Celtic have replaced a ball winner, with a ball player and have played too much football in an over elaborate first 45.
The game is crying out for one pass less, and simple shots on target, Guidetti has toiled to be a sharp in thought as the myriad of ball players,backing him up.
Thistle play a modern defensive line up and the 4 -5-1 breaks fast and Craig Gordon had a tremendous save to keep it level.
The penalty was a result of sheer intensity from Celtic, but Thistle can consider themselves unlucky.

Very good game with plenty of Celtic possession and creativity. Sending off and penalty will change second half, I reckon. Not a great crowd, I would subscribe to Celtic TV if it showed matches live. Instead, I am watching it via a good quality stream. Think again Celtic. I would think nearly all Irish and other British Isle Celts would pay the annual subscription if we could watch the matches live.

seriously …. a foul in the box is a penalty … fair enough … but to lose a player as well as a penalty seems harsh to me …. and can ruin the game as a spectacle…
My idea … if the foul is outside the box, it is a red and a sending off … if it is in the box, the attacking team should be able to elect either a penalty or a sending off …. depending on the score/time of game, the attacking team can elect whichever they think would be better for them.

The one about the double jeopardy situation pen and sending off! The type of standard radio shortbread whenever it happens against Celtic. As it happens I agree with you, especially when it is for a first half penalty. Often wondered whether we should have a pen and a 10 minute sin bin instead or something similar.

Thought the Bhoys were going to slaughter this lot the way things started but then we started to run round in circles.
PT to their credit have been very good.

The penalty/sin bin idea is worth a shout as well. …. but, perhaps, we’ll wait to change it – at least until Celtic have the 3 points wrapped up today!
Can’t agree on changing the pen / red card thing.
Denying obvious goalscoring opportunity is a red card offence, doesn’t matter whether in or outside the box.
A foul committed inside the box is a penalty.
The choice doesn’t belong to the team doing the attacking, it belongs to the team doing the defending. Don’t foul in the box, no penalty and no red card. Yes, you might lose a goal, or the keeper might save it. Better to be 1-0 down with 11 men than with 10. Your choice Mr defender.

I take your point but we’ve all seen the soft decisions that have changed a game, I remember heid getting sent off early on at tynecastle a few years back, also with strikers being so good at hanging a leg out and creating a foul it is harsh to end up down to 10 for half a game on those circumstances,
