DELANEYS DUNKY
Hope and pray you’re right
:o)
Sipsini
I watched Nir and Dedryck very closely today, like a scout. Sad to say, Nir will never be a Celtic great, Dedryck on the other hand might just make it. I know it was part time opposition but I thought Bhoyata was excellent today. Stuart Armstrong has raised his game to a different level. Scott Sinclair is magical, wonderful and many other superlatives. Great to see Celtic fanatic KT back.
Bring on the ICT!

good evening all
Scott sinclair MOM, Boyata and brown played well among others
My highpoint of the day was rovers goalie looking towarda row z for sinclairs shot, and almost shit himself when it hit the post and went in
Lay off James Forrest,in fact ,beat it ,don’t need supporters, who constantly , criticize certain players,
Sixtaeseven
Jim Duffy is a braw Maryhill Tim.
The many Tims in the team fae the tail o’ the bank will be up for a cup upset at doomdome.
Mon the ‘Ton!
Just saw the Arsenal “penalty”. Never a penalty: it’s high feet so is an indirect free kick for dangerous play.
Add that to the stonewaller Man City didn’t get yesterday and it just goes to show that the EPL refs are just as incompetent as ours!

Brilliant that the winter break is over and great to have a good win. We’ll be seeing that Sinclair goal over and over again. Fantastic!
Here is some post-match light entertainment:
“Mark Warburton Insists Barrie McKay Won’t Leave Until He’s Replaced By A Decent Vending Machine”

Excited to see if our new bhoy will improve the central area. This is the teams engine room and has been good this season but still has room for improvement.
It’s not coincidental that Leicester have slumped and Chelsea prospered with the Kante transfer.
He is brilliant at breaking up opponents play, protecting the defense and starting attacks.
Hope our new guy is of his like.

Good evening my friend. Watched todays match in the company of my Polish and Slovakian Tim friends in Dalmuir. When Scott Sinclair’s shot hit the net, Denis from Slovakia said,”Like a Lubo Moravcik goal.” Lubo is Denis’ sporting all time hero.

evening bud , glad to see yer mam was in fine form wae the grandweans.
Evening Bhoys, I wonder if I could get a bit of advice ?
My local Parish church, St Philomena’s is needing extensive roof repairs, maybe in the region of £100k
A fundraising committee has been formed.
Various activities are happening .
Anyway, 2 of my sisters are part of the group.
We have a Henrik autographed strip from 2003, a Liam Henderson strip signed by all the current team and a signed ball from the team circa 1996/97.
Should we have a raffle for these items, charging say a tenner a ticket or have an auction night?
Anyone who has any experience of this type of thing would be great if we could get your opinions.
Thanks in advance
HH
Neustadt-Braw.
I couldneigh resist!

“And as a footnote, credit where its due and nearly choked on my pint, Walker managing to shut mccann up long enough to puncture many, many holes in mckay/6million pound story.”
*****
Yes, McCann trying his equalization tricks again, and tried to put Walker on the spot. Basically said, JF has Champions league experience, and has played for years in the top tier. Mackizinho hasn’t even completed a full season in the top tier. No comeback from McCann.
Sinclair is superb. Great control, great pace and a great finisher.
His movement off the ball makes him hard to tie down for defenders. His ability to go outside at pace and find a cross with his left foot; or switch inside and have a shot, or find a pass, with his right foot, makes him all but unplayable at times. Our best signing in years.
A great first half from Armstrong. Faded a bit in the second half but scored again. I personally think that he is a more effective player beside Broony, but another good performance to go with his recent ones.
Dembelé had a relatively quiet game, but kept the Rovers defence occupied, as a striker should, and scored. He has undoubtedly played better (e.g. Any game against Sevco), but an applied performance with merit.
Gamboa improves with every outing. I feel he still lacks confidence, which is important as he looks like a confidence player. At the moment he seems more worried about making a mistake than anything, but is a good understudy to Lustig, and can only improve.
James Forrest played well enough, although he can be more effective. I think he gave the players marking him a hard shift and definitely softened them up for Paddy.
Patrick Roberts added guile, and fresh ideas to our forward play. Great player, great performance.
Great to see Kieran Tierney back. Izzy has played well in his absence, but he is undoubtedly our number one left back now. Gives us so much going forward and offers great tenacity in defence.
Boyata played well (that’s three words I never thought I would put together), but my confidence in him, and I think some of our other players has been shattered by too many previous horror shows. If we can punt him for a fee it will be a result.
Good showing. Lustig can play left back and centre half…….. in Scotland. He tries his best in Europe. I think he is a leader amongst the group, and he is undoubtedly a Celt.
Gordon managed to stay warm.
Simunovic slotted in nicely in the second half. He is the best of our defenders in an offensive sense. Always looking to move, or pass forward.
Bitton. One of his better games, but I just don’t think he offers much. His best years are surely ahead of him, but will they be with Celtic?
All in all, a good return to treble business. Attitude was good. Team togetherness is clear to see.
We were professional, hard working and all things considered (pitch, break, ref etc) we played well, scored a few goals and well………… pushed the sausage :)))

Raffle all day long, auctions rule out the wee people and then limit your clientele :-)
By all accounts Rod is now in the Brig enjoying a shandy or two with fellow Celts, sort of glad the wee Rovers didn’t get a doing, main thing Brendan’s “slump” continues

My two daughters have realised that the great grandweans rejuvenate GG Molly. Celtic playing well and winning pleases my mammy too. :)

From earlier.
I don’t read SMSM. Igathered the info from reading CQN and likely those who do read SMSM. I read on here it was reported in the lads local/national media outlet. If it appeared here in SMSM and then ever ported here on CQN I wouldn’t have take a view on it.

