    Morning All.

     

     

    Well done to Neil and the bhoys last night.

     

     

    Only criticism from me is why take out a 17 goal a season man and continually bring on Lewis Morgan who offers nothing at the moment.

     

     

    This year and next is not the time to develop young talent I’m afraid just my opinion. Get the 9 out the way then 10 then look at developing these young boys.

    Let’s get a wee win on Sunday and get through the EL tie next week, then we can go to the Bigot dome next Sunday in a more confident mood.

     

     

    Although I’m not bothered about EL, I still want Celtic to win every single game of football we play.

    A fine performance last night, a good result, and a positive harbinger for the season. This was a big test of Lenny’s bottle; could he remain clear-sighted while confidence in him and his team melted all around? Keep his head when all about are losing theirs and blaming it on him?

     

     

    Damn right he could! Well played Lenny, well played Celtic. The test of nerve was greater than the test of football.

     

     

    Thought Boli was a little more settled than we’ve seen previously, allowing his football brain to engage. Still some wobbles but overall a better performance. Similarly Jullien. Good. More please.

     

     

    I think it will be fascinating watching Ryan Christie emerge in the coming seasons. He has a shed load of talent wrapped up in striking athleticism. Where and how far he goes in the game remains to be determined, but he’s got skill, attitude, brains and physical condition, and that’s a heck of a package. His performance last night underlined in the final, unforgiving minute of the game, which he filled with 60 seconds of distance run, box to box.

     

     

    Edouard, 21. Ajer, 21. Johnston, 20. They’re three years of development behind Ryan Christie. That’s mental.

     

     

    We forget that the core of this Celtic team is young, and need to learn by their mistakes as well as their successes. Is it too much to ask for a little patience and understanding from the support when they hit the inevitable bumps in the road?…

     

     

    This season is already as mad as a box of frogs, and god alone knows what hysteria will be visited upon us in the scramble for the Nine. And with our support, these kids will take it, carry it and bring it home. That’s a hell of a way to grow up.

    Ryan Christie’s run very late in the game was awesome, fitness level for all around him to aspire to. He is still quite young but the example he has shown to the younger group coming through cannot be exaggerated.

    What amazes me about Ryan is his desire and commitment to leave nothing out on the ground.

     

    Is there any other player whose feet and hungrier to get in amongst it, in Europe?

    Great performance all round. I wish the Boli haters would calm down, especially when most of them would struggle to hit a penalty kick.

     

    I watched 1st half of Legia Warsaw v “Glasgow” and I thought the huns were average. When faced with a set defence, their outball was a punt up the park, very reminiscent of Ronnie McKinnon and Forsyth. Arthur Montford used to call it a speculative high ball from Rangers. We have NOTHING to fear from that lot.

    Good result. Thought Boli other than one slack pass was very good. He seemed more composed on the ball and in less of a rush to knock it forward compared to some other games. He also made an excellent challenge on the big striker for the header which Gordon saved. His challenge meant it wasn’t a free header.

     

     

    Edouard is amazing, better than Dembele and when Moussa gets his even bigger move next Summer Lyon may come back to our tin pot league. James, Ryan and Calum are just great and big Kris can play anywhere. I am now convinced he could be the new Broonie except he’s even bigger and stronger.

     

     

    I’m so pleased by the result I’m not even bothered my flight back to Houston was delayed for 3 hours and I got him at 2am. Now off to bed

    Not really sure what Lewis Morgan does to warrant a place ahead of Shved & Sinclair.

     

     

    Micky Johnston was great last night. When Eddy was off the pitch getting his hand taped up Micky received the ball in the left channel and drove forward drawing a foul. It was really impressive considering he was surrounded by 3 or 4 defenders.

     

     

    I’m happy overall with the result but the manager was late again to change the game. Bringing on Ntcham really allowed us to create more. He should have been on 10 mins earlier.

     

     

    Will Scott Brown at 34 play 90 mins for every game of the season? Why?

    By the way, I really am happy how positive some Celtic fans are being about Boli.

     

     

    My personal opinion is that his game was erratic last night. I sit around 10 rows up facing the away dugout so I get to see the LB up close in the first half.

