Detail in our annual accounts for the year to 30 June 2014, released yesterday, are bitter sweet. It was a good year financially but the successes were underpinned by qualification for the Champions League. This season’s revenue will be lucky to rise much above £50m, from last season’s £64m.
I see lots of comment on Peter Lawwell’s £400k bonus. The key figure to concentrate on executive pay is the basic (in this case £524k), not the bonus. Celtic executive pay, including manager, chief exec and scouts, should heavily incentivise qualification for the Champions League. If we’re in the Champions League, all other objectives become possible. Failure to qualify brings a range of risks; so the execs should feel the pain of failure in the pocket.
Basic pay should be appropriate for the work (this goes for all staff at the club, of course), but there is ample room to incentivise everyone, from executives, to kiosk staff, to stewards, on club performance or service objectives, as appropriate. Would doing so tackle many of the stewarding and service issues we see regularly? Would be interesting to find out.

Looking for some help from any IT guys.
When I was on this site last night an Adobe Flash page suddenly appeared asking me to download their latest version. Even though I said no to this and tried to close the page, it seems to have affected my laptop. I am now constantly getting pop up ads appearing saying they are from TVWizard. Also a lot of word on cqn seem to be highlighted in Blue (of all colours)Although I was unaware of downloading anything, TVWizard was somehow downloaded ? I have now uninstalled this but I am still getting all these pop ups constantly.
A Java update icon is also constantly appearing.
Any help would be most appreciated as I am not particularly good on computers (and that is an understatement)

In Slovakia there is a HUGE controversy going on right now and it involves a Scottish referee.
In an under 21 Match this week Steven McLean gave a penalty to Italy, sent off a Slovak player and their coach and did not give them a stonewall penalty.
This means their team are not going to the next phase or the European championship.
The papers here are doing their nut, all my friends are screaming and moaning about Scottish referees (not regular ones, just Scottish ones) and I personally am taking a bit of heat because of this.
I explained that having been on the end of referees like this all my life I agree with them.

As sydneytim highlighted on the opening page Lawwell is a cost cutter and not the man for Celtic. At long last Paul67 faces up to the elephant in the room and the CEO compensation needs to be linked to CL qualification.
However it will not change. Lawwell will not invest for next seasons CL qualification. He will sell VIrgil even tho he is on a watertight contract. commons will leave as one of the higher paid players…maybe even in January. The discussions with Commons are like those with Ledley, Hooper etc …just window dressing before Lawwell pushes thru a sale.
And at the end we have a weaker team, EL not CL and a Phoenix club with investment to deal with. Oh and our illustrious CEO scooped another £1M while dishing out zero hour contracts.
Lawwell has systematically run Celtic into the ground. He is a cost cutting Beancounter and did not make the strategic investment necessary to secure 2 CL qualifications that would have secured £55M for the club. As sydneytim highlighted check his previous at Monktonhall, plus part of old Whyte/Kelly approach.
Rather than highlight the need to improve his compensation mechanism Paul67 could highlight the effects of the results of Lawwells failure. It was an open goal and did not even connect with the ball.

I’m bhoyed by the prospect that no matter what I will be in regular place at Celtic Park on Thursday. I am one of those whose number was being bandied about yesterday; we in the good bad ole days, when the likes of Desmond White would make up the attendance on the hoof. Now, it seems I can’t attend league games because Celtic have arbitrarily changed the kick off times. Hurts, so it does.
Just setting off for Dingwall and stopping at Inverness for a pint or three pre-game. I drove up last night so my son is driving this morning.
Sad to read of nasty comments posted to Efe on official site. Being the official site, it is almost certain the player will read those comments.