Rod was brilliantly irreverent .
I wonder if he will be in Lisbon .
To all you pedants or quizzers out there – Donald Trump is not the 45th President of the USA – he’s the 44th.
There was a guy called Grover Cleveland who was elected back in the day, he didn’t get a second term but he stood again and he got elected. So this is the 45th presidency, but the 44th president.
I promise I’ll get out more. See you in Lisbon in May.

My own mother when still with us never had a good word to say about Celtic, her line was “Celtic don’t put food on the table” think that was always a wee sly dig at my father (then me) ….. but in her later years (after her 80th birthday) her mask used to slip and say “Gerard did we win today” your post about the grandkids making your mum happy (along with Celtic) made me smile :-)
Right, off to collect the good lady from her work. Will round the day off watching Eibar v Barca with the 2010 Rioja Reserva which I could not have with lunch.
Good laugh at Rod putting the fun back in football, I am sure he enjoyed himself.
Looking forward to a busy week at work and two Hoops games in the next 7 days.
Hail! Hail!

My mam has always idolised her uncle James Delaney fae Cleland. Jock Stein rescued us and was her non family Celtic hero. Todays victory was cheered by her. Even better it was in Airdrie where a lot of our family live.
BURGHBHOY, don’t limit yourself to one or the other, do both.
I’ve done some fundraising, raffle some things and auction a couple of higher end items, things that will attract people to bid, something such as the signed tops, but also auction at least one of your top three items.
Mix things up, it keeps folks interested, and should maximise the return you get.
If you do one you limit your market(I know that’s odd to look at it as a market, but that’s exactly what’s you’re doing, marketing,
Approach local businesses, its surprising how generous they can be for a local project, but get to talk to the guy who can give, some managers won’t be authorised to, owners will.
Well done Celtic, professional performance, job done.
And treating our opponents with the respect they deserve, professional as I said.
DD
Excellent, good day all round………
as Hunderbirds mentioned earlier, Scott Sinclair has been some signing, not sure if wee needed a back four & Nir against the Rovers, but am sure as well as winning today Brendan was more about getting the formation back into the groove
16roads from earlier…….. the 90’s made a lot of us :-) only good memories for me, even better I now know the cheats actually cheated aided and abetted by their brothers in black :-)
BURGHBHOY on 22ND JANUARY 2017 6:38 PM
It all depends on the wealth of your parishioners and their willingness to spend.
I come from a relatively poor parish and we struggle when it comes to expensive raffles but we would never do well auctioning this type of item.
I have a signed shirt that I will be raffling fairly soon but won’t go over £5 a ticket as they won’t sell above that price. Those that can afford a tenner will buy 2.
You will also be advised to sell elsewhere as well (CQN for example, with paul67’s permission). i brought in good few quid here for my recent race night.
A race night is always a good earner!
E-mail me at vfr@girfuy.com if you want to take it offline.

ha- just seen rod on the telly !!!!!
BURGHBOY, get the diocese to pay. Failing that get the Vatican to pay.

posted these cup stats before today’s entertaining draw…
Stats for last 22 Scottish Cup draws:
Celtic -19 Away and 3 Home;
(The) R*ngers – 6 Away and 16 Home including last 6 draws over last 2 years
Add another Home draw for sevco (courtesy of wobbly Sir Rod) so that’s 7 home in a row.
May be they are going for ’55’
Ron Bacardi
Not the most positive post, but I will be delighted if Pope Francis is lurking and sorts Burghbhoy out……
Burghboy – are the Henrik and Liam tops match-worn? It makes a big difference to their worth.
BURGHBHOY
ignore duds like Ron Bacardi and try anything you can to raise money including race night etc
Our parsh has to raise over £500k
GERRY, Should not be down to local parish to fund maintenance of the chapel, etc.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions.
Very much appreciated

Am afraid it is……….
That’s how most of the community chapels/churches work (from whatever religion)

I’m not sure , but will make enquiries.

A plea for help please from the great CQN Commonwealth of knowledge.
I had one suit that I loved and wore to everything that required one from the time when I needed a few for work in my late 20’s until I finally outgrew it in my early 50’s. Loved that suit.
Since then until now, a period of six years I have bought and outgrown two. Both were rubbish. Now I need another one for upcoming family wedding in April. I would like to explore getting one made to measure, or at least tailored. And one that is not freezing cold or cheap looking because it’s so thin.
Anybody got any suggestions where would be good to go in Glasgow? I am down next weekend.
Also what does such a thing as a decent, made to measure suit cost?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
