The Scottish Premier League title was secured in emphatic fashion at Kilmarnock this afternoon as The Champions recorded the highest winning margin by any team in the league this season before celebrating an unforgettable league title.
There were sterling performances all over the field for Celtic but it was Charlie Mulgrew who made it his business that there would be no mistakes today. He scored two and created another two of Celtic’s opening four goals before a late flurry finished the scoring.
The opening goal was a bullet header from Charlie from a Kris Commons corner with less than 7 minutes on the clock. Mulgrew could have added a second three minutes later when he combined with Commons on the edge of the area before trying to clip the ball past Cammy Bell in the Kilmarnock goal but on this occasion his attempt went wide.
Glenn Loovens made it 0-2 after 15 minutes when a short corner was played across the field to Mulgrew on the right. Charlier swung in a deep cross to the back of the six yard box for Loovens to of back across goal and into the net.
On 35 minutes Mulgrew cut inside from the left wing and opened space for a delicious right foot shot inside the far post to put Celtic 0-3 ahead and in dreamland.
Moments later Adam Matthews crossed to the dangerous Commons who could have turned and shot but played the ball into the past of Georgios Samaras who drew a magnificent save from Bell.
Seconds before half time Mulgrew sent in a mirror copy of his earlier cross for Loovens but this time Gary Hooper raced onto the ball at the back post to fire into the net and give Celtic a four goal lead at half time.
Commons, who played as a false centre forward for most of the game to great effect, should have earned a penalty on the hour mark when he was barged off the ball when clean thought inside the box but his distinct hooped shirt counted against him.
Kris then played a magnificent pass onto the rampaging Loovens who injured himself in a challenge with Cammy Bell as his shot went narrowly wide.
The second half looked set to end without a goal before a couple of late contributions, the first from Ledley who combined with Stokes before clipping the ball over the goalkeeper. Gary Hooper then fired an unstoppable shot into the postage stamp corner from 19 yards to complete the rout.
Have a Champion Easter and enjoy your well earned celebrations.

Wow, well done to Neil Lennon and the bhoys.
Tired after replying to anyone who suggested this title is tainted, kills supporters of other teams stone dead when you popijnt out to them that they have been cheated as much as Celtic in the past 20 years, any buns just can’t take it when you ask them how many schools, hospitals, police, etc they have cost the country, love it when they resort to the tried and trusted watp retort.
My sign off line on all text messages yesterday was, ‘They are the people right enough, just not the people you want living next door to you”

I apologise in delay m8.
Yeah, fair is fair when, your talking about….the situation surrounding, Neil Francis Lennon, whom, I have never doubted.
But, fairness where PL is concerned…..yesterday, PL alluded to more stuff that – has not been released yet re:Neil ?
I couldn’t begin to imagine what, the Celtic hierarchy have gone through to, protect our manager. It really is scary.
May God Bless Every Facet Of Celtic Football Club
Hail Hail
Happy Easter to all celebrating Tims from the tropical, far north of Australia.
Last night’s game was a joy to behold – a celebration of all things Celtic: great play, great goals, magnificent supporters and the man who made it all happen, Neil Lennon. Truly, he is one of us.
When I came to Australia 25 years ago initially, it was shortwave radio and the BBC World Service. These days I have the joy of watching the team I love in the comfort of my own home, with my Aussie Celt sons.
This is our 23rd title in my lifetime. We had 9 by the time I was 12. All the titles I’ve seen live have been special, from my 1st, the 4-2 game in ’79, through to the ’86 triumph at Love St and stopping the sectarian tax cheats in’98. Nothing beats being there, but even watching last night from 10,000 miles away was very special.
Happy Easter again to all of you – and special Easter blessings to Paul67 for this wonderful log.
Back to lurking!
Hail! Hail! to the Champions
Morning All – what a fantastic day that was I may be physic but I see many more just like them in the days/weeks/years ahead!

RANGERS U19s…0
CELTIC U19s…3
(Herron 30, Alabi 83, 88)
CELTIC Under-19s celebrated their first game as League Champions with a convincing 3-0 over Rangers at Murray Park.
John Herron gave the young Hoops the lead on the half-hour mark, fastening onto a ricochet and rolling the ball into the net after Paul George had been crudely fouled in the box.
The Irish youngster had to be stretched off in agony following the incident, with play being stopped for several minutes, and his injury put a dampener on the day.
Despite understandable concern for their team-mate, the young Celts swiftly refocused on the task in hand, though, and continued to dictate proceedings after the interval.
And it was George´s replacement, James Alabi, who sealed the win with a second-half brace – converting Liam Gormley´s cutback and then firing into the corner from 16 yards in the closing minutes.
After an early scare when Leonardo Fasan had to make a reaction stop to prevent Marcus Fraser´s sliding clearance heading into his own net, the youths gradually gained control of proceedings.
Herron was inches away from connecting with Joe Chalmers´ cross from the left and Callum McGregor had the ball in the net but was ruled offside as the visitors began to threaten the Rangers goal.
And on the half hour mark, they made the breakthrough. George cut inside from the left and skipped past several challenges. As he released the ball just inside the box, he was caught late by a Rangers player and crumpled to the ground in evident pain. The ball ricocheted through to Herron, however, and he calmly rolled the ball past the home shot-stopper.
Because of the apparent seriousness of the Irish winger´s injury, though, it was a bittersweet moment. It took a few minutes for George to receive treatment on the pitch and be stretched off. When play resumed, Alabi had entered the fray in his place.
However, despite this setback, the young Celts, to their credit, remained resolute in their quest for three points. McGregor tried his luck from distance and Alabi showed good strength and pace to burst through on goal but saw his attempt saved.
It remained a precarious scoreline, however, and Marcus Fraser had to make a terrific sliding challenge to deny the forward a goalscoring opportunity.
Frustration was growing among the home side´s ranks and the Rangers left-back received his marching orders for a second booking, following a late tackle on Dylan McGeouch.
And in the final 10 minutes, the young Hoops sealed a deserved win thanks to a brace from Alabi.
After Liam Gormley had delivered a low cross from the byline, the striker was in the right place to stab the ball over the line.
His second arrived as the clock ticked down. Collecting a loose ball in the ball, he took a touch before drilling the ball into the corner to cap off an excellent display from the Champions.
