Mikey Johnston was my MotM just ahead of El Hamed. Some are saying MJ needs to beef up but he was more than a match for the Dunfermline sub who tried to barge him but instead bounced off him.
Bitton was good but I agree with others that his contribution is not creative enough.
I’ve reserved judgement on Boli and Julien until now. Boli isn’t good enough and Julien isn’t as dominant as he should be, especially in the air where he struggled on occasions with the Dunf centre forward.

I have stayed away from this dear green place since Tuesday. Tuesday night was a night that took me back to the 5-4 game against Partizan. I’ll not add anything to what has been posted.
What is harder to take is that we have won 8 titles on the bounce including the treble treble. We forget what we have achieved in a short period of time but I get it after so much success. God I have had so many downs in my Celtic following years and there will no doubt be many more. I am consoled though that there will be so many good teams as well.
We have had two poor games, Tuesday, everyone and their Granny knows that it was my namesake’s fault, it saddens me that he cannot accept that, something I think was reflected yesterday by all accounts. I wasn’t there yesterday, although I could have been but I was still hurting. It was wrong of me but hey ho!
Whether we agree with my namesake’s tactics or team selections we need to get behind the team. A massive season, sevco are all in, they know they must stop us.
Our Board and Manager have gambled and lost, despite spending £10 million on two players who don’t seem to be rated, sad.
Many players out of sorts. Christie and McGregor uncharacteristically though they never hid. Griff and Eddie got very little to work with, which is usually the case playing against a packed defence.

Boli and Julien may not turn out to be brilliant value for the amount spent.

In life, relationships, work and particularly in Sport, confidence will carry you a long way. Players are ordinary ghuys just like us, they read social media & see what is being said.
During the games they are aware of both encouragement & abuse.
We have a great squad, the bulk of them have won the Treble Treble, all this negativity is not good for either us Supporters or the Players.
Obviously if there is something wrong on or off the field we have a responsibility to react & call it out,
However ongoing repetitive negativity is a self fulfilling road to nowhere.
In the last week we have taken a couple of heavy blows but we knew we were never going to win Champions League, we are still standing in all Competitions we can realistically hope to win.

So once again we manage to snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory.
The reasons are many, players on the night, managers tactics, and the failure of the club to lay down foundations for success beyond domestic victories.
Our repeated failure under different managers to qualify is symptomatic of a lack of a football strategy.
The chief executive, will rightly be questioned, but to use a football analogy the ref is often the guy who cops the blame, but frequently the real culprits are linesman.
In our case the non executive directors. They should be holding the Chief Exec to account.
Guys like Wilson, Allison have been around for years, with no attributable successes.
BTW that’s not to suggest PL gets off the hook.
Methinks we need the following
1. Start holding the non execs to account at the AGM. Every year, they come along, and enjoy an easy ride. If they were regularly asked challenging questions, Imho they would melt and disappear.
2. Get someone in the board with a bit of football nous, to develop a proper strategy to qualify for the CL.
The qualification route is highly predictable.
We know the dates, and the calibre of opponent and that their resources will be 50% or less than ours.
3. Get in someone who has contacts and influence in EPL
4. Tell the manager to surround himself with decent coaching staff. John Kennedy gets a bit of fkak, but none if us know what advice he gives or gets. Damian Duff was coaching at youth level less than a year ago. He was a great player, but we need a couple of “seen it, done it” experienced coaches to help manager on nights like Tuesday.
