AJER AXES AGENT

KRISTOFFER AJER has parted company with the agent who insisted the Norwegian would quit Celtic this summer.

The 22-year-old international has decided against renewing his contract with long-time adviser Tore Pedersen.

The Hoops were not happy with the player’s representative when he claimed Ajer would be on his way from the nine-in-a-row champions at the end of the season – despite the versatile performer still having two years to run on his present deal.

Ajer later distanced himself from the claim and has chosen not to renew his business dealings with Pedersen.

The skyscraper central defender has been linked with several clubs, including Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and Serie A giants AC Milan. Real Madrid, too, have merited a mention in recent days.

Pedersen, speaking to the Norwegian media, said: “My contract with Kris expired this May.

“Why wasn’t it renewed? Kris must answer about his choice, if he wants to.

“Did I want to renew? Yes, of course. Kris is a brilliant guy and a very good central defender.

“I have followed his career since he was 15 years old. I wish him all the best in the future.”

Following Pedersen’s claims he was on the brink of quitting Parkhead, Ajer said: “I have two years left of the contract and do not focus on my future at all. What the media writes, I don’t focus on it.”
