New CQN Magazine out now, get it while it’s hot!

1492

Issue 11 of CQN Magazine is our biggest and best yet; 100 pages of smooth as silk, green as grass, content for the Celtic community.  This month we mark the club’s 125th anniversary with a look back at one of our founding fathers.  We have a look at ex-Celts playing in North America, with some spectacular photos, and we have one article from a former club insider on how the media exploited his casual comment.

There’s also a look ahead at our Champions League chances………

It’s here, it’s FREE to read online, it’s stuffed full of what your community have to say.  Get it while it’s hot!

As well as reading for FREE here (don’t try to read through the graphic below), you can subscribe for £10 or £20, and our sponsor, Executive Shaving, who offer an enormous range of grooming products, are offering readers a £20 voucher for all £30 CQN Magazine subscribers

I think some of these barca players are holding back and saving themselves for Wednesday :-)

  2. Banks of my own lovely Lee.

What a joy of a song.

I have a big brother-in-law from Castletownbear, resident in Rathmullan for 40 odd years, who owns the rights to that lovely song.

The very thought of his rendition of it makes me happy.

    God Bless you, James.

  3. ………Saw a chap sportin’ the controversial flooooooooer in the Mahon shoppin’ centre, as he passed me I acknowledged his obvious statement hoping he might be of the hiberno persuasion………..alas no…………he was very much……. “Cor Blimey Guv’nor”

    Haven’t seen one since……

Oh yes….the near forgotten ‘fighting fund’…..robbed again, as they will be in this share issue (Green’s pot o’ gold at the end of the red, white and blue rainbow). Will they never learn?

    Let’s hope not.

The fighting fund will have a big tax liability, what is the tax on gifts, 50, 60 or 70% ?

Jeez, are you Mickeybhoy, and trying to give all of us old boring middleagers a heart attack, so he can have the blog all to him and his exciting 16 yr old friends?

Think with skygo you are limited to 2 devices per month. The mobile you got shot of will count as one (assuming you were accessing from it). So if you have been using another device recently, like a laptop, that may be your problem.

  8. My granny’s full cousin was Jimmy McGrory, In 1967 I went with the Boys Guild one Sunday for a tour of Celtic Park and to see the trophy. Jimmy was a kind of tour guide, PR man at the tine. My granny said to say to him do you remember Annie ,,,,? He said no!

What a disapointment in front of all my pals. But he was a gentleman and let me walk on the turf.

  9. Bankiebhoy,

I have never been in Castletownbere ( Thanks for the spelling correction.)

My connection is a man who has long since realised that Donegal is the most desirable place in Erin’s Isle.

He was is also the best pub singer that I have ever heard.

Hope you & your family are all well.

  10. Spare a thought for mikibhoy, the smell of urine from the site must be unbearable for him.

Anyway, anyone know where I can buy a cheap commode?

  13. Watched United Arsenal earlier and watching West Ham City now.

2 games which give further evidence of just how over-rated the EPL is…

  14. I’m with Roberto ‘Rab’ Mancini on the poppy thing!

Red poppies over here in Italy at this time of the year are unheard of.

I know he works in Engerland now – but the wearing of said poppy is a personal choice.

I was not aware that it was compulsary to wear one!

No harm to the guy, but I’m hoping Messi’ knee keeps him out midweek

  16. Nice end to BBC phone in as Cosgrove and Traynor have a wee ding dong on

    Charles Green.

Licked the Cosgrove “in you paper today questions about one of the investors involved in tax issue”

Traynor retort ” all clubs have investors with issues”

The bold Cosgrove is a Lawwell fenian hand papist plant

  17. Sparkleghirl,

    ———-

:) Agree, but have a bit of understanding – imagine you were witnessing all that chaos and devastation – wouldn’t you be just dying to get it on Facebook or twitter???

Alas, I don’t Twit or Tweet, but being a bit old fashioned I think my priorities would be a little bit different, but each to their own and far be it from me to tell anyone what their concerns should be. Just for the record I have been through a lot of hurricanes both in New York and Florida and the devastation can sometimes take your breath away, the pictures don’t do it justice. I wouldn’t even wish it on thems.

As someone who witnessed Sandy first hand i welcome the distraction of random posts.

3 days without power and some property damage it was great to get back to CQN for a little relief

Re poppies, I’m all for personal choice, but isn’t there a bit in one of the gospels that says when you’re doing penance you should forget the sackcloth and ashes and just do it privately without making a show? I’m sure the same would hold true for alms-giving.

  23. Barcelona 3-1 Celta.

Barcelona have had their best start ever to a season. Ten games played, nine wins, one draw (against Real Madrid) in the league. Three wins out of three in the Champions League.

    All things must pass.
