Haha, liked your Danish tale.If you managed to upset the monarchy AND the HoP you must have done something right.

The Queen:descendant of teutonic master thieves and murderers who lives an incredibly privileged and avaricious life off the back of ordinary people’s money whilst remaining detached from the reality of those same folk. And demanding servility from them at the same time.Aye,eff her.I’m offended at those offended at her being offended.

Ive just dug up something ive been looking for.

A first hand account of Maryhill in the 19th century, written by a most respected mason and factory manager.

    Astounding.

He doesnt seem too fond of the ‘temporary migrants’ who move into ‘The Botany’ in the 1830’s and 1840’s:)

    What a find.

    We will discuss it soon:)

“They took hefty pay cuts during  Rangers’ financial meltdown but their refusal to transfer their registrations to the new company following liquidation and instead become free agents left many angry.” (Scottish Sun)

Rangers had a ‘financial meltdown’ while the company was ‘liquidated’.

Well, I suppose so, if it weren’t for that pesky 1899 incorporation.

Thanks to which, of course, when you say the company was liquidated, you’re admitting the same about the club.

posted on CQN a couple of weeks ago regarding the singing of ‘Rebs’ at Celtic park and why, imo, it continues albeit I am somewhat ambivalent where the singing of the Rebs is concerned.

The Irish diaspora in Scotland has always had a large percentage of those who support militant Irish republicanism / Nationalism. Éamon de Valera acknowledged the solidarity shown by the Irish in Scotland when he stated: “Of all the children of Irish race in foreign lands, none have been more faithful than you in Scotland.” Indeed that militancy has manifested itself in song at Celtic park since the very inception of Celtic FC, our great grand fathers sang Irish songs of Rebellion at Celtic park as have our grand fathers and fathers before us.

As I have previously pointed out the ‘armed struggle’ in Ireland is thankfully at an end however the struggle for Irish freedom continues albeit by the ballot box rather than the Armalite now. I am of the opinion that as long as Celtic FC continues to draw a large section of its support base from the Irish diaspora in Scotland and as long as Britain continues to occupy the northern 6 counties Ireland there will be number of Celtic supporters who will chose to continue to sing ‘the rebs’. —— Why it could be even considered as our ‘cultural heritage’ and right – a bit like participating in overtly sectarian parades in 21st cent Scotland :-) JOKE….

As mentioned I am somewhat ambivalent in regards to the whole song debate but one thing I am sure of I am not prepared to be a hypocrite and condemn youngsters for doing the very same thing I have done in the past.

Really like Stuart Armstrong. He’s a great player – great in the tackle, can score from distance with both feet, dynamic in possession, can tackle, play a penetrating pass and get up and down the park. He’s certainly worth more than he currently gets, by some distance. But here’s the thing, he’s now pissing us about. I don’t resent a guy looking after himself, but when that gets out of balance and he starts stringing us along, that’s a different story. Brendan’s patience is wearing thin and so is the support’s. Time to make up your mind son, so even if you do leave it’s with our goodwill.

  13. PeterLatchfordsBelly on 12th August 2017 3:11 pm

    —————

I don’t think Armstrong is stringing us along, the club will have known for a while now that he’s for the off, we’re probably just waiting for an acceptable bid to be submitted. We’ve already replaced him.

You rate him a tad higher than I do, so won’t be that bothered if/when he goes.

“Ciftci should be loaned out or sold he’s no chance of getting in the present team, never did fancy him either, to me he’s the kind of player I wouldent want around my squad, get shot of him sonnet rather than later. ”

Ciftci, I compare thee to a summer’s day?

    Thou art like Fair Friday

    Dreich, wet, slow and grey

You’ld drive men to the pub with the way you play

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.

To waste on watching your mistakes,

    And often is mycomplexion reddened;

As every skill from fair declines,

    By loans, or cheap shop window deals, unsigned;

From Celt’s possession you shall not fade,

Nor lose possession of that fee thou ow’st,

Nor shall death drag though thou wand’rest in his shade,

When in eternity’s time thou goest.

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

So fans will compare that shyster Sebo with thee.

  15. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY

I agree that Armstrong is an excellent player.

However his situation is causing the team problems.

He has had an indifferent start and the coach seems unsure about playing him.

Understandable that he wants to make as much money as he can in what is a short career.

We should sell him if he does not sign by midweek and reinvest in the squad.

Last night it was noticeable that we missed his running into good positions in the last third but when he came on he was unfocused and poor.

The fact that we have an abundance of midfielders makes the idea of losing him palateable.

I’m not in favour of the monarchy, nor of the House of Lords.

But I will defend The Queen.

Yes,she has had a privileged life,no denying that.

But a 90yo woman has never been allowed to do what she wants. Were it me,I’d be stir crazy.

Leave The Queen alone, she didn’t choose her role. Fire into the establishment which supports the monarchy.