     

     

    He had a poor first 15 mins. A good 15 mins after that. Then it was back to being a bit erratic.

     

     

    For me, it’s definitely mental with Boli. He gets himself in bother when he’s nervous. That’s when he passes the ball into dangerous areas when he could just hold onto it a bit longer.

     

     

    When he played with confidence I could definitely see a player we could use.

     

     

    It doesn’t help when there was a very loud angry roar when he overhit a cross. It wasn’t even that bad. If somebody made a back post run it’d have been dangerous. Some fans need to think about what affect they can have on their own players.

    Glad to see a happy blog, the last week was heavy going, the main guys giving out stick for the past week haven’t surfaced yet, I expect they are still out celebrating,

     

    Obviously last night didn’t make up for the Cluj meltdown bu it has eased the pain a good bit, hopefully we can kick on from here.

    Missed the first half last night ,due to being at Fontwell races , Ladies evening .

    25/1-33/1 touched 40/1 at some bookies outsider.

     

     

    Loads of ladies in all their finery whooping and a hollering ,jumping up and down as their couple of quid on number 4 bet came up as noble glance just gets up on the post. Absolutely brilliant,bookies took a wee skelping .

     

    Didn’t hang about for the disco afterwards as the ladies spent the cash 😂

     

     

    Good result for the Celts…up the hoops

    With Fraser Forster signing the 1st Team squad is up to 30 again. Reserve squad 19. This is too big IMO and with maybe 2 others we are approaching Brendan Rodgers Levels.

     

     

    Last Season people asked where the Dembele money went. Most of it went on paying the 41 squad that Rodgers had acquired. We only use 18 per match leaving 23 unused players on salaries.

     

     

    We need to avoid this.

     

     

    We need to sell or loan players who will not be used

    Hendry

     

    Ralston

     

    Miller

     

    Connell

     

    Kouassi

     

    maybe even Sinclair(why did we activate the 1 year extension?) £3m -£4m in wages

     

     

    Too many players, not in the managers plans, create a reservoir of discontent and a waste of money

    Good performance and a good result last night but I won’t be celebrating until we come back from Stockholm having qualified. Unfortunately, we are more than capable of going there and pressing the implode button. That said I didn’t see anything in AIK that left much for concern.

    A mega well done to the Celtic support. I think Hot Smoked’s earlier question has been answered. We just can’t get enough of this.

     

     

    The Edouard song is a footballing galactico. Just listen to the man himself on how it inspires him.

     

     

    Incidentally a very subtle message from the GB.

     

     

    This team has soooooooo much potential, just think what a couple of quality signings could add.

     

     

    Again well done Bhoys. Keep oor eyes on the ball.

    Ii think Scott Sinclair is turning into a Bobo Balde situation. Celtic activated the year option to try and get money for him and its backfired as he wouldn’t move. Agree with some others, how Morgan gets game time before SS I just can’t work out. Lewis Morgan offers absolutely nothing as far as I have seen this season

    Good result and a far better performance last night, kudos to all involved.

     

     

    Id much have a player that never hides and tries things, that may or may not come off than a meek pass the buck type. The fact that the “bedwetters” at the game howl with derision at anything that doesnt come off says more about their insecurities than the teams.

     

     

    Still some strange squad decisions, we had a more than decent whole front line that didnt come on or get selected, in Sinclair, Griff and Shved. Not gonna write off Morgan, we’ve not exactly seen much of him or much from him. Obv, NFL is trying to replicate the “Forrest Experiment” with young Mikey (bags of talent and bravado, but playing time should be managed).

    Could also be that Lennon and Sinclair have had a falling out since the contract option was taken up.

     

     

    Could also be that Lennon has changed his mind and doesn’t fancy Sinclair.

    There is another theory, and thats all it is:

     

     

    We activated the year extension to get a fee for SS which so far hasnt materialised and may not and he is being frozen out, a la Bobo Balde situation (alleged), on PL’s say so, as his salary is too much for him to bear. (this isnt my theory but one mooted elsewhere on the Timternet).

     

     

    Im def not a PL fan in fact i dont have anything good to say about him but i think even that is a bit tenuous
