DEAL OR NO DEAL? ANGE REVEALS INS AND OUTS

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed he is satisfied with the four signings he has introduced to Celtic in this transfer window.

There will be no more recruits to add to Canada World Cup right-back Alistair Johnston, South Korean international striker Oh Hyeon-gyu and J-League duo Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata before this evening’s midnight deadline.

The quartet were fixed up early with Postecoglou making certain they had time to be integrated into his first-team squad.

So, unless there is an unforeseen u-turn, that is the incoming business taken care of until the summer.

ON THE BALL…new Bhoy Oh Hyeon-gyu made a quickfire debut at Tannadice.

However, there will be movement from the champions with Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis heading for MLS club Atlanta United when the £4.2million deal will be ratified once the visa is rubberstamped, as CQN reported this morning.

Postecoglou said: “There won’t be any other incomings. In terms of outgoings, there are still some things happening in the background but nothing confirmed yet.”

On Giakoumakis, the Hoops boss added: “We are getting to the tailend of it one way or another and we will get a conclusion in the next 24 hours. Nothing concluded yet, just ongoing discussions.”

Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with centre-back Stephen Welsh while James McCarthy, Yosuke Ideguchi and on-loan Oliver Abildgaard have been mentioned as possible departures.

Postecoglou, speaking to The Scotsman, added: “We have already brought in players to insulate us if guys who have not played a lot of football for us find other opportunities.

FORWARD PLANNING…Canada World Cup defender Alistair Johnston races into attack.

“It has to suit all parties, obviously. We will see what happens over the next few hours.

“Anyone who is playing football and has been a meaningful contributor won’t be leaving in this window.

“Potentially, the ones who leave are ones who haven’t had a lot of regular game time. There are four or five in the squad, I am not going to talk about individuals.”

Away from sales talk, Postecoglou is preparing his players for tomorrow night’s Premiership match against Livingston at Parkhead.

The Hoops do not appear to have any major injury worries after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice.
