It’s probably easier to start with what went right last night, than what went wrong. Efe Ambrose was the epitome of composure, trying to retain possession whenever possible, his transformation since Juventus has been remarkable. van Dijk, Lustig and Izaguirre each did well. Fraser Forster had a few saves to make, but this was one Champions League game he didn’t need to pull off a wonder-save. He was totally exposed for the goal but otherwise Ajax didn’t really stress the Celtic goalkeeper, a clue, perhaps, to the solid performance of those immediately in front of him.
Our top two Champions League performers, Georgios Samaras and Kris Commons, both put in their least effective game at this level. Samaras’ normally-reliable touch and ability to hold the ball deserted him, while Kris looked like a guy returning from injury. Slowly.
The minutia of these games are analysed by each team and after last month’s game, Frank de Boer clearly identified that Georgios was the major cog in Celtic’s machine. The striker was triangulated by opponents each time the ball came near him.
Neil Lennon was left with few choices in the middle of the park. Mulgrew and Kayal would not have been his first choice partnership, given a free hand, but the only practical change there would have been to introduce Joe Ledley. It’s far from clear what difference this would have made.
Celtic persisted in playing down the left long after it was evident this strategy was unproductive. Late in the first half one wag text me to say, “Time to bring Forrest on”, which told the whole story. Anthony Stokes was adrift, largely unconnected to the ankle clipping going on behind him. In short, our play was predictable and correctly predicted by do Boer. We didn’t have a Plan B, which even the best of teams need to avoid defeat occasionally in the Champions League.

Truth_beauty_freedom – a Celtic supporter’?
Yeeeeesss… Will Keech Jackson, the Gazza groupie, be spoon-feeding you yer porridge in the morning?
The Amsterdam polis – what a bunch of pussies; terrified of taking on their own Ajax nutjobs so they take the easy tourist target of the away supports.
We’re not the only ones in recent years. The statistics and event cataloging are catching up with them. Hopefully our organised supporters groups can put together a presentation showing the extent of their malpractice.
Glad to see the moonhowlers putting up a more stout defence of our Amsterdam vicTIMs, todays holier than thou mediocrity brigade was enough to have me falling out with so called tims, maybe that should be toms, making judgements on very selective images released for a singular reason ffs and there still Dreary Retard readers consider themselves balanced pillars of society.

Sannabhoy, aye please. I’ll take that. Is it the dropkick’s version? I’d love that as my tone once zadoc is rested for another campaign. You’ve got my addy so send it on when you get a chance.
BTW, next season I expect I’ll have another 50 million ZTP tones to hand out:-)).
Haw!!
Was scunnered I was missing the AGM, its probably best I miss it, I’m ragin the board never made an issue about the scum allowed by the FoCUS into our stadium for the first game but to sit on their hands and allow our support to be cast as the antagonists in amsterdam is getting too much, going on form, I expect the board to ask UEFA for a fine so they can join in the condemnation.
I hate trying to goto sleep when I’m raging but its probably best, time to make them dance to our tune
Support resolution 12
An extract from tonights statement by CFC:
“There is no question that Celtic supporters have been subjected to a high degree of provocation. Last week, our supporters were the target of missiles being thrown from Ajax supporters at Celtic Park, a night where 300 seats were damaged within the stadium.”
credit where it’s due
So, one week to go till the AGM but how much support is there for Resolution 12?
Lets have a show of monikers.
You too canamalar and lose the rage:-)
ACGR Supporting Resolution 12 with a Yes vote.
another quote:
“We would stress that there is no excuse for any form of violent conduct.”
…not so sure about that one…
acgr , emailsent .
nite nite
Richie, I agree with you on that one. That is a pathetic sound byte.
If I ever have the pleasure of meeting the swine who caused my family so much grief recently they’ll be having various violence visited upon them and I’ll have every excuse.
There was no need for that line to be worded the way it was in the statement.
ACGR
We’ll see if this works.

