Celtic Park was packed with an expectant crowd 11 years ago when Celtic took a two goal lead into the second leg of a Champions League play-off round. Many of us felt it was to be a sort of Coming of Age. After our long hard slog throughout the 90s we were champions and ruthlessly swept aside Ajax in the first leg.
After the full time whistle arms were aloft in celebration but only after an incredibly tense 90 minutes which saw the visitors win the game and fail to convert some decent chances.
Four years after our last entry into the Champions League this new Celtic side have a Coming of Age opportunity tonight. Last season they showed their mettle to overcome a daunting deficit early in the season to win as comfortable champions, with or without penalties applied to opponents for employing more footballers than they could afford.
While the players may reach a new stage in their development tonight is as much about the supporters who have been part of the struggle in recent seasons. This is your reward for all those hard times when your club paid their bills but had victory snatched away from them by others who were playing to different rules.
Bring your singing voice tonight.

Why would they do that ?
Thought I heard the ramsdens cup theme music there but it was just the ice cream van
not sure but i thinkv thats what they do when they are showing the match on sky sports however if you can get RTE on terestrial you should be ok
Feeling ludicrously excited and nervous.
Best of luck to Neil and the bhoys…
Hope you all enjoy the game tonight and that we are all talking about the possibilities for the CL draw all day tomorrow! 2-0 Celtic!

sky will block RTE once the game starts

nonsense.
Why would they do that?
RTE have bought the rights to the game.
They show CL games on a Wednesday and TV3 will show the Tuesday games, plus Europa League games on a Thursday.
Please stop posting duff gen on the blog, when many lads are seeking ways to watch the games.
It’s not big and it’s not clever.
Muscat_Bhoy1264:
No idea about venues to see the match where you are but if you have broadband you need to google ‘football streaming information’.
Cheers…
All the best to the bhoys tonight lets hope it’s another special Celtic park European night for all the fans.I hope the Helsingborgs fans enjoy the special atmosphere but not the result.
McCourt for 7
I was there at the temporarily relocated Oslo CSC. We’re taking some pictures tonight to put on our website. Have a look tomorrow if want to know what a £10 pint looks like.

I encountered what follows in some strange parts of the world, places that if you saw a cactus shaped thus in a window, told you a lot about the place, its proprietors, clientele and the murky goings on behind the cover of a horticulturist’s facade.
I never thought I would see it in Glasgow.
At first it was the Celtic Shirt that caught the eye, and then as I was about to go in to Babbity Bowsers at 14.19 hrs today, the cactus caught my eye and a cold shiver ran down my spine reaching parts that neither Heineken nor a spiny cactus would ever reach.
The questions were clear and demand answers:
1. Who was the Celtic top wearing boozer in Babbity’s?
2. Was he a CQNer?
3. Did he understand the significance of the cactus shape?
4. If he did, can he post pictures of what he got up to?
5. If he wants me to keep quiet and delete the picture….old notes please, and lots of them.
Beware, you are never out of reach of Estadio and his SLR.
Spiny Painfulness and the secret life of CQN

duff? I have watched matches on RTE through sky before however when they conflict with what sky show theygenerally block the the RTE signal. Was nt my intention to annoy anybody sorry if I did.
TTT:
In fairness this is what it says against the programme on the RTE website:
“RTÉ Sport on Two: Champions League Live
Celtic v Helsingborg (Kick-off 7.45pm). Darragh Maloney presents coverage of the second-leg match in the play-off round, which is held at Celtic Park. Subsequent programmes subject to change
02:50:00 ROI Only [more info]”
Clicking more info takes you to a separate page (http://www.rte.ie/info/avfaq.html) which says this:
“Why is the availability of the service restricted in some cases?
For copyright reasons, in agreement with the associated rights-holder bodies, RTÉ.ie streaming content on the web in some cases can only be accessed from certain territories. Unfortunately users outside these territories will be unable to access this content.
How is access restricted?
Where access is restricted, the mechanism for doing so is based on the computer’s IP address. An IP address is the numerical address that each computer has on the web. It is provided by the Internet Service Provider (ISP). An ISP is the company that provides Internet connections to private and business customers. Examples of ISPs are Eircom, BT, Smart Telecom, UTV, NTL and Irish Broadband”
Apart from the obvious,a good result tonight spares the Thursday/Sunday routine of the EL.
Apparently Charlie’s chocolate factory (rusty sheriff badge or mouth you decide!) has just instructed his top PR man/slug Jabba to inform the loyal hoards that all these recent shenanigans that have happened over govan way were in fact a cunning and well thought out plan, and also an act of sash-swinging-brogue-busting-bravery.
He says that the queens non payment brigade don’t want to play in the Champions League anymore.
It would appear that they took mega-umbrage over Zadok’s method of earning a crust…
In Derry I get RTE via both SKYand terrestrial signal
Cheers West Wales Celt, nudge nudge wink wink.
But if anyone does know anywhete in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia that the game is on, let me know.
Just cracked the first can – should be fair steamin’ by 19:45!

I get RTE through my Sky box in Spain, which technically is in the Republic.
Anyone know of any RELIABLE streaming sites on the Internet? That is, ones where ya don’t have to fill out questionnaires and the like beforehand.

I’m sure that was posted here at the beginning of the week.

Sign up to StreamPro for one nights viewing.
It’s about £3. Very good quality.
There are about ten of us at work now watching Sky via it. It’s good.
You get all the Sky channels and every other premium channel as well.
Real v Barca on after Celtic game.
It’s a lot better than some of the ‘free’ streaming sites.

rothbhoy I understand they don’t like links etc for such things being posted, but if you were feeling like a VIP watch the BOX.
when you open a link for a game on the site do the following: wait about 30 seconds then move your cursor to the large X in the corner of the 2 boxes covering parts of the screen, but then wait for 1 second as the X’s have sneakily moved to the bottom left of the boxes.
All it is is that the advertisements want you to open them they cover the screen and when you attempt to close them the X moves!! If you do as I say the X will be smaller and down at the bottom left corner of box.
Slightly longwinded reply but wanted to make sure you never saw the annoying wee boxes and sacked it.
Their usually good for all football games and they cover other sports too.
hope this helps.
If I was a hun going onto cqn knowing how tolerant it is I’d at least want keep up my illusions of integrity by introducing myself thus-
Awrite ya taig bams you don’t half make up some shite about the sev..rangers so am here to keep you all in check and will not be kiddin’ on am wany youse!
That way you could at least have a fraction of respect for them.

If anyone is going on SSB tonight about sevco newco remind the panel of wee Fergus statement not long after taking over the club he said he could of saved a few million by not paying off the bank and taking over after liquidation but we would of lost our history. Also Charles Green been quoted as saying if the CVA fails we lose our history. I think these two know more than Wiggy
