BTW, you’d be amazed how often a club approaches a club about a player and is told, yes we might be able to do business, but come back later in the window.
Similarly, an agent often tells an interested club, come back later in the window.
Often a club wants to conclude other purchases before agreeing to sell a player, and sometimes agents/players are undecided and want to see how the land lies, or wait to see who else may be interested.
Too many people think all a transfer deal involves is one quick phone call.

Perhaps BMCUW is concerned that Peter will continue his previous behavior of failing to sign coaches targets and trotting out a litany of excuses the day after?
We are definitely lacking at right back and central midfield.
We have a huge increase in income so not strengthening the obvious weak areas of the team would be folly.
Our spend over moneys received is fairly even.
We shall find out i if profit still has priority over the football team in the next few days.

Gave it to my sister so someone who frequents a local charity shop probably has it now.

Celtic only decided to bring in another player ( or two ) when CL participation was guaranteed, I don’t have any difficulties with that, given the financial reward in comparison with the Europa.
There would be few transfers if there wasn’t a deadline day, and there isn’t a big club in the world who haven’t signed a player on, or near the deadline. It’s only as the window begins to close that players become more and more for a move.
Like most Celtic fans I’d prefer players in on permanent deals with the caveat that there at least three senior players presently on deals looking for a transfer back out.
We’re a far cry from Martin O’Neil’s frantic efforts to ‘try and do something’ before the deadline.

What proof have you that Peter Lawwell has ever refused to sign a player recommended to him by the manager?
You haven’t any, but it suits your narrative to ‘throw it in’ – if the player was affordable why on earth would PL say no?
If the player cost £10million and wanted £3million/year wages – of course PL would say no – out of our league….but what manager would be stupid enough to ask this kind of player?
BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on
Bloody hell, the master of conjecture asking for proof.
Getting players in if we qualify for CL is just another sucker sop, qualify and those not made any agreement but intimate interest simply pump up their wage expectation or at least that’s how failure to sign anyone will be sold. That’s my opinion and if anyone disagrees with it proved proof it’s no the case :)

Playing against packed defemces, just how do you expect Broony and Biton to get the ball forward quicker?.
They wait until space is made by the front men to recieve the ball, hence the reason Rogic can turn, also Sinclair, and go forward.
Or maybe we are better just humping the ball forward,at every turn. That will work.

So if we were in the EL and not the CL this would not determine a player moving to the Spl..
Fair play……
For me CL is the carrot that will see 1, 2 or maybe even 3 signings before close of play on Wednesday ….. That would not have signed if Beer Sheva made the CL

Gearóid98: I work with a Dublin hurler. I’d say they train more than pros but definitely don’t get the financial rewards.
Anyway, i know you are only joking. To paraphrase graffiti from 1980s Turf Lodge; half of Ireland love Dublin, the other half are jealous:-)
