Sensational Celtic remains sound business plan

964

You know a transfer window approaches when practically every media outlet has a story on Celtic are set to lose an important player.  Transfer stories are one of the most reliable commercial ventures in business.  They require no effort to produce, or recopy, as most outlets appear to, do not need to lead anywhere, but income per word read brings in more advertising revenue than anything else the UK media.

The premise that Sir Alex Ferguson has shared his plans to sell and then buy with an external party is ridiculous.  The distraction this can cause to Celtic players is merely a by product.

Ordered the CQN Annual yet? Get it here in time for Christmas!

Those who comment on our game do manage to contort themselves sometimes.  Sky TV convinced themselves Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin’s demonstrable angst at full time last night was in connection to his side’s disallowed goal.  A less animated Paul then explained his actions were frustration at only having three minutes added time.  If he wants to get more TV time he’d better follow the script – be angry at Celtic!

The moment Neil Lennon’s interview ended Sky cut across him to assure us Lassad’s disallowed goal was offside (which it was).  They acknowledged Keddie’s arm around the neck of Fraser Forster for the Arbroath ‘goal’ but were unable to confirm this was against the rules.

Football rules are very confusing, after all, but the rules on how the media make money out of Celtic remain the same.

We have not discussed Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas for a couple of days.  This single is going to position Celtic Charity and the 125 4 125 campaign in a prime spot across the nation.  You and I need to get involved THIS WEEK to raise the profile as high as possible ahead of the Christmas chart.

This dream thing all came about when Smashy and I were curing the ills of the world over a pint. I happened to tell him that I had a dream were Scott Brown lifted the European Cup on the same day that I had won £100 million on the Euro millions. At that point he told me of his recurring dream about ladyboys. After a very long awkward silence…..whistling wind and tumbleweed included…i informed him that he might have a problem. “Problems shared are problems halved” I said….”Get your dreams out there on CQN….You’ll feel a lot better for it”….I noticed he told everyone about the Aiden dream BUT not the ladyboy one……has he something to hide?

No conspiracy theories, you nauthty boys, don’t you know how much I hate conspiracies; no religion either, but atheism is okay, no slating the board but slating Neil Lennon is okay, lying to the blog is a virtue not to be scorned, picking on the weak is a virtue, having six user names is a must, winding up the blog until you are exposed then havin’ a wee laugh before re-inventing yourself as a cyber wooden spoon is all good fun. No sweat-if it’s Johnstone,I had many a good evening there-mainly in the Silver Tassie,as I had a last train to miss (sorry,Mum)

    —–

Tassie is now a Sevco pub- before that it was a currant shop

There are a few Celts pubs to choose from in the town: the Thorn is close to station ( Tassie is closer tho’…most travellers would choose it on that basis)

Went into Tassie once, in 1981 – one pint and straight back out -full of horribles- my brother discovered the same cr@p 20 years later so not much had changed

Doubt it’s ever been anything other than a Hun pub

However if you grew up in a wee Ayrshire toon – Kilwinning for example :-) you would probably think it was pure Majic :-)

  18. Top of the morning to you all from a milder Fife where the snow is trying to blow.

On reflection I am not too disappointed by the display at Arbroath. The conditions made the players look like a lot of Bambis on ice and the main thing is we won and avoided injuries, which is how Neil Lennon saw it.

No excuses for not having a big win tomorrow though and the fans deserve a big win at Parkhead.

I am puzzled by Challs’s performance the other night on STV. He seems to be protesting too much about how it doesn’t matter if the fan’s share issue is under-subscribed as he would take up the slack.

The last man that took a similar stance (SDM) ended up taking up £49m out of £50m!

The Hun is essentially a beast that expects others to pay and if Challs is saying he will pick up the tab then that is what the Sevco fans will let him do.

I predict £3 million from the fans.

  19. In the light of what happened to Pat Finucane and state supported murders of Catholics in NI via loyalist terrorists do you think its possible people of their viewpoint were behind the death threats and intimidation recently seen in Scotland in relation to the oldco/newco Rangers issues…?

Once the green light is given to the sectarian murder of Catholics by state agencies then its not Timmy paranoia to come to the conclusion that other forms of violence and discrimination against Catholics in Scotland are related to events in NI

Lets face it if the state can give the okay to the murder of Catholics in NI then its perfectly feasible for Catholics here in Scotland of Irish Catholic origin to believe sectarian bigots within the Rangers support and others within Scottish society were bolstered by what was happening to Catholics in NI

I find it almost impossible to come to any other conclusion other than the view the bigots of NI are linked directly to Scotland and have imported their murderous viewpoints into our society albeit to a lesser degree but nevertheless one of intimidating influence.

  21. thinedimebhoy,

That is exactly where it comes from.

Blood of blood, bone of bone, etc.

The original supremacist ethos came from NI,back in the ’20s, and has remained there ever since.

  22. Having been very inconsistent at home this season (beating Barca, drawing with Arbroath), and it being over 2 months since we last too all 3 points from a home game (Hearts 1-0, 7th October), someone is going to be in the end of a thrashing very soon. Tomorrow could be that day. St Mirren try to get the ball on the deck and pass (suits the way we play), they are struggling for fit defenders, and we have a tendancy to give them sound beating more than anyone else. All of this points to a 5 or 6 goal rout tomorrow, looking forward to Celtic finally turning up for a league game at CP.

  23. Struggling with my football bets this year.. Usually do decent. Espcially first half of season.

Any tips for tomorrow ? Any league and any return shall be welcome

Both teams to score bets, concentrating on Championship games, has been kind to me in recent weeks. Very few teams don’t score in that division. Premiership also has very few 0 scores.
