  1. Well done Celtic, good result under the circumstances.

    36 shots, 11 on target, 23 corners ………

Only rule of cup football – be in the next round

I do think NL should pay James Forrest’s win bonus out his own pocket.

That was torture, but at the end of the day we got thru and as a way of a bonus, another wake up call!

Well done Celtic- a new Scottish record of 28 cup ties without defeat, bet that’ll stick in a few throats.

  5. I agree Rock Tree. Maybe a shitty win like this will be more beneficial in the long run than an 8 nil.

What’s happened to this site? I haven’t visited for a long, long time, but tried today on my phone. Couldn’t get past the ads. I’m now on my laptop, and can’t get any comment pages after page 2 to load, adverts cover half the screen and when I try to get rid of them, the screen freezes. It looks awful where it used to be simple and clean.

    Welcome to your CQN

  8. Bhoylo83, 36 shots, 11 on target, 23 corners, doesn’t sound like we struggled, more a stuffy defence almost got away with it. Also Cheatin’ Beaton had his say, see the link in Bada Bings post, clear penalty.

Winning today was all that mattered.

  9. C’mon NEIL FRANCIS LENNON.

Board – ffs gie him at least a Man he trusts by his side.

I knew when P67 said we’d win the League continuously in our Life Time. The BIG MAN was always gonnae go — oh aye.

I Believe in so much that Celtic is doing, very conservative and that is not a bad thing despite bad experiences for so many people, over the years.

Scunnered about so much!!!!!!!!! ma thinking upwards of £50Million in the bank.

9 in a Row means we need to Support.

The Devil is in his element and gets to his maximum at the the very end.

C’mon Neil – God Bless ye

Winning today was all that mattered.

    —-

Disagree fella. We needed more than that today. Glad we’re through but got a feeling team aren’t playing for the manager. Looks that way to me.

  11. Confidence totally drained out that team since Tuesday compared to last 2 league games,

  12. A win is a win i suppose, i remember Rodgers having a few horrible cup games at home

Surprised at how much things change in a week

    Anyway, onwards and hopefully upwards

  13. Big Wavy, it’s okay to disagree, but if I may expand…..

Loose today and we may have gone into a tailspin, we may not, but it becomes more of a possibility if we do.

A great performance against a Championship team, well, that’s what should happen.

Victory in adversity, that galvanises teams.

Victory today, the performance will be quickly forgotten, still being in the tournament won’t especially if we go on to 10 trophies in a row. Given the circumstances going into this game, any win was all that mattered for me, and a difficult game from a team fighting for everything was predictable. Must have been if I could predict it.

  14. i’m more concerned with they’re stats to goals scored.

we’re to easy to score against.

much to be done personnel and shape wise when we lose the ball.

Happy to be going into the next round , lessons to be learned.

Hope Ajer doesn’t have to bad an injury.

  15. NL might not be big in to stats ( !?!?!?!) but we are.

30 odd shots, 20 odd corners today. 14 goals in three domestic games.

Are the players not playing for the manager? I can’t agree with that.

This time last season we couldn’t muster double figure attempts on goal until injury to broonie forced El Rat to change the team and the players ran riot for a few months. Had Rodgers lost the dressing room? I don’t know I’m just speculating- same as the rest of you.

  16. marspapa,

The odds are stacking against us more and more as we head to the V Lavvie.

I trust NFL to get something despite so much adversity.

  17. I didnt expect this to be easy today, so I wasnt surprised, resilence to get through but much better needed, if we need to leave out Ajer we are down to Jullien Simo or Bitton, Hatem will be right back, not much understanding there through game time, the coaches will need to coach and not leave it up to players to look at things and see problems, training ground double work on defending, hopefully our pressure leads to more goals but the defending is giving me serious concerns to put it politely. New players for Thursday are not the answer but we do need defenders and someone who knows how to put a defensive plan together when we do not have the ball and at set pieces.

  18. A 5 or 6 zero win today would have done nothing for us. I think this keeps minds focussed. Plus it was never a game that would provide the players or manager the opportunity to make up for last week.

Thursday is the first very small step to that. If we in against hearts and the others there will be a much better feeling about the place. But only total change of transfer strategy from the club will get us all over the disappointment, the sheer let down that was Cluj and how avoidable it was. To me that is much more important than who the manager is at any given time. Better players win matches most of the time.

  19. Doc

Cheers fella. All good points. I expected a better reaction with a lot more intensity. We look shot on confidence and I guess I have 100 questions that didn’t get answered. Like you, glad it’s not a defeat and a tailspin but I’m still as confused as I’ve been since the final whilstle against Cluj….
