    Another near one from Brown. Story of the half.

     

    I expect DU to take heart and be much more adventurous in the second half.

     

    Brown tripped just ouside the 18 yd. box by Ryan…..guess what? No yellow card.

    This is DU’s plan : pray we don’t score, get us a couple of yellows, then steam in 2nd. half, with Wee Wullie as their twelfth man.

     

    Rubbish football. Cynical and boring. Rarely have they ventured out of their own half in the first 45 mins.

    Typical Dundee Utd couldn’t beat Casey’s Drum until Celtic come to town, and then it’s all hands on deck and everyman behind the ball.

     

     

    Shockingly poor finishing from Celtic keeps the score sheet blank, with misses from Brown Rogne and Watt.

     

     

    It was always going to be tight but watch for Utd in the second half loosening out and having a spell, this is where Celtic need to be careful, and the longer it goes the more space we’ll get and but will need to finish whatever chances we get.

    Yep. Stolid, workmanlike, lacking in inspiration, although Celtic have missed two gilt-edged chances.

     

     

    Not sure what the changes will be, now that we’ve only two left to make. Brown will surely not last the 90, so I suspect Lustig may be necessary. McCourt would be an improvement down the left, but we might see Miku come on, if only to shift to a 4-4-2 – Utd more or less nullifying the 4-4-1-1.

    Persistent fouling does not have to be by the same player just on the same player in case a team targets a certain individual.

     

    You can be booked for your first foul as it might be the 5th or 6th on that same player.

     

    A rule you never see enforced.

    HT Dundee Utd 0-0 Celtic

     

     

    The Bhoys started very well, dropped off and then finished better. DU are really poor, especially up front where they have created nothing. They will come out with a different attitude second half having made it to half time at 0-0 so we need to be up for it.

     

     

    Broonie was outstanding for the first 20 mins. When he dropped out of the game it cooincided with a drop in tempo all round. Rogne going off didn’t help either. We are struggling in the centre forward position. Watt does his best work out wide, but when he drifts out there, we have nothing through the middle. We need better from Commons and Ledley going forward in second half. Charlie also looks out of sorts playing in the midfield left position. Defensively we have been solid but not really tested. Both full backs getting forward well – just need a better ball into the box at times.

     

     

    We had two great headed chances with Rogne and Broonie, both coming from crosses, so that is the area we need to exploit.

     

     

    Going to be a tight second half. Hopefully an early goal will settle us down

    So bent and corrupted by the rank rotten mob for decades that this is what we are left with. Now they will do the same as they progress like a disease through the lower leagues casting a dark pall wherever they are.

     

    I wish that we had somehow managed to get out or formed a breakaway league years ago.

     

    I truly dread to think of what will come if they are allowed to return, as bent and corrupt as ever and we have to endure it.

     

    We should have had this game wrapped up by now. I am not complaining,or criticising, just observing : so often this is our tale, chances not converted, so superior to the opposition, but not four or five ahead. Not entitlement, just the gulf in class we present to the rest. The second half should bring us what we deserve. Of course, Gollum will be bringing his bag of spanners….

    Pretty stolid stuff from the Hoops today, with only Brown showing up from the midfield 5.

    With so many safe passers in te middle of the park, we lack imagination and creativity.
