CELTIC skipper Scott Brown, who wasn’t in the 18-man squad for the 2-1 League Cup win over Dunfermline at the weekend, returns to the side for the Europa League play-off first leg against AIK Stockholm at Parkhead this evening.

Neil Lennon has recalled the 34-year-old midfielder for the crucial European tie with the second leg due in Sweden in a week’s time.

Craig Gordon retains his place in goal while Kristoffer Ajer, Christopher Jullien, Jozo Simunovic and Boli Bolingoli fill the Hoops backline.

Brown has a companion in Callum McGregor while James Forrest, Ryan Christie and Mikey Johnston will provide support for lone striker Odsonne Edouard.

The £10million Frenchman has netted four goals and provided four assists in eight games so far this campaign.

Conor Hazard, Nir Bitton, Johnny Hayes, Olivier Ntcham, Lewis Morgan, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are on the substitutes’ bench.

TEAM: Gordon; Ajer, Jullien, Simunovic, Bolingoli; Brown, McGregor; Forrest, Christie, Johnston; Edouard. Subs: Hazard, Hayes, Bitton, Nthcam, Morgan, Griffiths and Bayo.
