Being formed by immigrants still has power to shock

1162

A club formed by the Irish immigrant population sends best wishes to Scotland and Ireland. Read all about it! It’s as though our heritage still has the power to shock. How timely the outrage came hours before Celtic launched their “We are Celtic – and we say No To Racism” initiative.  This morning Scott Brown reminded us, “Celtic has been a club open to all people since its formation in 1888”.  Stick to task, Celtic.

Congratulations to our former boss, Martin O’Neill, in getting the Irish to at least the knock-out round. Commiserations to our other former boss, Gordon Strachan. Gordon will be feeling sore right now but he should lick his wounds and stick to task. He got the better of Ireland on their head-to-head and came within a whisker of also getting the better of Poland. The loss in Georgia was typical Scotland – you cannot change everything in two years, while Ireland taking four points from six off Germany is inexplicable.

Gordon is by far the best man to take Scotland the World Cup 2018 qualifiers; get on with it.

Not sure if this was discussed yesterday but I received a letter from Crltic re seating for next year as regards the standing area.

Looks like it’s a definite goer then

  5. Great Story Tony. Had great teachers at school apart from one. Few years back this teacher, stopped his car while I was loading and wheelbarrowing slabs outside this new house. He dropped his window and said with a sadistic smile on his face, ‘ if you stuck in at school you might’ve owned a big house like that instead of labouring’. I told him I do own it. Cue burning rubber…

Sorry I can’t make the gathering this afternoon. Was looking forward to boring all of you with my poor guitar/ keyboard playing and lousy singing, but the Scatica and the warfarin have decided otherwise! Have a great time all of you, esp BT and Old T, and someone, maybe a schoolteacher like TD67, please re-educate ACGR to drink Jura 16 year old!

That was an excellent post. Having met you, I know you are one o the good guys and really good company. It is only fair to say that some of your posts show you in an aggressive and seemingly narrow light. I hope that post has made others see the `real` TD67 — a really good Celtic fan of the Old School.

    For the Hootenanees.

Wouldn`t it be so much better if the hangover preceded the drinking? Or, even better, if alcohol was really good for you and the more you drank, the better you felt the next day. Maybe such a product does exist but the fear, no, knowledge, that no work would ever be done prevents its release onto the Market!

  13. Terrible tragedy on Dublin Traveller Halting site. Major fire a number believed burned to death including children, could be between 6 & 10 fatalities. God be good to them.

I put my hands up to that too.

But it’s only for the not seeing anything bad with my club I have that trait, my whole family are like that, we where brought up on that and will never change.

And it doesent make a better fan than anyone who has other opinions on what they think of Celtic as a supporter.

I don’t drum it into others to think like me, far from it, it’s just that some get it, and some don’t .

No ones died yet over it so it’s not that bad eh?

Have a fun day today, and be careful HH.
