CELTIC are on the trail of a second West Brom player after being linked with midfielder Rakeem Harper, as CQN reported earlier this week.
This time the Hoops are eyeing the Hawthorn side’s 20-year-old Irish defender Dara O’Shea who has been on loan at Exeter City.
Former boss Brendan Rodgers targeted the youngster earlier in the season and the champions have continued to chart his progress.
The Midlands outfit hold a 12-month option on O’Shea’s contract which expires next week. However, the Championship club and the player have yet to agree a deal.
That has alerted the Parkhead men who could be ready to make their move.
And they could get the Irish Under-19 centre-half on a cut-price development fee due to his age in a deal similar to the one that brought Moussa Dembele to the club from Fulham in the summer of 2016.
The French striker signed for a bargain £300,000 before being sold to Lyon for £19.8million in August last year.
The Hoops are searching for new central defenders with Dedryck Boyata quitting the club for Bundesliga mid-table outfit Hertha Berlin in the summer.
