BRENDAN RODGERS has likened Tom Rogic to his former Liverpool player Adam Lallana.
The Wizard of Oz has been in spectacular form this season since the Irishman took over from Ronny Deila in the Celtic hot-seat.
Rogic has claimed 10 goals in 25 appearances – the same total he reached in 40 outings last term.
The form of the 23-year-old midfielder has drawn comparisons with England international Lallana who cost Rodgers £25million when he took him to Anfield from Southampton in the summer of 2014.
The Hoops gaffer said: “Tom’s got huge potential. His bodywork is as good as you’ll get.
“He and Lallana are of that same mould where they just roll out of trouble.
“Technically, he’s so gifted and physically he’s better now.”
Backing up his manager’s words, the Aussie international scored the last-minute winner at Fir Park 10 days ago and lasted the full 90 minutes of the Champions League encounter against Manchester City on Tuesday.
Rodgers added: “Last Saturday against Motherwell, he played right the way through and was a big player at the end.
“Sometimes when I sub Tom it’s not necessarily how he’s playing or he can’t last.
“Sometimes I just need to shore up the game with a more defensive-type player.
“His contribution against Manchester City was top class, and the beauty is he’s committed here – he sees this as his place to develop.”
