Detail in our annual accounts for the year to 30 June 2014, released yesterday, are bitter sweet. It was a good year financially but the successes were underpinned by qualification for the Champions League. This season’s revenue will be lucky to rise much above £50m, from last season’s £64m.
I see lots of comment on Peter Lawwell’s £400k bonus. The key figure to concentrate on executive pay is the basic (in this case £524k), not the bonus. Celtic executive pay, including manager, chief exec and scouts, should heavily incentivise qualification for the Champions League. If we’re in the Champions League, all other objectives become possible. Failure to qualify brings a range of risks; so the execs should feel the pain of failure in the pocket.
Basic pay should be appropriate for the work (this goes for all staff at the club, of course), but there is ample room to incentivise everyone, from executives, to kiosk staff, to stewards, on club performance or service objectives, as appropriate. Would doing so tackle many of the stewarding and service issues we see regularly? Would be interesting to find out.

Sorry you never made it on Saturday. Say Hail Hail to A.
Peter lawless says there’s no money. If there’s no money, how does he justify such a huge bonus (for failure) not to mention the 57k pension fund – after all, it was Peter the snake that signed off on all the duds that are propping up our wage bill?

I owe 16 roads a lot, so definitely count me in for Belfast.
By the way, selling victor wanyama, Gary hooper & kelvin Wilson was an absolute failure. Success would have been renewing their contracts.

What’s happening in Belfast as I’ve met almost……no one from cqn & it would be a great pleasure to join ya’s for a p×+* up in person – if ya’s would have me
How do you incentivize ( a word I’ve only ever seen used on CQN) a Sevco supporting steward to make sure he fulfills his customer-service objectives rather than his own self-satisfying power trips whilst he’s being employed to, ahem, “protect” 30,000 Celtic supporters?
Pay him the living wage, or lead by example?
I’ve read the post. Haven’t read back on any comments. Can’t be bothered these days.
Well done PL, Bankier and DD.

14th February, not good. Ok for me, you and all the Singletons out there. Feck it. 16 Roads will love our company in January. Go for it.
Oh we better make sure it is ok with J, first.
Ffm. …toy know fine well the Co staff stretches far beyond those stewards. That’s as ignorant as it comes.
For the past 4 years we have berated the zombies for watching their club go to the wall as they stand by & watch.
Why is it okay for is to do the same?

G-Thang, please listen to the Beaumont Hannant links I posted last night.
You will absolutely love them.
Introduction
PL is a very naught bhoy for steering our club (on behalf of the very smart self made billionaire DD) to safety & potential long term security, yet is derided as being the Anti-Christ?! Really?! If not for seeing so many familiar, well read names posting such mindless nonsense, I’d suspect a literary Hun plot to undermine my club afoot. However, no need for such paranonia as ‘Celtic Fans’ appear to be attempting to hole us below the waterline with spoutings of “we expect/demand/deserve etc” frothing on & on & on…. All I can say as a fan of over forty years & a fellow custodian of many generations of ‘Celtic Family’ is: “Fuck off you spoilt wee fannies. We have a legacy to protect, not spunk it up a wall á la RFCRIP. Feel free to join RFC v2, v3 & so on & so forth. If demands of unrestrained spending (ie outside our cost base) in the guise of ‘football investment’ is your bag, then your financial support will be royally welcomed elsewhere. Our club will survive & flourish, with current business sense prevailing in the long run, unlike you or I (or RFCRIP). Hail hail to another 125 yrs of a moron free CFC, at least……

Key to my point is treatment of the Celtic support by the current board.
I’ll let you tell me how that equates to paranoia and/ or me demanding better and being a “spoiled wee fanny”.
But I won’t be reading your answer. I’m off to bed, and don’t have time to waste on reading pish from over-opinionated rich-mens’ minions.

That kind of thing creeps me out.

Safe journey to all going to watch the celtic today… Get behind the team from the get go. Drown out any ejits who are on players backs after 15/20mins
We cant complain about the players or management if we arent playing our part.

SCOTT Brown has described the current Scotland dressing room as the best he has known in an international career dating back to 2005, when he made his debut against the USA.
The captain recalled occasions when he didn’t know where to sit due to club factions.
Asked whether today’s Scotland team is the best he has played in, he agreed, adding: “It is the best dressing room I have been in as well. We used to have the old Rangers and Celtic thing and stuff like that, but it is a great place to be now and everyone is chirpy and chatting as well. You can sit beside anyone and there are no problems whatsoever. It is a good place to be.
“I wouldn’t say there were cliques, but it was weird when I first came in. You could see, automatically, that the Rangers players would sit beside Rangers players because they were best mates and Celtic would sit beside Celtic.
“I came in from Hibs and was going: ‘Where the f*** am I sitting? Am I supposed to be in this squad?’ “I wouldn’t say it made it harder for the team to gel. The same people were playing week in, week out together. It is probably harder now, but the lads are working harder at it.”
It is clear to see that no matter what side you are on for or against the board as Kid Creole said “There’s something wrong in Paradise.”At the games there is a general lack of atmosphere and an apparent apathy. and I do feel the policies of the Celtic hierachy have created this.Three points today is essential.
So……The Hoops are back in action today!
Here’s hoping for a good performance…..and result.
The result is the main thing though, whether it is achieved with a bit of style will be a bonus!
Ordinarily a draw would not be the end of the world but if it is…..well…..it may bring Ronny Delia’s time in the world of Glasgow Celtic a step closer.
He badly needs to get results to start getting supporters and fans back behind him.
Personally….i would like to see him do it, although it seems there are people out there that would like him to fail so they can come on here and tell us all that they told us so.
Still…..if it makes them feel better about themselves…..charge on.
Maybe he will fail, maybe not.
One thing that will help him will be our players.
It does not matter what system is played or what tactics are deployed if the players are just not playing well.
Factor in all the injuries and i do not think we have a single outfield player that has played consistently well this season.
Maybe that is down to Ronny not getting the best out of those players?
Maybe he never will.
Scott Brown has stepped back in and done his bit.
We need the other established players to really do the same and give the new signings a chance to hopefully shine.
Time for them all to start getting into a groove now!
Im off to work now but will be trying my best to keep an eye on the updates so thanks in advance for them!
Have a great day everyone :)
