turkeybhoy – in the same vein, what do phil the journo and his comfy pal think that telling everyone that julien and boli are p1sh will achieve ?

  2. Watched Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona last night

A last minute wondergoal (a bicycle kick with his first touch) from 38 year old Aduriz meant an opening day defeat for the champions

For some reason i assumed Valverde had been sacked at the end of last season following Barca’s dismal display against Liverpool in the Champions League throwing away what seemed to be an unsailable lead from the first leg

I’m of the opinion Barca probably would have sacked him had there been someone else to offer it to.

There’s not many options out there

  3. I was extremely disappointed with the conduct of the ‘dunfermline fans’ the day. Hun bampots. Onwards and, of course, upwards.

Kiss her arse her arse or however that gooes.

  4. Turkeybhoy at 9;33

What should the money paying fans say? Nothing?

I am against Celtic fans interacting with the UK MSM. Within our own stadium, however, we should be able to express ourselves.

Genuinely, how else can we express displeasure? The AGM?

That apart, have a good evening sir

  6. Before the game today when the team was announced, the general feeling was ,that was the team most wanted to see.Today,Ryan looked as if he was playing with concrete boots.1st touch, terrible, passing, overhit.Corners,Dear God.2 out of 23 decent.Calmac, out of touch, same with Eddi. All our star performers.I thought Boli played well,El Hamady, very well,Griff, least said the better,Ntcham did well.Whoever picked Mikey as MOTM,not got a clue.Wrong decisions, overhitting crosses, running into trouble when a pass on.Great prospect, but much to learn. No idea why so many are getting onto Juliens case. One bit of a stumbled pass back, apart. He won every header, passed the ball well,a few good interceptions.Forgetting this was his 1st real game.Did OK.But hey, these are Celtic fans, who gets time, benefit of the doubt, even encouragement?

uncle jimmy – do you agree with booing the team before extra time and midway thru extra time ?

  8. GeeBee1978,

Davie Moyes would be my choice. No messing about go now and he will deliver two trebles and 10.

He is a very significant upgrade on Lennon and he has miles more integrity than Rodgers. Professional manager who knows how proper football clubs are run.

Only risk is he would not be a pushover for Lawwell —- who also needs to exit for his multiple failures. Lawwell would still try to educate him on the pecking order as he did with Rodgers. It’s another reason why our egotistical beancounter has to go —- it’s all about him.

  9. Go tell the Spartim on

    Lucky Cody

You were doing so well to, until you mentioned Moyes, he’d get football stopped.

    Bhoylo83

He should’ve been sacked, most Barca fans wanted him sacked for decisions similar to last nights, keeping Rakitic and Busquets on the bench (obv Rakitic came on) then bringing on some ‘winger’ who had only 17 minutes first team experience ( he did nothing but pass the ball back.

Mikey Johnston is obv talented but he has little to no game smarts and he’s still to lightweight he should be used sparingly

Does anyone else think our treatment of Sinclair will do anything to help us entice players to come, teams up here would still double up on him (it’s only a section of the support who think he’s Barry White (rhyming slang ))

  10. spikeysauldman on

uncle jimmy – no you didnt – tho not as severe – surely the banners sent a similar you are pish/we’re not happy message ?

  11. Scott Sinclair (40 goals in 100 appearances) or Lewis Morgan (yet to score…)?

    Looks a no-brainer to me…

  12. i think a lot of the crowd to day thought the game was finished after 90 mins and was going to a replay , booed and started leaving.

  13. spikeysauldman on

and then some of them came back in and thought the game was finished again at half time of extra time ?

  14. Spikey

With respect, I don’t think it did.

I deplore booing. Banners? I’m fairly agnostic. I prefer the non political ones.

Strategically, we are not well run at the moment. I welcome each and every attempt to communicate same to the directors box.

    Appreciate the chat.

    Regards

sure – uncle jimmy – hail hail – good to hear all opinions (well apart from some ;-))

  16. Over the last three years a lot of those players have probably developed a strong bond, how do you think a lot of them feel when they see Scott Sinclair being ostracised from the team because Peter and Neil think he makes to much money

  17. Moving wisdom of life by the Big Yin just done on BBC2.

He’s on Quartet now. Same channel.

    Some man.

  18. Watching MOTD I remember many on here telling how supporters of Teemu Pukki’s previous clubs didn’t rate him and how our players thought he was rubbish

    Just saying…..

  19. I think a lot of the 83 minutes quick getta way fans were a bit upset cos they had to see out extra time today

  20. Watched the highlights from the video in the stands. To me it looked like Boli provided most drive and width going forward. Lacks composure and a final product but if he could be polished he’d be a potent attacking outlet (although I don’t think he’s much of a defender unfortunately).

We need a target man for games like this. Not sure if Bayo is meant to be that guy but we need another string to our bow. The 6′ 5″ big lump centre forward is perhaps outdated but it’s what we need when we’re up against packed defenses. Constantly putting the ball into the box and no attacking players getting near it.

Totally agree, Scott’s treatment has been shameful for me

  22. Topkat! 1153 ! Serious question 😀has Neal or Neil Lennon! Ever won a trophy out with Celtic 😇asking for a friend 😂

  23. Asking for a few friends!! How many would want neal ! Neil Lennon for manager if asked today! Be honest now!!

Celtic need to get Callum settled and make him the highest paid player.

  25. Mark Wilson made a very salient point that Callum had played the LB role very well a few times @ the Holy Ground.
