Boys in blue turn to Ibrox

661

Its seven months since the Worthington Group, who represent the interests of Craig Whyte, reported Charles Green and Imran Ahmed to the Serious Fraud Office over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd.

Sevco 5088 Ltd bought and paid for irrevocable rights to buy the assets, including Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park, of Rangers Football Club PLC, in liquidation.  Those rights were subsequently assumed by a different company, Sevco Scotland Ltd, now called Rangers Football Club Ltd, who are a football club in the third tier of Scottish football.

The question is, how did Sevco Scotland acquire those rights?

When this question was raised back in April, it was reported that Rangers International PLC instructed Pinsent Masons to investigate the matter, but instead, Pinsents reported on whether Craig Whyte was involved in Sevco Scotland Ltd, a company he claimed no connection with.

The BBC, who broke the story yesterday evening, suggest Police Scotland are investigating if Craig Whyte is still involved with “Rangers”.  Although this would break the terms of Newco Rangers entry into Scottish football, it is not, of course, a crime, nor something the police would concern themselves with.

More importantly, the BBC suggest police want to speak to Charles Green, former chief executive of Rangers International PLC, about a document submitted to Companies House.  The dispute over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd has played out through documents submitted to Companies House, not all of which can be legitimate.

Perhaps the biggest challenge of all to the Newco is that these matters have a history of taking a long time to resolve.  Time is not a commodity a company without bank borrowing or positive cashflow can afford.

If only any of us saw this coming………

  10. So who is the next carpetbagger waiting in the wings who will start a new company (sevco whatever) to ‘buy’ the footballing assets from Rangers International and continue the myth {with SFA approval} that the club/team which plays at Ibrox is the same club/team which was booted out of the SPL for going into liquidation.

  14. Stephbhoy listened to the ticket office manager John Paul Taylor saying after the Dundee Utd game , that work will start to demolish the old school and the tkt office. I take it they are still standing, and you are right .there should have been a café and museum etc built ages ago, when you do the tour ,and I have done a few myself over the years there is nothing not even a tea or coffee or juice machines. maybe all the shareholders all the corporate ones , should ask why there has never been decent facilities available. not all celtic supporters can afford all the trimmings that you get if you have a few bob. so all you rich shareholders start doing your bit for the ordinary fan.

I believe you when you say you have spoken to Lawwell etc and that he has never used words like ‘profound’ and ‘phenomenal’ when trying to sign a player – now, I may have got the wrong end of the stick here as I’ve not read the entire blog but its a bit of a strange tactic all the same given that he is not our player and a very public announcement that we will try to sign him next year leaves plenty of scope for sides willing to spend silly money to step in and offer him 2x what we were planning to?

I genuinely cannot see a way out of it for them. They are in the hands of gangsters, like the restaurant owner in Goodfellas.

    “You pay me”

I genuinely think the fans are now realising that their only way out is a fan buyout like at Hearts and Dunfermline. But they won’t get that opportunity. Not with the other lot in charge.

The restaurant in Goodfellas was eventually burned down.

For obvious reasons,The big hoose won’t suffer that fate.

There are times this blog reminds of a Council run allotment, people slavishly

uncovering plot after plot! Relax, this is Celtic fan forum, it’s a bit like the club, it’s well run.

No one is trying to take an advantage you, you are ‘grown up’s’, with the exceptions of those

who for some reason, come on here with their version of why the team is performing so badly. Some are forever looking at, tactics, players, manager, management, formations, medical staff, psychology dept, team selections, lennoxtown, injuries, ( why so many),! I thought the last one is one every should understand, we play in the SFPL, most of the time,

others are allowed to kick lumps out of our players! It’s like a badge-of-honour thing!

IMHO most of you that come on here with any of these afore mentioned articles, know as much about Celtic F.C., and all the above related articles , and the KOJO’S of this world, as my arse knows about Snipe-Shooting!

The Chinese player market is not a strong one yet. I only see one who plays abroad (apparently with Corinthians in Brazil). Their captain is Zheng Zhi which gives an understanding of their level, (97th in FIFA list, qualified for one WC finals only).

I would suspect that we were talking up signing a player from them to boost our chances of a sponsorship deal/TV interest. I would hope to be proven wrong but I suspect their best player would struggle to get a justified game with us and we might have to go down the route of player development and broadcast our Youth games to them.
