket for most away games.

So it may be beneficial for me but how can you plan to run a CSC bus without any idea on the numbers being allocated

  2. Moved on from Bar 67….I’ve just time travelled back to the 1970s. …The Sarry Heid. ..armalites…weary provos going to sleep to the sound of bullet lullaby..you name it…tiocfaidh ar la

And women wae tattoos in places that they used to hide ….wow

    Awitre wan mare post.

    To HT.

You know the reasons better than most on here for the proposed changes to the away allocation of tickets.

I for one think that the way it is now is the best way. Years ago when Keith lasley was a lad I went everywhere, home and away never once got a ticket from Celtic in a “”” ballot “”””.

There wasn’t one it went to the favoured folk and clubs, disgusting if you ask me, you had to “Know ” the right person, however mate many many times I overcame this and still to this day go to see the team my wee da brought me up to support, not so much now to away games, but thats also about to change.

However my point is HT, dont let the change ruin your enjoyment of our great club. I could never imagine not going to see Celtic because some FWIT changed the rules.

Totally agree with you regarding young Kieran …He is what we want to be.

  5. Evening folks,

Young Kieran seems to improve every game I see him in. Remarkable to think how someone so young can turn out performances many experienced professionals would die for. His Messi like run when he hit the bar today was wonderful. He is maturing into a wonderful talent, and if he reaches his potential in years to come he will be world class.

Delighted at today’s result. Perhaps not up to the heights we have experienced this season, however with some players perhaps rested with Wednesday in mind and also taking into consideration the thousands of miles some of our international players have travelled, it was a good outcome.

And even when you consider the usual from Lasley and lenient refeering.

These are good times to be a Celtic supporter and I genuinely believe we are at the beginning of another golden era for the team and the fans.

    Long may it last.

HT in the posh seats – the horror!!!! :-)

One of my big brothers was a big shot and had corporate seats in the No. 7 Restaurant for 3 or 4 years, so I had a few shots at that.

Great for a one off, but all that free booze and top notch grub wears thin pretty quick – and I’m not being sarcastic about that.

Can’t beat being in among the punters – can’t really go some of the pretensions exhibited in the corporate areas.

That said, I did learn what an ‘Amouse Bouche’ was – so not an entirely wasted experience.

Will try to get along to the meeting on 24th re: away tickets – agree with your suspicions about the changes proposed – ballots have a strange way of favouring certain groups for ‘big’ games – me and Wee BGFC would end up only getting tickets for Kilmarnock!!

I emailed JPT, and he has replied asking for my views. I haven’t replied yet – still considering what to say..

  7. Prestonpans

Until the time you’re taking about Celtic used to send letters of notification for away games. That stopped and it was simply a case of buying tickets at the TO or buying online. It did take some getting used to.

The current system is based on attendance at previous away games.

So basically, if you’ve attended away games over the past few seasons then you have a better chance of tickets for upcoming games.

Personally, that’s how it should work.

  8. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Sorry – it was 50 SHADES OF GREEN that made the point about dodgy ballots.

I agree – seen it before, and don’t want it to go back to that ‘grace and favour’ method of allocation – no transparency.

  9. Saw Broonie come off the pitch still discussing tactics with 2 teammates. Liked seeing BR discussing tactics with the captain when wan of them went down with cramp. Constantly informing your team and teammates during a game is a huge improvement this season. SB a very trusted Lt. for Brendan. Hope its a long and successful partnership.

HT- i hope PL didn’t read your reply or he’d be planning the CTs downfall by supplying the soup! :-)

  10. VOGUEPUNTER, I think we are not alone.

Continuing my review, the centre backs, Simunovic and Sviachenko.

Joso adds the commanding aerial dominance that we’ve been needing. He is two footed with his distribution and enjoys marauding forward at the right time.

Erik seems to have reduced the rash challenges and perhaps benefitting from Joso and Kolo being beside him.

Also, Craig Gordon looks much more confident and his distribution was first class today.

  11. 50 Sades

My concern is that deals have been done in the background.

I’ve followed Celtic home and away for decades and it would honestly break my heart to stop going mate. Anyone who really knows me is aware of that.

However, it would be such a slap in the face that I wouldn’t be prepared to take any more.

  12. Haven’t read much about today’s game etc

One question – do we have a clean bill of health from today for Wednesday? I heard Lustig and Bitton were doubts but could have a chance , hopefully nothing new after today’s game?

  13. Gerryfaethebrig on

Broony is a legend in the making, the only people who don’t like Broony are people who don’t understand anything about Celtic……. Our captain is a far better player than many realise

As for the prawn sandwich Celtic (trust) guy……..he was always working his ticket to the heated seats :-)

  14. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry, unfortunately I couldn’t get into the same area as my dad today. him, the two other residents and the carers with them were in a wheelchair area close to the Standing section.

Junior and I met them when the mini bus arrived hen I met up with them after the game. My dad said he really enjoyed being at the game.

He couldn’t get over the changes in and around the stadium.

One of my proudest, if not my proudest day at Celtic Park. My dad my son and me at the game, even though we were not together, still a thing I will cherish.

  15. Midfield.

Already mentioned Hendo. Solid. Good game. More to come.

