Watched high intensity Chelsea press at Old Trafford last week. Unlucky not to be up at half time, the game ended up getting away from them. Today is Lampard’s first home match at home, it was predictable that they would employ the same tactics. Leicester have played straight into their hands, mugged off for the first goal as they tried to saunter out from the back. Lucky not to be 3-0 down and they are all over the place.
New club Rangers, rangers international have made a good start to the season – the Hibs score wasn’t quite as free flowing great football as it seems but nonetheless, they’ve beaten what’s in front of them pretty well. That being said, someone blogged last week that the hearts, the dons and hibs are weaker than in the last couple of seasons; I think this is a very good point and the league will be close because we are only as strong as our weakest link (cluj debacle) and rangers will, imho, have shorter erratic runs than last season. League close: us to win by 3 points

Anyone?
What is sevco net spend since gerrard’s appointment and what is our net spend over the same period?
Chelski – there’s a team that flatters to deceive. Last two league games they’ve looked like they would sweep all before them in the first 10 minutes of the game then struggle after missing a ton of chances.
Apart from the odd genuine spend most of their signings have been free transfers.
However they are clearly upping the quality of said ‘free transfers’.
The really important bit will be what they have spent on wages which I would imagine have doubled or trebled since slippy came in last summer.
I would not be surprised if their genuine accounts are a horror show for the year even with the bit of Europa football they got last season and might get this season.
I would not be surprised if they have got a lot closer to our 59 million from last year .
I estimate around 40-50 million and running at a huge loss…but purely a guess.
