CQN Golf Annual Charity Open
This year’s CQN Open is set for Friday 29 June at the first class Aberdour Golf Club once again. It is a day of sport, entertainment, Celtic chat and is always good fun.
After the golf, we head up the road to the CQN friendly Woodside Hotel for our evening meal. We’ve the usual round up of all things Celtic by Paul67, and our very funny after dinner speaker is Willie Allan. Then musical entertainment from Scoogz, who you may have seen if you’ve been to Celtic Park entertainment nights. Plus all the usual prizes and charity fundraising, for the Petrov Foundation this year. Cost is £40 night only and £80 all day including golf. I’ve read back a bit and it’s already been said but I thought Sweden were robbed of at least one penalty, and IF the Ref had given it in the 1st half Boateng would have to have been sent off, for denying the Swede a goalscoring opportunity. the Ref bottled it to favour Germany methinks, and his hesitation to finally give Boatang the 2nd yellow in the 2nd half confirms my view. Again, maybe the Ref just didn’t want to send anyone off ?
Anyways I had Germany to win 2-1 @ 8/1, and for several reasons I wanted them to win, and NOT just my bet. Again as it’s been said already, the English “commentators”, and the BBC Breakfast show this morning are a disgrace when it comes to Germany. As soon as Sweden went a goal up in the 22nd minute, they were wetting themselves at the prospect of Germany losing the match, or drawing and going out at group stage.
The English are ALWAYS praying that other Top Nations go out, in order that THEIR Path to Glory is made a whole lot easier for them.
This time around we have no Italy or Holland, and Brazil and Germany, Argentina, France etc have looked less than convincing IMHO, so the English will probably not have a better chance of maybe reaching the semi final, despite IMHO England may have some very good players, but they are NOT a Team to get excited about thats for sure.
Last Monday, England scored a late winner v Tunisia, and as the week went on The BBC and ITV have been interviewing some English players, and ” Hey Presto” all of a sudden the English players are being told how “Brilliant they were v Tunisia”, DESPITE it being a very nervy game for them.
After Brazil struggled v Costa Rica, and only won with TWO very late goals, The BBC/ITV for days afterwards liked to remind viewers how Brazil were rather “Lucky” because of their ” Late Goals”, conviently forgetting how England won their match…….you couldn’t make this biased crap up, and it’s no wonder many of us want to see England get Gubbed !
I posted the other day that I took Harry Kane as Top Goal scorer @ 16/1, before a ball was kicked after looking at Englands Group etc. in all honesty if my bet gets beat I couldn’t care less BUT…………

As for “Expert Pundit” Lee Dixon ….once a winker, always a winker, to listen to this Chump you would think that as a “Player”, he NEVER misplaced a pass, was NEVER caught out of position, NEVER misjudged a cross , NEVER missed a Tackle ….etc etc. Dixon was just another very average player that got very lucky in football…it’s that simple…when I was playing, I would have DAZZLED the Chump everytime !
