CELTIC have been linked with Polish central defender Pawel Dawidowicz who is rated in the £1.5million bracket by Serie A outfit Verona, according to The Herald.

Neil Lennon had already kick-started his plans for 10 in a row with the Hoops admitting they would be looking at bringing in “two or three” new players for the forthcoming campaign.

Twenty-five-year-old Dawidowicz is poised to return to action when the Italian top flight resumes on Saturday evening on June 20 when his eighth-placed club face a home game against Cagliari.

The international centre-back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is under contract until June 2022 t up until June, 2022.

Parkhead gaffer Lennon will be looking for reinforcements for his back four with Jozo Simunovic and Jonny Hayes leaving at the end of their contracts at the weekend.

Filip Benkovic, who enjoyed an impressive season-long loan from Leicester City at the Hoops a year ago, has also been mentioned as a possible on Lennon’s wish-list.
