Celtic with a an outlet for frustration

194

Current form is not required to provide a bit of nervousness for visits to the Tony Macaroni.  Our three visits since 2007 have returned two draws and a defeat to Livingston, Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic’s goals on our last visit are the only times we have scored in that period.

Having watched Livingston and Hibs face an equally depleted Celtic in recent days, it was clear which team is stronger, although my interpretation is not supported by the bookies odds on which of them is more likely to lift the League Cup.  Livingston failed to win their first game in nine against Celtic, for any team, they are remarkably strong.

Plastic has not been our friend in West Lothian or Ayrshire, while indiscipline, in the form of a red card-inducing lunge by Ryan Christie last season didn’t help either.  Both factors can be mitigated.

Our recent visits to Livingston and their current form have no relevance for Celtic tonight.  We have a significantly stronger squad who have a point to prove.  All that frustrated energy that was evident in Neil Lennon and no doubt exists with the players has an outlet.  No excuses tonight, Celtic, get the job done.

I believe Livi will have about 8 changes tonight. They are putting more emphasis on Sunday.

So tonight’s game doesn’t really matter to either team then? -)))

Everybody knows we need a new manager, but these so called Celtic fans continually putting the boot in to Neil Lennon – spoiled brats every one of them – they should join up with the ‘the rangers’ fans who also love putting the boot in to Neil, march on Celtic Park unified – a united Old Firm – waving banners demanding Neil leaves Scotland immediately – well done Neil, you have finally united the Old Firm in a common goal, for that you should be made a knight of the realm – or even better – Sir Neil Lennon!

Only problem with that plan is that we’ve created nothing in the last 270min.

    Nothing from open play.

  4. Maybe my standards are too high but playing league games at home I’m expecting 12+ decent attempts at goal, 1 that I don’t even remember against Livingstone does not fill me with confidence.

How many did Hibs and Livi have on ours?

I would guess not, they board does not have a plan, they making it up as they go along.

We’ll need to get them all on with Dara O’Briain.

    watched FM question time today…

anyone asking a tough question didn’t understand the process or the details and should really be swotting up before asking such a question, clear intent – humiliate the questioner,

anyone asking an easy question – “do you trust Westminster First Minister” – all sweetness and light when answering with a big smile on her face,

very intersting, reminded me so much of my old school teachers…

Politicians doing what politicians do, surely that is not a surprise to you? The quality of politician we have in Scotland is pretty poor generally, look at the labour leader competition, the FM usually wipes the floor with the opposition every week.

If that was news to you you haven’t been paying attention.

The standard of politician across all parties throughout the UK is abysmal and has been for years.

I think the decline started when those who experienced and were shaped by the 30s and 40s started to die off.

I didn’t realise that was normal fair, basically she just gave them a bit of a row for asking such a ‘stupid question’ and then moved on to the next questioner, i don’t normally watch that stuff and found it surprising.

Over to you to manage the fall out.

    “And kee-eeeep kicking!”

  14. Neil Lennon’s response to the British press and others in recent days was not exactly unexpected, he is an Irishman and has had to deal with some nasty stuff during his time at Celtic, what else would you expect.

letr’s hope the team show the same spirit in to-night’s match at Macaroni.

Note to self, humour is in short supply due to continual stay at home lockdown.

Chris Jullien wasn’t really playing musical chairs on the coaches.

It seems he happened to sit in different seats on different journeys hence the large number of close contact players who had to self isolate.

Maybe I should have said ‘on the buses!’

Sure it was tongue in cheek. Of course it was.

  17. For those unaware ( not many I suspect), all FM Questions are issued to her office the day or two in advance and her reply -and follow up replies -are all prepared and cleared by her team, SPADS and government officials.

  18. CELTICFOREVER

I don’t think it’s being alleged that big Julien swopped seats on the same bus trip, rather it is that he took different seats on different trips, thus possibly affecting more colleagues. I have no idea if either scenario is true or not.

  19. Football is a results business. However, we need a performance tonight. The players have not been performing recently and I hope Lenny’s angry Press Conference produces a performance from our players. If our players feel as the manager does that we are being held to a different set of rules, then they may produce the anger needed to perform.

A meek Celtic team going through the motions is not what we need.

I said earlier I think Broony might lead us out tonight.

A strong, hungry Broony looking to right a few wrongs maybe.

  21. jimbob71 & little Miss jimbob

I would like to see that. We need his drive and presence which at present is probably the only thing Soro doesnt have because of his age. Obviously we need a forward or 2 on – Griff probably and I would put Barkas back in goal. But I hope he doesn’t put Frimpers at right back – they will just give him the ariel bombardment.

  22. Markiebhoy

    I’d expect 5 changes

    Berkas

    Ajer

    Christy

    Eddie

    Griff

    For

    Hazard

    Bitton

    Mickey

    Frimpong

    Rogic

  23. Neil was certainly no shrinking violet with the British press as you would expect and I agree Broony and the lads we hope will show the rejuvenated form which we saw in the games prior to Dubaigate.
