Being formed by immigrants still has power to shock

1162

A club formed by the Irish immigrant population sends best wishes to Scotland and Ireland. Read all about it! It’s as though our heritage still has the power to shock. How timely the outrage came hours before Celtic launched their “We are Celtic – and we say No To Racism” initiative.  This morning Scott Brown reminded us, “Celtic has been a club open to all people since its formation in 1888”.  Stick to task, Celtic.

Congratulations to our former boss, Martin O’Neill, in getting the Irish to at least the knock-out round. Commiserations to our other former boss, Gordon Strachan. Gordon will be feeling sore right now but he should lick his wounds and stick to task. He got the better of Ireland on their head-to-head and came within a whisker of also getting the better of Poland. The loss in Georgia was typical Scotland – you cannot change everything in two years, while Ireland taking four points from six off Germany is inexplicable.

Gordon is by far the best man to take Scotland the World Cup 2018 qualifiers; get on with it.

  1. glendalystonsils on 9th October 2015 12:28 pm I didn’t see any of the Ireland game but I was not too surprised by the result. it often happens towards the end of a qualifying tournament when the favourites have already qualified.

*or mibbees it was a thank you for leaving the lights on tae guide the Luftwaffe :-))))

How right you are. Scotland’s real shame starts at the top, not the ‘fenian blood’ mob.

The masonic ridden corrupt Sfa did absolutely nothing to protect great Celtic players from regular abuse when in a Scotland shirt. Jinky, Dalglish, Danny Mcgrain to name three, all copped it from the tartan hun. The fact that they would all have got a game for Brazil or whoever was best in the world at that time, didn’t matter.

Worst of all…. Jimmy McGrory 8 caps, Alan Morton 30 odds. McGrory, Guiness book of records with 550 goals, the Scottish Gerd Muller, didn’t matter. Jimmy Delaney, Murdoch, Auld, Lennox all undercapped , Jinky 23 Henderson 33, the same consistent story.

Scotland’s shame, rotten from the top down. They made the divide worse than it ever should be, as their denial of dead Rangers tells you.

As for the msm? A continual insult to the intelligence but dangerous with it. Every one of them a weight round Scotland’s ankles. I won’t see it emerge from backwater status in my lifetime.

  3. Have tae agree with Marrakesh, couldnae give a tom tit about the national side, wisnae always that way though especially when Tommy Doc took over and cleared out the “old and it is beautiful mob”.

But they soon reverted tae type with naesurname who bailed out on them and then mr 125 years of unsurpassed dignity for a job down south, and they want to give it back to him.

  4. I felt sorry for the Scottish team lads last night. They put in a shift and even although a win would have meant nothing, a well earned victory would have given us something to look forward to.

What last night does show is the role attitude plays in producing a result. Had Germany needed to win to qualify they would have. It’s what German teams do.

Ireland under MoN, needing to win, did just that.

What Scotland need to establish is why Georgia was not approached as a must win and the role attitude played in not winning.

Over the piece players are much of a muchness in terms of physique and technical ability with Germany shading the rest, so for Scotland to qualify it has to be all right on the night whenever and wherever that is.

We need guys of mental toughness in key positions. Just like Celtic.

I wouldn’t have thought so. I just think that if the Scotland and Ireland games v Germany had been reversed, the outcome might have favoured Scotland more . My loyalties are divided 50/50 BTW.

Let’s see if any of the msm have the balls to analyse things and trace it back to the David Murray’s wreckless folly, when cheated and connived to push his club to forlorn glory, dragging every other club to the brink, stunting a generation of promising youth.

good spot Marrakesh, the cheat fix is in,their illegal behaviour affected more than fans of the squint.not that they give a s…its about presevation of them and their cheating ways and never mind how our country stands

  8. Good afternoon,

Winning Captains when I open the site page it now appears to be loading quicker though the bet365 advert still appears firstly for around 15 seconds I have been on a wee Spanish island for past 12 days.

I know your asking for feedback the other day.

    Gracias.

Congrats to Carlton Cole in joining the bestest club in the world.

And congrats to Celtic for waiting till the international fortnight was nearly over, thus saving a few quid.

    As predicted.

Well, please let me expalin, Paul…

Ireland defended well, didn’t make stupid mistakes, didn’t give away silly goals and took their chances up front. See how Celtic use to play in the CL for further reference.

    Thanks for the feedback.

We have had continuing problems with implementing the new ads on the site and while we have ironed out the early issues, it appears that these can re-occur. We are adding new safeguards next week and also have narrowed down the ad providers so some have been given notice.

The rogue ads that are particularly annoying dont even earn CQN any money – wee annoying bandits.

We appreciate how annoying this can be for those unlucky enough to be affected but please appreciate that it is our top priority to resolve.

BMCUWP – sorry I can’t make tomorrow as I have a family commitment. I told Mrs WC I was going last week only to be met by that stare and then a reminder of the plans already made! Hope it goes well…I wanted to be there to answer and questions re the new blog and new server.

    A few quick comments.

How desperate was Neil Mc Cann last night in criticising Skoosh ?

I think WGS should stay as the Scotland manager. He has quietly accepted the SFA corruption and it´s Anti Celtic Raison d’être. I wonder if he knows that our board are in on it.

When is Resolution 12´s second Birthday ? How old will it be before everyone (and I mean everyone) says wakey wakey ?

Was whooping with joy last night at Scotland´s and WGS failure and St. Martin´s success :-)

Interesting times with regards FIFA. They can´t bury it under Ogilvie like Celtic´s plc has done.

Surely a lucrative business opportunity there for Campbell ??

Well done MON & the ROI I suppose that ends the MON/WGS debate

We are Celtic say no to racism

  17. All this continued evidence of institutional racism being rid in Scotland and yet many of you continue to,berate me for saying it.

We live in a country that cannot face up to its shame and doesn’t want to. Quite why some of you want to throw your hat into the ring with those who would victimise you I don’t know.

Anyway off to Rome with my beautiful wife this weekend so nice to leave it behind for a while.

Any tips from Rome veterans greatly appreciated?

  18. And sorry. I meant to say. All this and Celtic still do and say absolutely nothing. It’s almost as if they like it?

    Surely not?

  19. I am not lurking anymore

Yip, Gordon’s a very good manager, Martin’s a miracle worker, as Hunderbirds are Gone and I stated earlier on this thread, and as he proved again last night.

  20. Bada Bing

Yeah, at the moment, but trying to get the scousers into the top 4 down there could well clip Klopp’s wings.

could you not open a technical window?

so we could interact/give feedback etc on site instead of awaiting e-mails.

    just a suggestion mate,

it would prob be more beneficial to CQN than some of the reportage already there imo.

it is getting more difficult to get on site.
