  1. Heard it all now. If you can’t slaughter the board for not qualifying for the CL group stages, you can always fantasise and speculate as to what they would have done if we hadn’t qualified. Next best thing.

As for proof. Someone once told me the moon was inhabited by dinosaurs. I told him it wasn’t and he told me to prove it wasn’t.

Just checked back. He has a point!

It’s a fantastic choon, but tbh,the album is full of them.

I’d mibbe have left off Oh Sister, but I think that was very personal to Bob.

I just think it’s a shame that such a great track didn’t get more of an airing. Still,Dylan has had some success at what he does,so what do I know?!

So the moon is populate by dinosaurs, excellent, that’ll do for me, as much chance of dinosaurs being to the moon as the yanks :)

He didn’t answer my question either, selective answering our resident multi monikered matts, tho he decided to tell me I know feck all and he is the font of all knowledge, I paraphrase.

He is a journo plant on here, I wonder how much he gets paid.

  6. Turkeybhoy – bitton has a lot of technical ability. But he does something negative to our team. The games and/ or periods of games in which we have been fluent in our play have, the first half hour yesterday aside, coincided with Nir’s absence from the team.

It was the same last year. By and large if he plays we slow down as a team.

    In my humble opinion.

Bitton or Brown, Brown or Bitton, both together always seems to destroy the whole teams rhythm.

Bitton I think is a smashing player when you need to lock a game down and get the result, Brown is more the drive the team forward type warrior, put the two together and you have the midfielder we need:))

My fault, bud. I said he’d left it off DESIRE and only performed it live once.

First time I heard it,on Biograph,I was amazed that I’d never heard it before. Mind, there’s a few like that on that collection.

    Touché.

How many dinosaurs can you fit into an empty box.

Only one; cause then the box isn’t empty.

  10. Bmcuw – no fault at all – I have listened to it a few times today. What a song. Nils lofgren and Paul Rodgers version has an interesting (mildly) story – it’s on YouTube

Starry – I just don’t know what he does. Maybe it’s the combo of him and brown. He’s hotca few great goals on his time but it’s his effect on our play that concerns me. I worry that managers don’t necessarily see this.

I think Leigh contacted the family before yesterday’s game…..sad, sad stuff, my good lady showed me the Facebook stuff of his wee teammates minute silence, I posted yesterday Leigh Griffiths is a fantastic striker for us but more and more the wee man is getting us…..as others have posted he is a legend in the making…..and his tribute yesterday will live long in the memory of the family & friends

Could not disagree more that Bitton is a smashing player who can lock a game down.

    His defensive qualities are awful.

How many fouls did he give away in dangerous areas yesterday?

This is due to his inability to make a tackle and constantly being wrong side of opponent.

He also refuses to take responsibility and constantly returns ball to team mates under pressure.

A total imposter in my position.

No a big fan of Bitton but we seen a very good player a couple of seasons ago playing attacking mid, what happened to him ?

He can move the ball about well but since being asked to play defensive mid his square and back passes kill any forward momentum.

Think maybe when he’s asked to play in that position it’s like he takes on a mind set he can’t shake off. He is a good player there’s no doubt bout that but he needs to be asked to look for the forward pass a bit more often.

Just gave that a listen, grateful thanks!

  16. Broon and Bitton are NOT a good duo.

Broon, Bitton and A.N.Other newly signed dynamic/holding midfielder, on the other hand, would be a GREAT trio.

Who do I want before Wednesday midnight?

Xavi? A year rolling contract, blow our minds, and sell £5 million worth of jerseys in a stroke.

McCarthy? Ambivalent. Thought he performed really well for Ireland v Italy, was abysmal v Belgium. Over-priced? On the same wages as Henrik got, yup; For 15-20k a week – acceptable.

Ogu? Would be a good punt; cheap at the price, looked like another Victor when we played Hapoel. big, powerful, mobile. Contrary to what I’ve seen written he DID play well at CP, powered them back into contention as they took over the midfield after the break.

But we’ll probably spring a surprise or two in the next few days. Dembele? Who called that one? Another of like, please Celtic.

  17. Cannot add too much to the Bitton debate on here, I saw yesterday that him and Brown together lack the skills to drive from midfield which will commit the packed central defences we face at Celtic Park. Although we will not be facing that problem in the upcoming CL matches.

Had a break from cooking today, just enjoyed a lovely lunch at my favourite local Italian. Took the car as I am keeping the booze intake down, however I am now enjoying a really nice Scottish beer in the late afternoon sunshine.

    Life is good …

  18. Bobby: probably biggest rivalry in country because both teams have been very successful.

Squeaky bum time for us Dubs at HT- 5 points behind. Don’t know what it’s like on TV but I am three rows away from pitch and really absorbing game. It’s on sky sport 3 for anyone interested.

    Cmon the Molly Malones!

  19. I’d be delighted if Bitton is sold by Wednesday. Probably won’t happen but if BR gets the central midfielder he wants, whoever that may be, then Bitton will be a squad player at best. Henderson offers a lot more than Bitton. IMO

  20. Just seen the first Citeh goal.

Beautiful football, especially the wonderfully-weighted pass on the run from Silva inside the full-back to Nolito.

Got the finish the move deserved from Sterling.

  21. Bitton of 2 seasons ago was the next £10m + player. His passing was crisp and accurate, he read the game well, and he provided a goal threat from set pieces and shots from distance. That player is still in there. He is slow no doubt, but so were Pirlo and Xavi, who played the same ‘quarterback’ position that suits Bitton, and perhaps more pertinently so was Gerrard, in the latter stage of his career under Rodgers. He isn’t playing with confidence just now, but I think he does have a future at Celtic. He gave away the ball a few times yesterday, but at least they were on forward passes with a degree of difficulty attached.

The problem for me, and quite a few others have stated the same, is that he and Brown seem incompatible at the moment. They were taking up a lot of similar positions yesterday. Brown started the season very well but has dipped the last 2 games, possibly as a result of playing with Bitton. Brown wasn’t signed as the sitting midfielder that he has been evolving into, he was supposed to be a box to box player, and on the face of it doesn’t appear to be a good fit for the ‘quarterback’ position, if this is indeed what Rodgers wants to do. His drive / energy / leadership may however overcome those shortcomings.

Rogic is so good on the ball that he should have cemented his place. I just wish he would have came a bit deeper yesterday in the 2nd half when we were struggling to get out. Looked very much like 4 – 2 – 4 and we couldn’t keep any decent possession.

If we are after a midfielder, it will be interesting to see if it is a sitting player, or an all action box to box type. I think we need the latter.

Anybody know who all be will away on international duties. The break should give Brendan and coaching staff opportunities to work on deficiencies. Hope to see RB and CM in before window closes. HH

Shocking no cooking on a Sunday do you think it’s a bank holiday weekend or something ?

Hope Brendan loans out some of the young team who won’t feature much and interested to see how Brendan manages GMS (when fit) just think if he makes JF perform so much better then GMS could be anything he wants to be

  26. Aw naw!

They score goals from whipped in dead ball situations too!

Some delivery from De Bruyne, not the first.

Sure BR’s noticing all the weaknesses I’m missing.

Aye, shameful, off tomorrow as well!, although that will be spent houking weeds and cutting branches in the garden. I’m enjoying the respite.
