Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

  1. Johansen; McGregor, Rogic, Armstrong;

Wonder which one will play left hand side of midfield as there are 3 naturally left footed players among the 4……I have a feeling none of those 3 will though.

    Rogic double today will do.

PF – yes SS1 – the disappointment of the team blew my Keech Jackson – sorry – cut and paste.

As Han Solo would say ” I have a bad feeling about this …”

  4. We have to play some games during a season, with a team reduced by injury and suspension. Today is one of those days.

We can take heart that the defence is a fairly settled one. The front 4, however would be few people’s first choice. This is a day to win without Brown, Griffiths and Commons, three of our more reliable performers.

    Bring it on!

Live update peeps …thank you in advance

    Smiley thing

  6. Not surprisingly Ronny Deila shows faith others don’t share with Calum McGregor. James Forrest bafflingly starts on the bench (fitness?) and the underperforming Stuart Armstrong gets another chance. Griffiths is the big minus, in what is clearly to most not our best possible starting eleven.

Well it will be a hard old game today not in my opinion our strongest team by any choice. I think it will be very close Cifti needs to show us why we signed him and our defence needs to stand up and be counted. The midfield need to be hard working both going forward and defending and a wee bit of luck wouldnt do us any harm. H.H.

    was just thinking the same

    bring it on,

    jimbo67

you are was of the most specialc CQNrs i have met and i have met many,

may 2016 bring you all your needs

    LOVE & Y.N.W.A

  11. With Leigh still injured I too would have gone with Ciftci up front, partly beacuse I can’t think of anyone else!

Back 5 – happy with that

Bitton and Johansen (or McGregor) sitting – well, with Brown out then again I think this is best.

So that only leaves the 3 behind Ciftci where my only disappointment is that Scott Allen isn’t starting.

Don’t think it will be the hammering that I had forecast back on Page 1 (post #7) so any win at all will be acceptable today.

We’ll then destroy Dundee instead ;-)

  12. TCR,

not heard anything either about The Ranch,

    Dealneys,

are you heading to your usual place for the game today?

Is that team good enough to beat a very confident Hearts? It should be. But I have to be honest, our manager has very little strength in depth in his squad.

Looking at that team,is there one player who jumps out as a first-pick in any of our teams in the last twenty years?

No not one. I’m still confident of victory, but I’m really starting to despair over our lack of quality nowadays.
