DEADLINE COUNTDOWN: ‘WE’LL STAY ACTIVE,’ VOWS BOSS

1

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has five days left before the transfer deadline at midnight on Thursday.

The Celtic boss added Rubin Kazan winger Sead Haksabanovic during the week as his EIGHTH signing of this window – and there could be at least one more on the horizon.

Postecoglou, speaking to The Herald, said: “We’ll stay active.

WELCOME TO CELTIC…Sead Haksabanovic celebrates his five-year contract at the champions.

“There are a few days left and, hopefully, we’ll see what happens with some outgoings and if the right person or right opportunity comes along we may bring one more in.”

The transfer merry-go-round took its first spin on the final day of last season when Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton made emotional farewells in the 6-0 win over Motherwell on May 14 when the newly-won Premiership title was paraded.

Boli Bolingoli (Mechelen) and Christopher Jullien (Montpellier) also left on a permanent basis while the likes of Vasilis Barkas (FC Utrecht), Liam Scales (Aberdeen), Ismaila Soro (FC Arouca), Adam Montgomery (St Johnstone) and Osaze Urhoghide (KV Oostende) have moved out on loan.

WELCOME TO CELTIC…Alexandro Bernabei arrives after his £3.75million switch from Argentina.

Prior to the £1.7million arrival of Haksabanovic during the week, Postecoglou arranged permanent contracts for Filipe Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda.

The Hoops gaffer also paid £3.75million for Argentinian left-back Alexandro Bernabei, brought in free agents Aaron Mooy, the Australian World Cup midfielder, and Swiss keeper Benji Siegrist while landing German centre-back Moritz Jenz on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 outfit Lorient.

The countdown starts now as the window prepares to slam shut on Thursday night until it reopens in January.
