HT Elfsborg 0-0 Celtic
Not a vintage performance but good enough to keep Elfsborg away from our goal. The two best chances fell to Celtic, with Sammi and Ledley both missing from close range. Ledley chance was a bit of a sitter to be fair but the keeper made a great save.
Our formation seems to be off. Brown, Commons, Sammi and Forrest have struggled to get into the game. We have failed to string more than a few passes together but I think we can make huge improvement in the second half. I don’t see them having anything else to offer.
We need to stay strong defensively. Both Effe and Wilson have done well in the centre. Bangura started well but drifted out of the game. Not sure if Commons and Sammi are both playing up front. They seem to be taking turns to lead the line but this leaves us short in the middle when Sammi has to defend. I’m sure Lenny will sort things out for the second half

That was a desperate performance against a very poor team and we are in danger, through our own awful defending, of messing this up.
Team selection is baffling. Where is Charlie Mulgrew meant to be playing? He’s contributed nothing but I don’t particularly blame him as he’s our best centre back being played out of position.
Why not GS out left and get Anto on?!
Ledley has been looking decidedly short of match fitness. KC and GS getting no service. Brown has done very little bar a nice ball to Lustig.
The biggest problem is our central defence. Hesitant and bullied by smaller players. Is there still a bidder for Efe??!
I hope they get a rollicking at HT. they should be reminded that Elfsborg are a mid table poor team. C’MON!!!!!

This is very poor,we offer no threat up front,Commons out of position,Forrest very average not strong onthe ball,Sammi loks lost or injured.
Lack of forwards retaining ball putting pressure on an already shakey defence.
Ridiculous decision playing Wilson who is off tomorrow.
Poor Poor team selection.
We need Watt on to do what Bangoura is doing to us.
Don’t seem to be getting to grips with this surface, mid field woeful continually putting unnecessary pressure on the defence who in turn are struggling to cope,
I will settle for that at full time.
Really need to get Kris C into the game ,If we stay calm in the second half we’re through,thats all that counts but we will get and take a chance.
If we get 2.5million for Wilson, – PL is wearing a Dick Turpin mask.

The centre backs have been poor ..Bangura is rag dolling them
Getting to half time without losing a goal was crucial for both teams.
Now we will see who has the bollocks to go and win it. We need one or two players to grow some and drive us forward
Start using the midfield ffs, what is the point of playing high balls up to Sammi when there’s nobody to pick the ball up from his headers? Play it out from the back and pass the ball. Defence is a bombscare Ambrose and Wilson not working, again, poor defence making Bangura look like a world beater. Elfsborg are poor but could win this if we don’t start passing the ball.
You run at their back four theyare all over the place.
Neil has achieved what he set out to do 1st half-good man!

PFayr – They have not had a chance all game. Bangura o’head kick was speculative at best. Given that, you cannot say the central defenders have not done their job. This is a tough side on an awkward pitch and we are doing ok.

If we’re so bad, how poor are they? An overhead kick and a header from Bangura. Compared to a Sammy header and ledley close range shot well saved.
Don’t fret too much about things that nearly happen.
We will calm down and sure to score. They can’t score 3.
I’m as nervous as a kitten, our play is really frustrating. These lads are really poor we should be dominating them but we are not. If we score its game over but if they score we could be in big trouble. Our lads look really nervy if we go one down I’d hate to see what ‘twould do to our nerves.
