Tynecastle perfect venue for stumbling Celtic

396

There can hardly be a better venue for Celtic to visit after a poor result than Tynecastle. The focus, which was so badly missing last weekend, is always evident there. As a consequence, we have a remarkably good record at what, on paper, should be one of the more difficult grounds to visit.

We should also see a tactical tightening. The empty acres behind the Celtic defence which Motherwell were able to exploit will surely be better defended tomorrow.

The postponement of the Hamilton game earlier this month, together with the loss last week, has given the league table a more competitive look. Last season this scenario was too much for Aberdeen, who stumbled at Dundee. It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with the Highlanders this afternoon.

Delighted to read this morning that the Celtic FC Foundation are helping Mary’s Meals in Kenya, as well as War Child, on the back of the stunning success of their Christmas appeal.

What a club!

Spain won the world cup with no forwards

So technically they should not be banned.

  4. As tomorrow will be our last league game of 2015 I decided to have a we check over our league stats for the calendar year.

For the 2nd half of the 2014-15 season we played 20 games, securing 17 wins and 2 draws.

And for the first half of the current season we have played 18, winning 13 and drawing 3.

Not too shabby – just 3 league losses in the calendar year (St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Motherwell)

Win tomorrow and, in 2015, we’ll have picked up 98 points out of a maximum 117.

    Just sayin’ ;-)

Another bugbear of mines is…when we have a throw in players are pulling markers beside them or just turn their back! Which makes me think the confidence or direction is lacking.

One thing I never suffer from is a hangover. I may well talk bollix but it is rarely because of the night before.

And I invited you to explain why- I am still waiting. What is different about their sideways passing and ours (apart from the end product)?

The bolding e.g. thought that went out with P8ddy………..

P8ddy is back on the blog now. The bolding just makes it easier to see who said what. If anyone wants it stopped- I am happy to oblige

Because I challenge your ubiquitous wisdom. I don’t see anything wrong with you at all other than you give the impression IMHO that you (appear to) know better than everybody/everyone else.

No, you did not challenge me. I invited you to do just that- challenge my point- but you preferred to keep the personals coming. You used the word supercilious which was just a cheap shot and inaccurate. You can have any opinions you like about me, so long as you grant yourself the freedom of “you give the impression” (more accurately, you(TBM) “take the impression”) and “you appear to”. That is an awful lot of leeway you give yourself to have an opinion on someone’s character without having to go to the bother of citing any evidence for your honest opinions (IMHO).

Is there no room in your life for people to disagree with your summation of anything (Celtic)????

Again, I invited you to do just that- go ahead and show me what was wrong with my point. It’s a blog. Posters make their point – others make contrary points- the original poster comes back and responds. All of that is debate- Name calling is not.

    It’s only a blog……….

I agree 100%- now let’s hear your point about the passing rather than your points about me.

  14. merry xmas everyone, if Jphn James is a bona fide rangers supporter, then this wee latest comment from his blog is remarkable honest and open –

    ————————————-

    sitonthefence

You evidently have either never visited a Rangers supporters club, or are naive. I refer you to a game in a cup competition. Rangers were one down to Albion Rovers at Ibrox. As I watched the game with my fellow supporters there was a consensus of opinion that the referee would extend added on time so as to assist Rangers in gaining a replay. This duly occurred, accompanied by a goal that should have been disallowed as the keeper was bundled into his own net.

The semi-final was an outrage. Two individuals set about altering the course of that game. Muir lies that Meekings cleared the ball with his head and despite being ten yards from the incident with a clear view, McLean defers to Muir and takes no action. Later, realizing that the fix is in, an ICT player dives in the box as soon as Gordon approaches. Rather than book him for a dive, McLean sends off the goalkeeper. The net result of the bias of McLean and Muir is that ICT were allowed to play 11 v 10, avoid a penalty and stop a goal-bound header with a blatant hand ball. If the officials were merely incompetent, or had a bad day, you arrive at the situation as was the case at Falkirk where Collum called both penalties wrong. There were no mistakes by McLean and Muir that favoured CFC.

I don’t pander to conspiracy theories. If you take the view that McLean and Muir made a series of ‘honest’ mistakes, then they were so incompetent that they should never officiate again. Were Muir and McLean censured for their abrogation of their responsibilities? No. Was Meekings banned for committing a red card offence not seen by the officials? Of course not. The SFA chose not to take retrospective action as this would support the view that their appointed officials were incompetent or lying. So the accepted view is that Meekings cleared with his head in the parallel universe of the banana republic of the SFA. Schweinsteiger, in a recent game for Manchester United, was not punished on the field for fouling his opponent while awaiting a corner kick. He was subsequently banned for three games. The officials at Hampden, who all support Rangers or pretend like our journalists do that they support Falkirk or St Mirren, were delighted that CFC were removed from the Scottish Cup. Meekings played in the final. ICT won the cup. Muir and McLean did not openly conspire to change the course of this game. They had a tacit understanding. The conspiracy, the lies about honest mistakes, came later.
