Detail in our annual accounts for the year to 30 June 2014, released yesterday, are bitter sweet. It was a good year financially but the successes were underpinned by qualification for the Champions League. This season’s revenue will be lucky to rise much above £50m, from last season’s £64m.
I see lots of comment on Peter Lawwell’s £400k bonus. The key figure to concentrate on executive pay is the basic (in this case £524k), not the bonus. Celtic executive pay, including manager, chief exec and scouts, should heavily incentivise qualification for the Champions League. If we’re in the Champions League, all other objectives become possible. Failure to qualify brings a range of risks; so the execs should feel the pain of failure in the pocket.
Basic pay should be appropriate for the work (this goes for all staff at the club, of course), but there is ample room to incentivise everyone, from executives, to kiosk staff, to stewards, on club performance or service objectives, as appropriate. Would doing so tackle many of the stewarding and service issues we see regularly? Would be interesting to find out.

Liquidation is a legal process as you posted. They have not as yet been liquidated as the process has as yet not been completed. However, once completed they cannot come out of liquidation.

He is not been badly managed. Ronny is as yet not playing the proper system in my opinion. Regardless of who you play up front you have to play two Strikers in my opinion.

The SFA and the SPFL make no distinction on their historical website archives between the team that was liquidated snd the team that won league 2 last year and the team that won league one this year.
As you are aware the SPFL is a new organisation. Newer than Sevco. So the decision has already been made to illustrate whether this is indeed a new team has already been taken. As Celtic are represented at the top level within the SPFL you can be rest assured due to the quality of our executive that this decision has already been taken.
So the precedent has already been set snd Celtic FC being a member of both organisation will have to accept that they are indeed the same team. See the websites. They could find themselves on a disrepute charge if they were to even mention it.
This imho was all sorted out during the 5 way agreement. Those onerous contracts over Ibrox way depended on it. Without that there would have been no 5.5m purchase for Sevco.

Woke up this morning feeling really nervous about today’s game, I’m beginning to feel a bit more confident as the morning progresses but how the hell have we sunk to this. Ronny has said that he doesn’t consider this a “must win” game. It may not be “must win” technically but it is must win for me. I was one who immediately stated I was underwhelmed at the appointment but then tried to rally behind him once he was there however today is a line in the sand for me. Win or resign Ronny.

A decision was made to place Sevco in the second tier in order to protect the tv deal.
When the displeasure of supporters became apparent, this decision was changed.
Maybe a decision has been made about how Sevco will be treated as if their history is unbroken, and as if there is no problem about them continuing to be called “Rangers”, and maybe our representatives have colluded with that.
But when faced with Sevco in the Premier, if the reaction of Celtic supporters is as strong as that of SFL supporters back in 2012, there is surely the possibility that at least the Celtic board will have to look at the decision again, disrepute charges, or not?
