POSTECOGLOU PROBLEM PILE-UP

AARON MOOY has added to Ange Postecoglou’s problem pile-up ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League Group F encounter with RB Leipzig in the Red Bull Arena.

The Australian World Cup midfielder didn’t travel with the squad to Germany and will join crocks Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt and the unavailable Liel Abada on the sidelines.

The defensive double-act have injury worries while the Israel international winger has pulled out because of religious reasons with the fixture coinciding with Yom Kipper which includes a 25-hour fast, as CQN reported earlier today.

Postecoglou revealed: “In terms of outs, Cameron wasn’t 100 per cent, so he’s not with the team and Liel Abada didn’t travel and obviously Carl Starfelt and Aaron Mooy had a bit of a niggle in training, so we left him behind.

OUT…midfielder Aaron Mooy was left at home after sustaining a niggle in training.

“Cameron has been out for a few games now. When he’s fit he’ll be available again, but our concentration has been on the guys who are ready and fit to go and looking forward to the game.”

The Hoops gaffer, speaking to the Daily Record, added: “Every game’s a challenge. That’s the nature of the competition.

“Every team you play is a top quality side, so you know irrespective of what’s happened before and what games you’ve got ahead, the next task is to take on the challenge that is before you.

“Leipzig are a top quality team and it will be a fantastic challenge for us as a football club and we have to keep performing at the levels we know we can.”

Celtic go into the match looking for their first win in the group after losing 3-0 at home to Real Madrid and drawing 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk in Warsaw.

The Germans have yet to claim a point after successive losses to the Ukrainians, 4-1 in Leipzig, and 2-0 to the European champions in the Bernabeu.
