Boys in blue turn to Ibrox

661

Its seven months since the Worthington Group, who represent the interests of Craig Whyte, reported Charles Green and Imran Ahmed to the Serious Fraud Office over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd.

Sevco 5088 Ltd bought and paid for irrevocable rights to buy the assets, including Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park, of Rangers Football Club PLC, in liquidation.  Those rights were subsequently assumed by a different company, Sevco Scotland Ltd, now called Rangers Football Club Ltd, who are a football club in the third tier of Scottish football.

The question is, how did Sevco Scotland acquire those rights?

When this question was raised back in April, it was reported that Rangers International PLC instructed Pinsent Masons to investigate the matter, but instead, Pinsents reported on whether Craig Whyte was involved in Sevco Scotland Ltd, a company he claimed no connection with.

The BBC, who broke the story yesterday evening, suggest Police Scotland are investigating if Craig Whyte is still involved with “Rangers”.  Although this would break the terms of Newco Rangers entry into Scottish football, it is not, of course, a crime, nor something the police would concern themselves with.

More importantly, the BBC suggest police want to speak to Charles Green, former chief executive of Rangers International PLC, about a document submitted to Companies House.  The dispute over the ownership of Sevco 5088 Ltd has played out through documents submitted to Companies House, not all of which can be legitimate.

Perhaps the biggest challenge of all to the Newco is that these matters have a history of taking a long time to resolve.  Time is not a commodity a company without bank borrowing or positive cashflow can afford.

If only any of us saw this coming………

  5. INCORRECT stories concerning the Company have appeared in the media today and yesterday concerning allegations that Craig Whyte still has links to Rangers, which the Company would like to clarify.

Pinsent Masons has not reported to the Police that Craig Whyte has any connections to the Company. A separate matter was reported to the Police by Pinsent Masons, on behalf of the Company. That matter related purely to a director appointment form which purported to appoint Craig Whyte as a director of Sevco 5088 Limited.

One of the reasons the investigation report has not been released was because a matter was reported to the Police. The Company did not wish to do anything that may undermine any Police inquiries into the issue. The Board of Directors have at all times acted to protect the interests of the Company and the Company’s ability to take legal action.

The Company regret the need to disclose this issue but it is necessitated by the incorrect and speculative articles that have appeared in the media. There has also been speculation in the press on the impact that a Police investigation has on the Club’s SFA licence to play football. To confirm, there are no grounds for the SFA to withdraw the Club’s membership.

The Company also notes that former Chairman Malcolm Murray dismisses the allegations concerning Craig Whyte’s supposed involvement with the Club.

  6. Is there any truth at all in the link between Sevco and Whyte?

Simple question. Does anyone know for sure? Or is this gonna be pages and pages of speculation?

Investigation report not released … matter reported to the Police … undermine Police inquiries … protect the interests of the Company, eh, Club … legal action.

    Police investigation … team’s, eh, Club’s licence … SFA to withdraw … team’s, eh, Club’s membership.

Now this was a post after the away trip to Karagandy, Paul wrote a feature entitled “Unprepared Celtic”.

    Ahhhhhh!!!!

  20. Gotham Police Dept…..sorry police scotland don’t do anything unless a crime has been committed.

They are clearly being directed by the Crown Scotland to investigate, collect evidence and report back to see if a criminal offence has occurred.

The criminal offence will only occur if monies or property was obtained by some legal entity that was not lawfully entitled to them……this is fraud and a criminal offence.

CW bought all of the assets and all of the debts for a pound sterling from SDM which is a matter of public record……and very legal.

He then had various companies with which he proceeded to place different parts of the original RFC that he bought….and very legal.

The fundamental question is which company went into administration and what assets did they possess?

If RFC was liquidated without owning the real estate then another legal entity owns the real estate.

Anyone who bought shares in any related company other than the one which owns the real estate is a fool.

This is why the McColl/Murray camp have not put any significant money into IRFC…..because it has no real estate to secure fixed charges to IMO…… they have only a set of 12 month old accounts and jerseys for their money which would imply that the Easdales have had their financial errse felt?

In all of this CW could quite easily own a bit of a company……. that owns a bit of a company….. that owns the real estate of whatever its called today……. much like your insurance company owns shares in thousands of companies to get you your dividends.

The bottom line is that CW and TICKETUS have legal control of the real estate somehow and plod will find nothing criminal to prosecute. Certainly questionable business practices but nothing criminal IMO

These people make their living from doing this and the best ones employ qualified expert advice before they blink.

The orcs as an entity are finished. They could be back as a franchise to salve the needs of the 80% here in Scotland but thats about it.

They’re going the way of Third Lanark wether they like it or not.

The problems are too big, the finances required are too much, the market we operate in is too small, it requires too much investment to catch Celtic.

Watch us weep….your Grandchildren will be Celtic supporters.
