Let’s be honest with each other, there’s a bit of a leap between our European performances in recent seasons and the standards of Champions League football. My expectations for this season’s tournament hasn’t seen me check out accommodation options in Cardiff in May.
With that in mind, if we’re going to fall short, let’s do it against genuine quality opposition, some of the best players and tactically organised teams in the business. Barcelona, Manchester City (think Pep, but with more money) and Borussia Monchengladbach will bring this to Glasgow over the next few months.
Over our 15 year Champions League lifespan, Celtic surprise on the upside more often against better teams than against relative minnows. The biggest disappointments came in Scandinavia, not Iberia.
When the group stage finishes in December, we will faced enormous challenges. Players will have stretched themselves to lengths they didn’t know existed. What we know for sure, is that none of the other three teams in our group will have wanted Celtic from Pot 4. This is a hard draw for everyone.
Huge game tomorrow. Anything less than 100% and we’ll drop points. Enjoy it.

Gerry, Vidar Riseth kicked Rod Wallace and was sent off , we were 3 nil down, at the game where Dallas made sure he was the star of the show after the coin incident.
Vidar is also a big Celtic man.
Scotland played Norway in Oslo years ago. Vidar was in the Norway squad. The BBC interviewed him after the Norwegians trained. He was asked the usual questions by the BBC guy and the last question was which Norwegian player was the one to look out for. He pointed at one of his team mates and said him and he hoped Celtic would sign him.

I think making the CL will give every single player a lift, I watched the (on the telly) the St Jo players last week trying to wind up Broony, he was about to react when big Kolo came over and put his arm around him, an old head helping out, Scott can concentrate on his own game and just give the ball to Scotty Bhoy Sinclair, Jamesy F and when Paddy R is back…….options, options options
Don’t give your Bhoy a hard time, my young nephews are itching to hump the cheats, like many on here I wipouls glad never to cross paths with them again, but it’s like Medussa, every time you cut off one head the Sfa will make sure there is another :-)

Jackson had more impact at County than he did with us.

I agree with most of that.
In view of the copycat flag wavers , the flag waving charge could easily morph into ” Bringing the game into disrepute ” with a consequent upping of the sanction.

Very rarely you will hear me criticise any Celtic player but Vidar Riseth looked like the proverbial rabbit in the headlights, there was probably worse than Vidar but he is one that should never have graced the hoops…..we all have our own memories but you touched a nerve there :-)

Big Chris Sutton gave us the lowdown on Garner before he came on.
Gave away most fouls in all the English leagues and had a reputation for diving.
Did both in this game. Took out the Killie defender Byrne with a cynical body check.
BIg Chris , hunskelper on and off the field.
Finally , a commentator who isn`t afraid to stick it to referees.

Was there last year for Barca v Valencia, bought tickets online and printed at home. Possibly not an option for CL fixture?
Was at The 1-1 game when Hartson scored, got tickets day before at their ticket office for the Barcelona section.
Other times I got tickets from Celtic.
I suspect Celtic will have some tickets going this time. Most have been to the Camp nou and perhaps less will go this time.

Never a problem getting tickets for the group stages at the Camp Nou. Celtic travel already have 1 day packages available at £389 a pop not including the price of a ticket leaving fromGlasgow I don’t suspect that there will be a strong uptake of tickets for this match

Chris Sutton is out for Chris Sutton…..when wgs appeared he wasn’t even interested, he does call it as he sees it and I think he is a great pundit, but Chris would fling Celtic under a bus to get his gig, his treatment of Ronny was shocking and he even mentioned it at the weekend “we ? Need tomstopmtalking about Delia” by the way BT love him so more power to his frankness but for me, great player for us and when the going is good he is all Celtic when the going is not so good he will be more Norwich or Chelsea or Lincoln, in fact maybe just more Norwich as he failed big time at the other two :-)

You know Chris better than me , so I`m happy to accept your assessment.
His criticism of Ronny mirrors mine , except that I started in August / Sept 2014 .
Nothing that has happened since then has changed my view , merely reinforced it.
When Kris Commons , a marvellous servant of the Club from long before the arrival of Ronny , stomped off the field in Sweden ( ? ) , that was the final straw.
His frustrated reaction mirrored mine.
Action by the Board should have taken place then.
It would have been a kindness to Ronny and to us.

Sutton kept Lincoln up and they got to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup for the first time in 10 years.
Having said that I think he is too abrupt for coaching. He just calls it as he sees it. No grey areas. He’ll be some laugh when we play Sevco at Celtic Park.
I’d love to see him interview the King Criminal, that would save many Sevconians a lot of money in their Bernie Madoff inspired pyramid scheme, Club 1872:)
