CELTIC will discover their Viaplay League Cup quarter-final opponents on Sunday night – if, of course, they do not falter against Kilmarnock in their opening tie with a 3pm kick-off at Rugby Park earlier in the day.
The last-eight draw will be broadcast live on Viaplay immediately after the satellite broadcasters’ coverage of the holders’ meeting with Derek McInnes’ side in Ayrshire.
Last season, both teams went head to head in the semi-final of the competition at a storm-lashed Hampden in January when the Hoops triumphed 2-0. Daizen Maeda bundled in the opening goal in the first-half and Giorgos Giakoumakis claimed his last strike for the club in stoppage time.

Celtic went on to lift the trophy for the second successive season when they overcame Michael Beale’s Ibrox side 2-1 in the showpiece showdown at the national stadium the following month.
Kyogo Furuhashi, who scored two when the Hoops claimed the silverware the previous term in a 2-1 victory over Hibs, staged an action replay with another double in an identical scoreline.
The Parkhead outfit have won the trophy six times in the last seven years.
Quarter-final ties are due to be played during the midweek of September 26-28.
