Let’s be honest with each other, there’s a bit of a leap between our European performances in recent seasons and the standards of Champions League football. My expectations for this season’s tournament hasn’t seen me check out accommodation options in Cardiff in May.
With that in mind, if we’re going to fall short, let’s do it against genuine quality opposition, some of the best players and tactically organised teams in the business. Barcelona, Manchester City (think Pep, but with more money) and Borussia Monchengladbach will bring this to Glasgow over the next few months.
Over our 15 year Champions League lifespan, Celtic surprise on the upside more often against better teams than against relative minnows. The biggest disappointments came in Scandinavia, not Iberia.
When the group stage finishes in December, we will faced enormous challenges. Players will have stretched themselves to lengths they didn’t know existed. What we know for sure, is that none of the other three teams in our group will have wanted Celtic from Pot 4. This is a hard draw for everyone.
Huge game tomorrow. Anything less than 100% and we’ll drop points. Enjoy it.

Don’t believe the hype.

Any news on further recruitments for the hoops?
Corkcelt
He’s Celtic daft mate.
‘Scotlands game’ on bbc last night lost any credibility when it described JT as a journalist.
Hello again all you young rebels.
Big weekend for our young hoops here in Oz, a win in their
last game on Sun. takes them into a top four team play off
for the title, when the wee mhan came back from Scotland
his game was awful and his team had slipped to sixth place
from being joint second at one stage, i said to him
” I thought you were practising over there it must have been
with huns the way your shots are going”
He couldn’t hit an elephant on the erse with a frying pan.
So extra training sessions called for and now he’s got his mojo
back and 4 goals in his last two games gives us a chance.
Told his teammates all to wear their Celtic tops under their
strip on Sun. for inspiration and more importantly to protect
them from evil, i think they know what i mean.

Queensland dry yet? get back soon remember our halfway to
Paddys day coming up shortly and what a day that will be
so any you bhoys or ghirls giving us a visit to the rebel town

Both are good.
If you are in mid town JD’s and if you are somewhere uptown the Parlour.
JD’s would be the equivalent of the standing area and the Parlour the main stand.
Wee bit of an exaggeration maybe.
I’m still laughing at Boyd outpacing the whole Sevco defence.
Wait until they play us, hearts, Aberdeen, Ross county, st j even……
Many laughs ahead when there’s no real football on.
Gftb Ronny was a poor manager. The players that are still there are still showing their weaknesses (the hapoel game showed that). We are just kidding ourselves on if we ignore that.
Corkcelt. I just can’t ignore everything that has gone before, unlike many of you.
I saw Molly on the phone at full time was he (a) phoning Regan to complain about referees (b) calling Goughie asking if he’d make a come back or (c). Phoning Thomsons to book a holiday in September?
Some holiday my sister’s pal is on-Miami last week, now Boston.
So any advice on where she can watch the match tomorrow in Boston will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
HH.

Mailed BT again, I do every time after Sutty is commentating, congrating them on having an honest straight up co commentator and not someone who is there to appease a section of the paying customers.
Maybes if others did the same we can keep enjoying Sutty for a while, I would imagine the hun are bombarding them trying to get rid.

After our game the morra v the Dons the wee mhans game is the next result I will be looking for, hope he shoots his team into the play-off, only caught one or two of your posts when he was over here but delighted he loved his visit to Celtic park……all the best to the wee mhans team on Sunday

Totally agree m8.
I absolutely cannot believe in the current climate they looked to him for objectivity.
A propagandist of the highest order.
It does worry me that he clearly though still is “well connected” at BBC in Glasgow.
Their ability on the radio now to dig up more and more bluenose pundits to continue to spin their agenda.
Anyway I nearly kicked the telly when Traynor came on……!
Ps programme was actually ok. Interesting footage from the dressing room. Up to a lot of knees in Fenian blood eh?
They still can’t come out tho’ and really REALLY question David Murray……they just can’t.

Sutton marked Garner’s card.
He said he had a reputation in England for throwing himself around, trying to con refs, but they cottoned on to him at the end.
Told him ti ditch the nonsense in Scotland.
Fleming’s Flunkeys take note.