Stuart Armstrong just isn’t hitting the heights that I expected of him. A lot of what he does is ALMOST. Almost a good challenge. Almost a good run. Almost a good pass. Almost a good shot. I’m sure he has it. But maybe low on confidence.

Scott Brown is on fire. Playing better than ever. In all aspects. Including getting a yellow card for the the right reason. Took a sore one but didn’t seek retribution.

I’d say we missed Tom Rogic today. His particular brand of magic would have provided more chances.

Not sure we missed Bitton, though I’m happy for Brendan to give him a starting berth on Wednesday.

  16. I haven’t got any comment to make on the away ticket proposals as I don’t go to away games now.

Used to go home and away , every game.

Too expensive now . Just home games for me and junior.

How things change though and the comparable costs of say 30 years ago.

Me and Dad went home and away.

I had 3 sisters and mum didn’t work.

    Yet my Da afforded it.

I work , the missus works and we have 2. Kids.

    Simply couldn’t afford away games.

How did my Da manage it?

Used to be a real thrill picking up tickets at Paradise.

My Da picked them up for the club.

At times it seemed he had to plead with Jim Kennedy.

    Sometimes u saw Mr Stein.

On one occasion we met Mr McGrory.

The auld neighbour who have came with us for a hurl burst into tears!!!

Indeed , a club like no other !

And I wouldn’t change us for all the tea in china!

  17. Caught up on some highlights from today..

Wondering if left back is the best position for KT…. he might well move forward in the formation to great effect, he has the game to prosper, though not yet the physic.

Gareth Bale started as a left back and gradually moved forward in his teams formations. Not drawing a direct comparison between the two, but using the example to illustrate how players move as they develop.

What a rare talent. He is great to watch

  18. I thought Lasley had a great game today, he really set the tone for them. Motherwell were decent overall.

  19. BURGHBHOY on 15TH OCTOBER 2016 8:44 PM

Everyone makes sacrifices going to watch Celtic. Giving up on money, or time, or family etc is common amongst the majority of Tims.

I’m sure many have done more but personally I took up a second job just so that I could attend away games.

  20. So the Celtic Trust have a joint agreement with the Board and the next thing you hear is that HT is in the hospitality posh seats??

It’s Sami Chakarabaty in the House of Lords all over again :-)

Anyways, am I wrong or did we play a 3:2:3:2 system from 60 minutes onwards today?

    Totally delighted …..

3 generations of good Celtic fans, brilliant mate

    For me that’s my Celtic

  24. Good debate on KT, there is no doubt he can be what he wants to be. I feel a pride that a local lad can become such a player.

By all accounts from good stock and with a great attitude, he must be allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.

It is scary to think what he has achieved, good luck to him and his family. Even scarier to think where he could go…

  25. Haven’t read back yet or seen any of the game

    How did Henderson play ?

Was delighted to see him in the starting 11.. Really think there’s a quality there and hopefully Brendan can turn him into a regular.

  26. SFTB- Hami Chakarabaty surely! ;-)

Think yir right with formation. When Kolo came on it was assumed a back 4 would be the shape. But it wasn’t.

  27. Henderson done reasonably well imo, 6.5 out of 10. Broke up the play a few times, moved the ball around without doing too much. Lacks a little physically and picked up a daft booking. If you’re going to spend all day taking the ball off the two centre halves you need to be a player, no two ways about it. Hard to judge him on him today as we never left 2nd gear. I need a lot of convincing he is the answer, in a deep lying position of further forward. Incidentally i though we missed some of the Tom Rogic link up play today in behind the strikers.

  28. Thoughts on todays game, we appeared to loose our shape when we took off wee Gamboa and SA ( who looked well off the pace ). We have to convert more of the chances that we create, going into the final periods of games 1-0 is not comfortable especially when we have no cover at RB , this game should have been put to bed much earlier.

I know its another game won and 3 pts gained and its hard to be to critical, but the midfield didn’t work for me today .

  29. December, 8 league games in 28 days, (4 home, 4 away), plus a CL group decider away to Man City.

Heavy, heavy schedule before a very welcome winter break.

Just as well all the league fixtures are against likely bottom six clubs!

Anyway today showed that we have a squad to cope.

    Starting eleven today plus

Kolo, Griff, Bitton, Roberts, Rogic, Lustig, then

McGregor, Izzy, Christie, O’Connell, Commons as back up!

Am not sure how any of our parents afforded what they gave us, back in the day I never missed an away game, ticket fae from whatever supporters club (mainly St James’s) AG would get tickets for a papal mass in the Vatican (face price) if you needed them………these days thankfully we don’t have to struggle as much but back then I think our parents were the miracle workers

  31. HAMILTONTIM

I can understand your viewpoint, but as PETEC says, howwwevvva …..

If you don’t have a “history” of away games it’s almost impossible to break in and get that history. I would be in favour of a percentage of away tickets being held over for a free ballot. This allows the bulk of the regulars to get tickets but allows people to break into the regular away game attenders.

As for KT, best full back we have had since Daniel Fergus. Looks like Danny has been giving him personal coaching!

Last game I seen him come on for us.,. Maybe a friendly he was excellent.

Centre circle and picking out excellent passes.. Reminded me of gerrard under Rodgers. If Brendan can turn him into half the player we will be lucky.