Happy birthday to my beautiful daughter. I know she would back resolution 12 if she was here with me now. I’ll turn over some shares to her at some point but her Celtic education still has some way to go…………………………unlike young acgr who already has a deep suspicion and loathing of all things hunnish and SFA’ish
Happy birthday princess ACGR, sring them war criminals high.

This is the clearest video I’ve seen from Amsterdam and it’s shocking, there’s litter everywhere. Tut tut.

If it is true that plain-clothed police officers attacked innocent Celtic supporters – from what I have seen, read and heard, I have no reason to doubt it – and the Celtic supporters defended themselves and came to the aid of their fellow supporters by attacking the police officers, then I take my hat off to them and say well done bhoys. Defending oneself against cowardly brutality is something to be proud of and nothing to be ashamed of.
One of the most despicable types of human beings on this planet is the one who abuses a position of authority to perform wicked acts on innocent and unarmed civilians, whether it be police officers or military personnel and whether it be assault, rape or even murder and regardless of where it happens in the world.
It is the remit of the coward and the bully and if those Dutch cowards in the police force are now licking their wounds, I say get it right up every last one of them.
Tonight after work I will be raising a glass to those supporters who decided to fight back. I have never been so proud of my fellow Celtic supporters.
Hail Hail.

Goodnight Cetic man and wummin.
Hail Hail
Shmarty pansh.
Its getting late.
IMO our team looked less fit than the other guys.
I didn’t pick the dutch as cowards. had a similar experience with the boys in blue when I was a student up the west end. brave plain clothes men with truncheons and major honners beat up drunk student. Real brave. I see they passed the tactic onto the Dutch Police force. Hope the 28 celts are safely back home. The price to pay for a few million into the local economy is a busy day for the clean up squad, so what, not comparable to Manchester where they destroyed anything they touched. They are surely clutching at straws, hope no-one on here actaully pays to get a deadly rangers newspaper. I am sure a few less Celtic travelling fans will want Ajax again. Ones called ronald. Hail Hail.
Mongolian buoy
Same point was made by me at HT….their players had a spring in their step. Their movement off the ball was endless. They always looked to make space and give team mate on ball an option to pass to.
When we had possession, our players looked like they had heavy legs, were far too static, and didn’t create space to receive a pass….hence we lost possession too easily.
Samara’s and Commons were obviously not match fit. Their lack of movement made it easy for ajax to mark them out of the game.
NFL footy finished. Bedtime for me.

Hi Gerry
Bi Gerry
Bi the way I agree with you.
There is in my opinion been a concerted effort by the msm to denigrate the good name of our club for a while now. I think it stems from jealousy because we are on an upward trajectory and the club they used to follow is deid.
Radar Jackson trying to equate Amsterdam to Manchester is proof of a hurting Hun using classic whataboutery. Talking of whataboutery, a work mate of mine and big pars fan told me of missile throwing and abuse being aimed at the Dunfermline fans from the sevco hoardes. When pars fans asked stewards to step in, they stood idly by as the abuse continued.
In another incident with another work mate who is an east fife supporter, again concerning the sevconians.
The home game where he is a season ticket holder there were a number of sevco fans in with the home fans. This caused some angry scenes when sevco scored but no action was taken by plod. This was in contrast to the previous week where an Ayr fan was forcibly ejected the week previous. You will not hear any condemnation from the msm media about any of these incidents.
I wonder why???
Good Morning Timland.
Some on here getting themselves in a tizzy over the msm
version of events in the dam………me not so…..you see I
don’t buy the rag’s,chucked it year’s ago and I’m better
for it……..no blood pressure problems…….better informed
…….more money in my pocket……it’s a dying industry anyway,
and please don’t give me lies must be challenged line…they
are always going to give their readership or at least the vast
majority of it, what it want’s to read……Celtic=bad, Sevco=good.

Totally agree. Personally i think it makes little difference if the plain clothed police identified themselves or not the Celtic support were defending themselves against an unprovoked assault by the Police.
As recent history has shown the Dutch aren’t the bravest lot – just mention Srebrenica to them.
Morning Bhoys and Ghirls
Happy Birthday to The Token Tim and miss ACGR. Hoop you both have a great day?