I’ve seen your constant underhand comments about the Celtic Trust over the past few months. The fact is that you’re ‘facts’ are actually lies and your intention is to sow discord on the blog.
One thing.
We meet regularly with Celtic and we’re frequently in touch with them. There are many issues which are resolved amicably, it’s only the outstanding points that are often highlighted.
Celtic are happy to meet with us, that’s worth remembering. We’ll continue to hold the Plc board to account but only because we want the best for Celtic and the supporters.
That, my friend, is the most obvious difference between us.
I won’t respond further to your posts as I believe most who post and lurk can see this for what it is.
Hail Hail UTLR
I agree Neg. Not asking you to ignore it but just compartmentalise your issues.
Enjoy the good things and by all means give it two barrels when the shite issues are up for discussion. Join the fun here when the place is fun,
The Huns’ vile racist hymnsheet got a fair old rehearsal tonight. Its back with a vengeance and will be worse than ever before, in two weeks, if that’s possible.

Cheers ‘GG.
Veering towards JD’s now.
You in NYC? Always figured you as more local!
TGSC,
Sailing On….
The penny is finally dropping with the hun support that they,re shite. If you can stomach it, have a look at the last eight pages of the match thread on hun media. Its bloody marvellous.
The breedheid is getting it, their players are gertting it, there,s lots of hun on hun action and they are shitting themselves.
If you love their pain and despise them the I recommend having a look.
They are coming to terms with having no chance of winning anything.

I canny really argue with that, some times the players played for Ronny a lot of the times they didn’t, poor manager ? I think you saying the players were always there is a bit of a cop out, my response (jokingly) was the fact you mentioned guys like me thinking these players could make the group stages, BR has added a 20yr old from Fulham, a 35yrd old centre half and Scotty Bhoy Sinclair, not much of an outlay which was my point…….in 6wks BR has made more managerial changes on the park that Ronny in 2years, I prefer to concentrate on where we are going than where we were :-)
St Stivs, can you ping me an e-mail about tomorrow: vfr800a8@me.com
KTF
Tomorrow’s first home league game of the season could be our biggest league attendance for a few years. Fly the flag.
I can see another Bobby Petta/ Fernando Riksen fishing rod situation,
whemn their full backs come up against Roberts and Sinclair
I’ll give the smsm a backhanded compliment here – they always amaze me with how they spin the sh1t that is Sevco. The daily ranger headline
‘Kris Boyd hits 250th goal as 10 man killie hold league leaders’
League leaders! Well I suppose it’s a fact.
Funny thing is, the deady Bears are ripping their team and manager to shreds on line but the smsm are still to scared to call it as it is.
Just keep laughing at the delusion.

As Joseph Anthony was checking to see whether his leg was still attached to his body they were serenading him with a wee ditty about being up to their knees in Fenian blood.
Which, in the circumstances, I thought was both thoughtful and appropriate.
NEGANON2 @ 10:29 PM,
Glad to see you’re in high(ish) spirits…
Is it because we got in an established Manager and got in some quality footballers?
Spending money seems to have generated a lot of interest and of course…
Money…
High ST sales and now UCL cash, add to that the Clubs we’ve drawn will lead to an even higher profile and higher revenue yet.
This is exactly where we need to be. Don’t you think it’s good the Coffee has been schmelt…;)
Hail Hail to the Killie Joys!!

Yer a star!
TYVM.
Warburton’s Sevco are similar to Ronny’s Celtic but with poorer players.
If a team sit deep and play them on the break they struggle. If they play a team up a level who have a bit of pace and invention they’ll get found out.
Play the same way, slowly, no Plan B.

Any chance someone could post a selection of the best bits of tonights Sevco simians messageboards, please?
For a laugh.
Gordon64, is tomorrow a full house at paradise?
Jailbird Joey also getting battered by the hun rabble on hunmedia. He,s being called an imposter. I,m pretty sure we told the braindead fackwits that jailor Joe was a tim.
Yup, he is a total imposter.
Babisconi, get over to the match thread on rm and see for yourself.
I,d be rid carded again if I posted their stuff on here. It really is worth it, believe me it is.
